I received this ARC for an honest review:

The third book in this series has Holly who wants to find love herself being part of an arraigned marriage. She of course is not happy but she feels she needs to do this for her family. She of course is more frustrated when she finds out that she is to marry the monster, Romero. He does not love does not want or let anyone close to him, wants nothing to do with this marriage but goes along with it. Once they married he finds out just how strong Holly is and she tells no to everything and I mean everything until she has feelings for and she for him.
While this is going on you of course find out more about Holly and just the amount of what she controls in the family, all of the money. So by the time she is kidnapped Romero has come around to wanting to find her and kill the person who took her. Once you get into the story everything works, yes there are things that bug me but it is just a story. Most of the real badass men I know don’t go around saying all the time you just know it, and really doll face is something from the 30s and 40s, but it goes with the story. The woman is the real strength of these books. So a good book that falls in line with the others though the first two were better.

Thank you to Brooke Summers, NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

I have read this series sort of backwards, beginning with book four and then ending with book three. I didn't love this book and I think it had to do with Italian Mafia mixing with Irish Mafia, which made the entire series unbelievable. It just doesn't happen. But then an Irish bride being promised to an Italian Capo. It just doesn't happen.

I see a lot of reviewers talking about Rome and how is not in love with Holly. I found that more realistic than insta-love. I actually liked Rome as a character. He cared for his wife but didn't fall instantly in love with her. That was the most realistic scenario I found in this book.

I think Brooke Summers is a brilliant writer, and I have loved reading this series. This book just didn't excite me.

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series so eagerly started reading this third book and I can assure you—it did not disappoint me in any way, shape, or form. This story is fantastic!

I thoroughly enjoyed both lead characters, Holly and Romero, who were upfront and honest with each other… well to a degree… Holly’s temper was an awakening for him. 😆 This couple was so good together with their explosive passion and depth of care.

As you would expect in a mafia-based story there were heaps of nail-biting action that kept you on the edge of your seat with anticipation and at times abject fear. There’s plenty of drama, mainly family-based, to liven things up too. 😉

This is a fast-paced story and one that is hard to put down. My only complaint now is… I need the next book now, Shattered.

I absolutely, absolutely loved this book! Firstly, let's take a minute to just APPRECIATE Brooke's writing. She has an absolute talent for engaging you with the story and making you feel like you're A PART of it.

I was instantly fascinated by both Holly and Romero and after the synopsis, I was so curious to see how the story would develop. The synopsis talks about how Holly's hopes are shattered of finding love and being happy unlike her parents when she realizes she has to marry Romero, a monster. And how Romero followed the rules and nothing could break his resolve about keeping the Famiglia first, until Holly and how he'd do anything to protect her. In most mafia books as such, it's usually the girl instantly falling in love for no reason while the broody mafia man refuses to acknowledge anything has changed or his feelings. So I loved that this was different from the get-go.

I just loved everything about this book. The plot, the action, the romance, Holly & Romero, and the writing of course. AND I loved that Holly wasn't shown as the quiet, innocent girl who- literally- does nothing and has no personality whatsoever as we'd been led to believe a little. In fact, she's a spitfire, who stands up for herself and doesn't take crap from anyone. And Romero? Where do I even begin? He's a new addition to my long list of mafia book boyfriends. I loved that he was cruel and ruthless and merciless all throughout (yes, I'm aware I need therapy), even after being married to Holly and falling in love. And yet, he cared for her SO deeply. You could tell so easily.

Overall, this book should be on the top of your TBR if you like mafia romance.

This is book three and is the story of Holly Gallagher and Romero Bianchi. If you are a lover of all things mafia/mob/bratva like myself you will absolutely love this series. Fantastic read!

Fragile Union - The Made Series - Book #3 - Brooke Summers
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely loving this gritty, no holds barred mafia series.

Romero Bianchi is a made man, part of the Bianchi family with now Italian and Irish mafia connections. He’s opportunity to become an Underboss comes with a complication…. He must marry Holly Gallagher…. Daughter of his Irish Boss in order to unite the families and take his place.

