This was such a great and quick read for me and my little one. It talks about God and how he wants children to know that HE is always with them and watching over them. My son enjoyed this book. We'll definitely give it another read during bedtime. The illustrations were really colourful and adorable as well. Thank you #Netgalley and #FlyawayBooks for an advanced digital copy of #GodsComingtoVisit in exchange for an honest review.

God's Coming to Visit is a cute story book that illustrates that God is with us always. The animals are stressing out when they learn that God is going to come visit them. Each animal has a different question or worry but the wise Owl reassures them that there is nothing to worry about, that God loves them and is with them all the time.
This book has a great story and message and the illustrations are perfect! I read this with my 5 and 9 year old daughters and they both gave this book 5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for our review.

Children’s books such as ‘God’s Coming to Visit’ by Franz Hubner colorfully illustrate an important life lesson to children and adults. Angela Glokler and Rea Grit Zielinkski’s illustrations of colorful, expressive animals throughout helps emphasize the story. You can imagine the animals fluffing their feathers, practicing their roar, and looking for a present to give God. Their behaviors are a brilliant metaphor for how people would react if they knew God was coming tomorrow. Jesus promised us that He would come back; however, “the Son of Man cometh at an hour when we know not (Luke 12:36-40).” Franz Hubner reminds us in all the excitement of waiting for Jesus’ return; we need to slow down and remember to listen to the Holy Spirit, “follow Jesus and become the light of this world (John 8:12).”

God is coming to visit and all the animals are excited and running around trying to get ready. Practicing routines, dancing and roaring until the evening comes and they are all so tired and sad until they hear a voice in the night. No spoilers but I highly recommend it to kids of all ages. I loved the storyline and the illustrations. They are so bright and colorful. Thanks to #netgalley for the advanced reader copy.

The title of this one had me worrying a bit about the theology of it, but no worries needed, this book is sweet and funny and hits it home with the message that God is always here, and there is no need to impress him.

Guess who is coming to visit? It is GOD!!! The great news spreads like wildfire amongst the animals. They are all super excited and want to do something special for Him when He arrives. What can they do to impress GOD? They hurry and scurry around trying to find the perfect thing. Owl tries to tell them not to worry but nobody is listening...

The peacocks decide that they can fluff up their feathers, the ducks can strut, the ants can build a super-sized tower and the fish can form a choir, just to name a few. All day long they prepare for the big event and God is a no show. Wherever can He be?

At the end of the day wise old owl steps in and teaches the animals that God will not be making a grand entrance because He is already there. No preparation is needed because God loves every one of them for they already are. He resides among them each and every day.

The illustrations are priceless, full of humour and very kid-friendly. "God's Coming to Visit!" is a perfect introduction to the unconditional and forever love of God. I love the book and highly recommend it.

In this book, animals of all kinds find out that God's coming to visit. They busy themselves trying to find a way to impress him upon his arrival, only to discover that he is already here, all around them, and loves them just the way they are.
Although my personal beliefs differ just slightly from those expressed in this book, I did enjoy reading it.
I enjoyed the comical ways the animals prepared, which were depicted well in the pictures. I appreciate the message that we are loved and can love and accept each other without harsh Judgements. I did feel it was a bit predictable and lacking depth; just sitting on the surface of a generally accepted theology. However, the cute pictures and good message grant it a good 4 stars.

Thanks NetGalley for the uplifting read.

Rating: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!!!!!!!!
Book: God’s Coming to Visit!
Release Date: RELEASES on October 12, 2021
Author: Franz Hubner
Genre: Children's Fiction | Religion & Spirituality

I love, love, love this book. It has a such a great lesson. The animals are looking forward to God coming. The wise owl is the only one that realizes the truth while the rest of the animals get worked up trying to figure out how to impress God and others are worried they are not good enough. The owl teaches them that God does not NEED to come because he is always there and he loves you for who you are. <Cue the tissues>. I read this to my 2 kids and they absolutely enjoyed the book as well.

This was a great reminder that you don’t have to do anything “special” to impress god. Just be yourself because you are loved!

What do you think when you hear that God is coming to visit. Excited, scared, thankful? There are many emotions. A funny group of animals that your child can relate to hear that God is coming and they are scared because well it's God and with that there may be expectations. Am I good enough, do I do enough. A good start for our children to understand their relationship with God. There is nothing we can do to be good enough. It leads to getting to know who God is and why he came. The animals are colorful and quite humorous.

A special thank you to Flyaway Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Such a cute, beautifully illustrated story!

God’s Coming to Visit is perfect for the young child learning about Gods presence. The animals in the story start preparing for God’s visit. Some do the best, most impressive things they can think of. Some hide. Some know that God already knows and sees all so panicking is silly. This piece of the story is such an important introduction to a discussion about God always being present.

When God doesn’t “visit” the animals are sad. Until the owl tells them God is alway with them. This part was confusing for a second for my child to understand why the owl knew.

The drawings of the animals are gorgeous. The cute little speech bubbles add a light hearted piece to this story. This book was great for discussing God and how he’s everywhere. This is a hard concept to understand (especially for. 5 year old) and this story had such a cute way of making this topic light and comfortable!

I loved everything about this book! The illustrations are both funny and beautiful and would definitely appeal to children. There is so much going on in every picture, so plenty to hold their interest. I also loved the message that this book conveys – God is always with us. Pre-Covid I used to read the children’s story at our church, and I know this book would be a hit with children and adults alike. Thank you so much for letting me read an advanced copy.

A short picture all about God's love. This story explores that God loves you always.

"... it wasn't always easy. Sometimes the world was hard to understand. But they understood this... God was with them for more than a visit. God was with them to stay."

This book contains child friendly quality illustrations and age appropriate language. This book reminds me of All Afloat on Noah's Boat by Tony Mitton illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees. I would recommend God's Coming to Visit! to all Christian families and also think it would make a lovely gift for a baptism.
