I don't generally enjoy books with any sort of cheating involved, but this one I loved! Preston is truly despicable and the cheating isn't as erm, **explicit** as I was afraid it would be. Cooper and Mac are really just a great pair, and between how Preston and Mac's parents treat her...the cheating was an afterthought for me. I loved the depth that Cooper and Evan's complex relationship with their parents added...and what their uncle Levi did? Heartwarming!

My only complaint is that it NEEDS an epilogue. It ends very suddenly, and yes, happily....but a lot felt unresolved. I wanted to hear how the hotel turned out, I wanted to be there when Cooper finally got to tell Mac what Levi did, and I REALLY WANTED HEIDI TO APOLOGIZE. I need more closure than this ending gave me. The HEA felt very rushed after such drawn-out angst at the end. I could have also stood for a bit more development with Mac and Bonnie's friendship. It started out so vibrant and then sort of became an afterthought?

Overall though, I loved it! Really and truly. :)

(I reference Off Campus and Briar u a lot.)

Elle Kennedy has done it again.

I love Mac and Cooper’s relationship. Now I think I should read more books with friends to lovers. Like all do Elle Kennedy’s couples, I felt they were very realistic.

Mac reminds me if Allie, Demi, and Summer were one person. Copper is like a combination of Dean and Logan.

Mac’s friendship with Bonnie is a lot like Summer and Brenna.

I was very mad at Cooper and his friend’s decisions at the beginning, but that quickly changed. I was the same way with Dean when I read the Score for the first time.

I don’t think it has as much spice🌶 as the Off Campus and Briar u series, but that’s completely fine.

I like how the theme is mainly about not judging a book by its cover. Mackenzie (Mac) was nothing like anyone expected, and that’s great. The townie/clone groups made me think of Outer Banks (Pouges/Kooks)

It’s hard to tell if it’s my favorite Elle Kennedy book, but I know it is one of my favorites.

I absolutely loved this book!! You fall in love with the characters and their backstories and learn that two people that on the surface come from two different worlds have an awful lot in common. This book made me feel all the emotions! Excited, worried, hopeful, sad, romantic, and ultimately happy!! I think many romance novels have meh endings but this one was sweet and perfect! The cover grabbed me but from the first few pages, I was hooked into reading this one quickly! I could barely put it down!

i’ve rounded up, like a 3.5! i liked it fine though i could’ve done without the whole infidelity thing. i know it’s just fiction and sometimes it can be saucy or whatever but it still sucks to read most of the time. i don’t think it’s okay to cheat if your s/o has already cheated on you or because you think you’ll end up with the love of you life from it.

preston was painted as an awful character so you don’t feel bad about it but the truths still there and reading how mackenzie is completely aware of what she’s doing doesn’t make it better. mackenzie as a whole character was likable to an extent. great that she worked hard and had her own business but seems unbelievable by 18. she was still just some rich person. cooper was likable for about 5 minutes somewhere in the middle towards the end. i liked that he was supportive of mackenzie being on her own and whatever but his temper and attitude just didn’t do for me.

cooper also seems like he still has so much to work through and it feels like he’s just healed with the power of love. i think he could’ve had a better arc. the side characters weren’t all that likable and just seemed like they were all better than anyone who wasn’t local which i gey but it aet such a pessimistic tone for the book and was sort of a downer.

overall i think that there was some promise here. i enjoyed it enough but wouldn’t be something i’d return to again.

Tattoos, bad boy with a heart of gold, good with his hands.... what more could you want?!
Elle Kennedy delivers with Good Girl Complex! I was a fan of off campus and briar U, so I went into this with high expectations and was not disappointed.

Mac comes from money and is what the locals call a "clone"... all money, all the same, no individuality, etc.
Mac is different though - she has ambition and wants to break free from the role her parents keep trying to cast her in. She's always done whatever is asked of her, but she's itching for change.

Enter Cooper.

Cooper is everything Mac should avoid, but the one thing she can't stay away from. She feels a draw to him from the beginning and he offers her the support and friendship no one else in her life does. Seeing the bad boy at the mercy of the good girl he never saw coming = swoon!

In typical Elle Kennedy fashion this book is steamy, the connections are electric, and the characters are FIRE! The banter between Cooper and Mac was funny and authentic - I laughed and cried and fell in love with their chemistry. I loved them together!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

Ahhh!!! When Elle Kennedy drops a book that basically screams Bad boy Alert you devour that baby in a few hours!!!! I practically squealed when Good Girl Complex hit my kindle and let me tell you it is EVERYTHING. Cooper and Mac are absolutely phenomenal. The banter, the sexual tension and the fierce intensity between them just lit my kindle on FIRE!!! This story was pure Kindle Crack Amazingness!!

What I loved more than anything was how Kennedy made this story come alive. Cooper and Mac are so different on paper but behind the smoke and mirrors, they are so similar and real. I loved their banter, connection and the attraction between the two. While this story did have some plot elements that aren't always my favorite, I was completely won over by all the swoons this story had to offer. MacKenzie was more than a means to an end and it was absolutely delicious watching the cocky bad boy get slayed by the good girl he never saw coming. She was the gamechanger that brought him down to his knees!

Like most of Kennedy's NA/University stories, you will 1000% become obsessed with the side characters. The sisterhood and brotherhood (Hello Evan!!) are to die for and I am absolutely obsessed with this world and all the characters. Elle Kennedy's stories are honestly one in a million and Good Girl Complex is just another example of her exceptional talent! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula ❤