This book started on a slow build but quickly escalated to a bloody crescendo…… leaving me gasping and madly reading to get answers to the bloody carnage.

Superbly complicated characters with brilliantly twisted minds but very big hearts. They may be dangerous but they love wholeheartedly and Rome and Holly are the proof that love can conquer the worst on people.

Can’t wait to read more from this series. I’m addicted.

Just telling you that this is another great book to add to the series. Holly is awesome , she comes off as meek and quite but don't cross her because she can be feisty. She loves so deep and is very loyal. She is as crazy as the other girls. Love her!! Romero ... where to start.... he is crazy crazy crazy and so strong. Now this story is messed up with triggers and I mean triggers so remember that when going in. I loved that the characters from the other books were in this and yes all the crazy women get together. I can't wait to get the next one !!!

I think my expectations were a bit high for this one. After meeting McKenna in book one in all her fem fatale badassness I keep hoping for more heroines like her without acknowledging she’s one of a kind. The heroine here Holly may be McKennas niece and involved in the family business but she’s not a crucial part of it and has no place making decisions. She has a much more demure spirit when compared to her aunt. I did like seeing her come to bat when needed and I only wish it wasn’t just every time Rome’s crazy ex showed up. There is a bunch of OW drama with a psycho chick who can’t take no for an answer. I will say I did enjoy the book and watching Holly and Romero adapt in their forced marriage. It’s all business and Holly accepts her fate as does Rome who only agrees so he can become an underboss in the organization. Neither plan for love nor do they have any romantic entanglements before marrying. It took time for them to grow together and learn to know one another-more than just their bodies. In this respect the book felt a little rushed for me to believe these two are suddenly so deep in love. Much of the time we see them together is when their having sex and I really wish I felt they got out of the lust phase and actually fell in love. There are quite a few time jumps but personally I feel like that’s where a lot of the development could have taken place and without it I felt like I was teetering a bit. Sure I can believe them being in love happens over time but it just felt out of nowhere on her part and a little maddening on his as he was so adamant against being able to love it was beyond frustrating. Not to mention it only took two attempts on her life and being kidnapped for him to realize what she meant to him. I think I just never warmed to Rome after his shitty attitude, cruel words and harsh nature. While he was obsessed with Holly and extremely possessive, it didn’t come off as sexy like the previous two heroes behaviors and words did. For a bit of time early on Holly became a shell of herself being treated like a thing rather than his wife. Sure he had respect for her and really did want to protect her but to be two different men to her depending on if there were others present is pretty unacceptable to me. Is it odd that I finally started liking him when that non feeling killer inside of him came out to seek vengeance? I mean in my defense everyone talked about how scary he was, I just wanted a demonstration. (If I’m being honest, he’s harsh but damn if McKenna and Melissa weren’t the real crazies here. Note: mess with their family & prepare to quite literally be scalped 😵😵
There was a decent amount of action in the book and sadly some characters do die. What’s this series without one, two or even three shootouts? I feel like it’s been long enough since I read the last two books that these deaths didn’t affect me as deeply as they normally would have as I was disconnected from the characters and didn’t really remember them. Not to prepare yourself if you’re binging these….
This time around the end (I’m hoping) set up two or even possibly three future storylines and I’m living for them all. First is Holly’s father who is very unhappily married to a demon spawn that makes everyone’s lives miserable. We learn she’s only been allowed to remain alive because of some leverage she holds over his head. She persists in being an utter piece of shit throughout the book and when I finally heard holly's dad had a girlfriend and was happy I should have known this B would mess it up. I smell heartbreak, drama and a story I need. Hollys cousin Jade is also thrown in prison for manslaughter for a crime she may or may not have even committed. All I know is the little I learned about her the more I wanted…. Lastly was Dante and Romero’s brother Alessio who I really kinda hated on throughout the book. I’m still not sure where I stand on his character. Hearing about him being in love with a Russian assassin who he cheated on with a skank and caused her to run has me feeling a whole lot of ways including vindictive as I can only imagine the pain she will inflict on him, what can I say I’m here for it. This story was good but I’m definitely looking forward to whoever and whatever’s next for this crazy cast of characters.

