Another wonderful Christmas story by Debbie Macomber. This story will have you thinking about your letters to Santa, thinking about your childhood, and Lindy brought her visits to Santa into her adult life. Debbie shows us what can happen when, even as an adult, you write a letter to Santa.
Wishes do come true. It was magical, and it brings the spirit of Christmas'

Thanks to Ballantine for an advanced copy of Dear Santa by Debbie Macomber!
Dear Santa is a wonderful holiday romance about hope, love and second chances. Debbie Macomber holiday romances are the best and this sweet book totally had me wanting to write a letter to Santa!
Lindy is stressed from work, her love life a disaster and she's looking forward to 2 weeks at home for Christmas to cheer her up. Her mom found a box of childhood letters to Santa and she encouraged Lindy to write a new letter to Santa to believe in herself. Lindy reconnects with an old friend and sparks fly between the two. Will the Christmas magic work out?
I loved the cute town and Lindy and her family. I love that Debbie Macomber books are Hallmark movies in book form (and I bet this will be a movie in a few years!) I loved the connections and this was such a joy to read.
If you're looking for a heartwarming and wonderful holiday romance this is it!
I always look forward to a Christmas story by Debbie Macomber. This year a special one was truly needed if ever that was the case. Dear Santa delivers that and more. We have all had troubles and struggling times so Lindy Carmichael had my heart from the beginning as she arrived home. Family, memories, and the hope that whatever is wrong will not last forever is the true theme of this book.
Yes, her mother says to just believe but is it only in Santa Claus that we believe. Could it be the Spirit of Christmas and why we celebrated this important holiday too? I liked that Lindy and her family say grace before meals. To me it was a sign that they understood all good gifts come from above. Finding love was important in this romance but for me it was seeing Lindy find out what was really important in her life that kept me reading on.
Do you need a lift after some difficult times? Do you need to find the Spirit of Christmas this year? Then Dear Santa is the uplifting holiday book that will have you remembering the blessings of Christmas past, appreciating the present blessings, and looking forward to the blessings to come. Certainly Debbie Macomber is the Queen of Christmas Stories, Shirley, Goodness and Mercy convinced me of that years ago with Dear Santa cementing it.
The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

When Lindy returns home from Seattle to Wenatchee, Washington seeking relief from her broken blue heart, healing begins upon the opening of a box of old letters to Santa. A nostalgic return to this childhood Christmas tradition of letter writing, along with her Mom's thumbprint cookies and Dad's sourdough pancakes, might just provide a start to the comfort she needs.
Macomber provides a warm mix of people and place for Lindy's holiday survival, compared to the bitterly cold shock of her recent break up and betrayal. Exploring her cozy hometown leads to a quick renewal of a cherished friendship, plus a reaquaintance with the now grown and handsome bullyish Billy from childhood. I love descriptions of meaningful places in books, and I was drawn to The Wine Press restaurant and the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth just as Lindy was.
This smoothly flowing romantic story links young professional Lindy's past to the path of her future as she seeks solace and renewal at Christmas. It's never too late to pen a letter to Santa in hopes of having wishes granted.

What a perfect little novel to kick off my holiday reads! Y’all heard me, it is time for another round of Cozy Christmas reviews. Don’t disown me because I love reading these, and I might read them a little bit earlier than others!
Lindy Carmichael has landed herself that perfect job, the one she’s dreamed about and worked hard for her whole adult career. In the process her boyfriend made a terrible choice that has Lindy questioning where she is in life.
As Lindy heads home to a much needed Christmas break with her family, she runs into a dear friend from her childhood, who helps her sort through her priorities. Aren’t old friends great like that??
Lindy’s mother found this box of sweet letters to Santa, hence the title, and I just loved how Santa wove himself, and Lindy’s wishes throughout the story.
While in town, Lindy also runs into the boy, Billy, who used to tease her endlessly as a little girl, only he isn’t a little boy any more. He runs a local restaurant, The Wine Press, and Lindy is able to learn so much about his past, all in the midst of preparing for the holidays!
My favorite part: the sleigh ride! <3
I loved this quick, sweet little, clean romance read- and the characters are just adorable. Highly recommend this for a holiday read this season, it is so uplifting and left me wanting more of their story!
When Lydia finds out her fiancé and best friend are having an affair, she is devastated. She decides to apply for a job she wants and go home for the holidays for the first time in years.
Her trip home turns out to be the best thing for her. She realizes things happen for a reason, and the holiday season can bring miracles.
I did enjoy this book. There was some slow spots in the reading. If you are looking for a cute holiday book this will satisfy you.

