This gave some pretty straight forward tips about keeping sane with your inbox like unsubscribing from emails and checking it as few times as possible.
If you're at all like me, you need this book, and it will be one you might refer to from time to time as things get overwhelming... but definitely able to be implemented :)
Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a simple and quick read which will help you get through your inbox. The first day after reading this book, I finally got to inbox zero! Here is to keeping it up.
In this book, Thomas helps lay out a basic plan for rethinking how to tackle your email inbox. There are some great basic principles here about why you shouldn't use your email as a task list, how to get less email, how to better filter the email you do get, how to budget time for email (about 2 min / email to process), and has a great process for evaluating email in the processing phase. I'm excited to give this a try. I also appreciated the tips on writing quality emails that are less likely to generate needless replies.
Less satisfying, however, is the process of moving items to your task list, for which the author refers you to one of her previous books. Without this process, it felt like she wasn't really closing the loop of what you do with your tasks once you move them out of your email box.
Finally, the last chapter is about hosting meetings and felt like maybe it didn't fit in this book? It was a confusing addition.
Overall, there were some useful tips here and I'm glad I read it.