I couldn’t connect with these characters. And that’s from someone who loves mafia stories. To be fair, I have not read the prior stories in this series. So it is possible that’s some of my issues. I read consistently until around 30% and then skipped around to the end. Just not the book for me.

Fragile Union is the third book in Brooke Summer’s Made Series. It is told in Dual POV and it is Holly and Romero’s story. This book is considered an interconnected standalone but I definitely recommend reading the series in order because there is so much amazing world building that will only be glossed over if you only read Fragile Union.
How does this series keep getting better?! Brooke has an amazing insight into walking the line of romance and violence that sometimes doesn’t translate well in Mafia Trope. This book is emotional and gritty. Brooke doesn’t sugarcoat the dark and bloody violence of what it is to live the mafia lifestyle, but she counterbalances it perfectly with swoon worthy romance and off the charts chemistry. Romero and Holly’s marriage was supposed to be nothing short of a business transaction. It was to tie the Bianchi’s and the Gallagher’s together even more and let Romero get promoted to an Underboss for the Clann. Holly seems like such a different character than the women we are used to seeing in this series. But I should have remembered- Brooke doesn’t do the wilting flower Mafia Princess thing. Do not underestimate Holly! Romero wasn’t my favorite Bianchi brother before, but his character development in this book shoves him into amazing book boyfriend territory. Not gonna lie Holly and Romero are an amazing couple and I loved seeing them navigate a marriage that honestly started out as two strangers, but let me tell you this book will put you through the emotional ringer. The previous books made me hold my breath and they gripped my heart… this one totally made me cry. The plot thickens and I can’t wait to see what’s next for these Families!

I definitely freaked the freak out after getting accepted to dive into Fragile Union. This entire series has been a chaotic roller coaster and I've loved every second of it. Even though each one had it's one predictability throughout it, I've still found some thing to be excited over. Plus I've been patiently waiting to dive into Romero and Holly's book. There was just something about these two that made me super excited to read about their love.

So it's safe to assume that this didn't disappoint. I think it's probably because each mafia family just adds a whole new level of craziness to this book. I feel like at one point I'm going to forget who is apart of which mafia due to all the marriages being formed. I'll still find a way to enjoy it all though and that's what really matters - right?

Other than that, the desperate villain in this one was a nice touch. From the very first moment of meeting her, I hated the girl. Loathed her entirely. I wanted her head on a pike just to make me happy. Yet, everyone just teased me until the end.

Then there's the ending, ugh, that damn cliffhanger. I'm not sad or emotional over it because it was bound to happen but I just want to know who did it. So I can give them a high five or something.

Danger, suspense, betrayal, loyalty, sexy broken Alpha, and quiet, beautiful, smart, and dangerous women, all of this is in this book and series. I love the Alpha males, and the sexy, smart, dangerous women that show these men that there is more to life than being broken and alone.

Romero is given a chance to be an underboss for his sister in-law in the Irish mob that is now joined with the Italian mob, due to the marriage of Makenna and Dante are united in marriage. Romero’s chance comes with a wife though. He is offered the hand of Makenna’s niece Holly Gallagher, a woman he has never met, nor seen. She lives in Ireland where the family rules in various places. He’s willing to marry her, but he vows not to fall in love with her. He’s a monster and is not capable of love.

Holly Gallagher has her own place in the family business, but no one talks about it, nor do they advertise it. She’s just a shy, quiet beauty in the family that is being offered to her aunt’s brother in-law. She’s also independent, smart, and a bit on the devious side, I love her!