I adore that this book was set in my state! I really enjoyed reading Lindy's story. Though you could really feel her struggle through the writing the book was still uplifting and sweet. I loved the nostalgic feel of the book and all of the Christmas magic.
Thank you Netgalley for this arc! This was a perfect Christmas romance! This was the perfect break from the Thrillers I’ve been reading!
Lindy Carmichael returns home to Wenatchee, Washington for the Christmas holiday, but she’s not feeling the Christmas Spirit. Her boyfriend recently left her for her best friends and her dream job isn’t so dreamy. While she is excited to see her family she isn’t sure what she wants to about all of her troubles. When her mom shows her the old Dear Santa Letters she wrote she feels like a kid again. What better way to get into the Christmas mood than to write a silly letter to Santa. What she wasn’t expecting from the trip was running into her old best friend Peggy and former bully classmate Billy. She quickly connects with Peggy and realizes Billy is not only handsome, but extremely sweet. Will these old connections help her rediscover her passions and find a new path in life?
Lindy goes home after her boyfriend (ex) and best friend move in together. She is hurt and dismayed. Hoping that a two week vacation can set her to rights, she is determined to go home and change the course of her life. Her mother suggests she read her old letters that she wrote to Santa. She does and decides to write another one this year.
When she starts to receive what she requested her life takes a drastic turn. Santa has a way to give you what you need, want or hope for when you least expect it. This is a quick, sweet Christmas read. It will leave you with a smile on your face, which is exactly what you get when you read Debbie's books.

I've long wanted to read a Debbie Macomber book. This might not have been a great choice for my first. Or perhaps I'm just not the right reader for her books.
In Dear Santa, Lindy returns home for the holidays after a rough year on both a personal and a career front. After reviewing letters she wrote to Santa as a child, she decides to write another letter to Santa this year. Will this this new letter be answered in the same ways her childhood letters were?
I think that I just wasn't in the mood for the sacchrine sweetness of this book. So I think my rating and review are probably more a refleciton of me at the time and not necessarily the book. However, the book itself had issues with inconsistencies and a lot of redundant information (sometimes even the exact phrasing). The pacing of the story overall was off - weird time jumps and other parts that dragged. Hopefully some of these things were taken care of in a final edit (I was reading an advanced review copy).
I wanted to like Lindy, and maybe I did. She just wasn't as fully developed as I would have liked. None of the characters were, but I at least hoped to have a more complete main character. The romance part was okay. Quick but understandable.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an advanced copy to read and review. All opinions are my own.
ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from NetGalley, Random House Publishing, Ballantine Books 4.5 stars
Dear Santa by Debbie Macomber is a standalone book about finding a second chance, hope, reminiscing of Christmas past and love.
Lindy Carmichael returns home after the man she thought was the”one” cheated on her with her best friend. Christmas time is supposed to be a joyous occasion but for Lindy not so much. When Ellen, her mother remembers an old tradition she’s hoping this might be what makes Lindy have renewed faith, believe that all things happen for a reason and fate seems to step in and show Lindy there’s no place like home to find what is truly missing … a handsome former classmate to make her heart sing…
This was a sweet Christmas book. I loved the hint of magic and belief in Santa. It’s a lovely story of forgiveness, friendship, and love. I enjoyed it, but found it a bit slow in spots.
Thank you to Ballantine Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Heartwarming Christmas book by one of my favorite authors. Sweet story of happiness, love, family and forgiveness. Childhood belief in Santa . Adult belief in Santa and the remembrance of past letters written to Santa. The magic of Christmas!
Debbie Macomber has once again brought the magic of. Christmas to life in Dear Santa! Lindy is surprised with her letters to Santa kept all this time by her mother. At a time in her life when she is feeling decidedly not so merry her letters and what they meant to her as a child and the impact on her life each year help her to realize that you can come home again and find happiness. This was a delightful story and I highly recommend it. Thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this requested ARC.
Lindy returns home for a 2-week Christmas break. She has 3 dreams besides a great Christmas with her family. She wants a boyfriend, a new girlfriend and proposal at work to be accepted. This is a sweet Christmas story with the right amount of romance. I really enjoyed this. It’s perfect for that short Christmas season story.
If there is a Christmas holiday equivalent to a summer beach read, Debbie Macomber's, Dear Santa is one. It is a quick easy read with all the "feel-goods" anticipated in a sweet holiday romance novel. Santa really does exist, as adult Lindy finds out! If you are a Debbie Macomber fan, add this one to your list.

4.25 Hearts I picked this up from NetGalley from their “Christmas In July” release and I am sad that I did. Why? Because I read it in July too. And Debbie Macomber makes the holidays come to life and I kept looking around wondering where my tree and decorations were. As with ALL of Macomber’s Christmas novels this one needs to be turned into a Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas movie.
In this story Lindy returns home for the holidays. Her man and best friend were cheating on Lindy and her job just wasn’t doing it for her anymore so she now has two weeks to get some love from home and reset her mind. While home she finds some old letters she wrote to Santa and it makes her take a look inside her heart. And now all these years later it is time to write to Santa again.
And of course we can’t forget that this is Debbie Macomber that is telling the story so while Dear Santa has a lesson in it that we all need to take to heart it also has romance. And Macomber tells a great romance.
Another great story perfect for the season.

Dear Santa is another wonderful holiday offering from consummate women’s fiction writer, Debbie Macomber. Media marketing is Lindy Carmichael’s forte and she was thrilled to get her position at Media Blast in Seattle. However, since she was hired for the position over someone who was already working for the company, she was not warmly welcomed by her co-workers.
As Lindy prepares for two weeks off to spend with her family in Wenatchee, about three hours away through mountain passes, she submits a major media campaign to her boss. She is in hopes that success on this project will gain her acceptance in the company and that her long hours and working weekends at the expense of any social life will pay off. This has been a rough year, between the long hours and the betrayal by her best friend and her boyfriend. It will be so good to be home!
On her first day home, her mother, Ellen, shared a shoebox she had found while organizing the garage. This little box contains letters Lindy had written to Santa as a child. Interestingly, each Christmas wish had come true in some fashion. Since her mom could see through Lindy’s “all is well” facade, she encouraged Lindy to try writing to Santa once again. Who knew that the three wishes she made would be answered, but following one would preclude her from having the other two?
This is such as delightful story with a “be careful what you wish for” vibe. The characters are warm and endearing and will engage the readers in a happy story. I very much enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend it!
Debbie Macomber's Christmas books always put me in the holiday spirit and Dear Santa is no exception. Lindy returns home for Christmas after a year of heartbreak and difficulties at work. Her mother suggests she write a letter to Santa to brighten her mood. Reluctantly she does and then must ask herself which of her wishes is the most important. Full of romance, holiday fun and wonderfully written characters I'd love to be friends with in real life, Dear Santa should be on everyone's holiday reading list.
This is an ARC that was provided by @netgalley in exchange for an honest review! I absolutely love anything by Debbie Macomber and this one did not disappoint! This newest release (releases 10.19.21) would make a great addition to the Hallmark Christmas Movie lineup. I can already see many faces who would play these characters! This romantic holiday read focuses on Lindy who comes home for Christmas vacation only to find more reason to stay than to leave! I love holiday books, especially this time of year! I can’t wait for you to grab it on its release date!