I am loving The Made Series books. The men may be lethal, broody, and very ruthless, but the women can hold their own with these men. Don’t let them fool you. This story is tragic, steamy, and wonderful. The characters are always fun to read, and the stories keep me on the edge of my seat. I love them and I give this story a 5-star review. I can’t wait to read Shattered Union. These books keep getting better with each story, and Shattered Union looks to be headed in the same direction. If you are looking for a series with hot, Alpha, mafia men who are shown up by their women on occasion, and are broken, but able to heal with the right woman by their sides, you should pick up The Made Series, by Brooke Summer.

This is the third book in the Made series. While you could probably read it as a standalone, you’ll miss so much! This series is getting so much better. I loved book 1, and this book beat it! I was swallowed up by the action, excitement, danger—the intensity was fantastic. Holly and Romero (Rome) were great characters. My one complaint: Romero’s pet name for Holly being “Doll Face”. That’s my preference, it simply wasn’t appealing to me. Learning about Romero’s tragic history, it makes so much sense why he thinks he can’t love. His care for Holly grows by the hour. I enjoyed Holly’s character so much—innocent but sensual and curious, quietly working for her family, compassionate and loving. Strong, yet tender and feminine. Holly really made the book for me. The extended family is emerging, and I am looking forward to meeting these characters in future books. Ms Summers, thank you for such an entertaining read.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

This book was a great, fast-paced, suspense-filled story of characters I already fell in love with in the first book in this series, Bloody Union. I knew I loved Kenna and Dante in the first book, of course love Melissa and Danny too, but I think Rome and Holly may be my favorite.

As for character development, as usual- Brooke Summers has knocked it out of the park. I hate and love Rome’s story because it made him into who he is. I love that he was a protector from the time he was a child. I love that Holly loves his protectiveness, but can also take care of her damn self. She may look weak and fragile on the outside, but the girl has got some guts, just like all of Summers’ female characters which I LOVE.

I love that Rome is able to show and share some of his vulnerability with Holly. I love that Holly loves her family so much- her blood and the family she married into.

I wanted to STRANGLE Alessio multiple times in this book. Putting that rage aside, I really hope the next book in this series is about him.

Overall, I really enjoyed being back in the land of the Irish/Italian mafia. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I will say though- if there’s one thing I didn’t necessarily love about this book, it has to be the nicknames. They felt a little corny, especially considering who these people were and what they did for a living, but Holly seemed to light up at the term of endearment so I guess we’ll go with it! Anyway, like I said, overall really enjoyed it and hope you will take a chance on this one too!

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and my word, this author just keeps getting better and better! This is Romero and Holly’s story. Romero’s life is the mafia, and to protect his family at all costs, and he does not so relationships as he does not want attachments. Holly does not want to be bitter like her mother, she wants a life where she can be happy, and she is not happy when her family organises an arranged marriage for her with Romero. As Rome and Holly get to know each other she knocks down the walls around his heart, and when an ex of his come to cause trouble, this just makes their relationship more solid. When Holly is kidnapped, there is no stone which will remain unturned for Rome to find her. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and undeniable. This is a well written emotional roller coaster which is intense, and filled with action, violence, danger, suspense, drama, angst, family dynamics, and love, which all leads to a steamy and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Fragile Union is book three in the Made series by Brooke Summers and is Holly and Romero's book. This book makes book one and two look like child's play. There are graphic scenes that might be too much for some, so read at your own risk. This book is intense and full of family dysfunction. I can't wait to see what happens next

Holly always knew that she’d marry one day for “the family “, but Romero, the new Underboss of the combined Italian/Irish mafia, seems to hate her. Their union is for the good of the family but they argue about everything and only seem to spend time together at night (steamy times aplenty in this book) so how can this marriage ever work? But soon Holly and Romero realize there’s more to marriage than the politics and through some exciting and dramatic terms their relationship develops into something more. This is book three in the Made series. Romero’s cockiness is not exactly endearing but he soon begins to grow on you as you learn more of his backstory, and Holly seems to hide her strength at first although she does start to evolve as well. While you do not need to read the books in the series I highly recommend that you do for greater enjoyment. This book has a good blend of steaminess, action and intrigue and I can’t wait for book four. 4 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.
