Another great romantic suspense novel with characters readers will fall in love with and a storyline that never slows down!

Erin Larson is a criminal psychologist whose career and life are almost over after a boating accident. Shortly thereafter, she learns that her mother has tried to commit suicide. Taking a leave of absence from her job to care for her mother, she moves to Montana and focuses her attention on a podcast of missing person cold cases that go all the way back to her childhood. Nathan Campbell’s case calls to Erin when her mother is in the hospital bringing their past relationship to the surface. When his father is shot investigating a case, Nathan asks Erin to help him get to the bottom of what is happening. As they work together, they determine they are being targeted and the more they uncover the more danger they are all in.

Deadly Target started great but ended even better. I loved the turn it took, sucking me into the story even more. Each problem Erin encounters leads to another clue being uncovered about a past she wants to leave behind. Goddard did a fantastic job of creating a story and characters that I couldn’t help but root for and want to know all of their deepest, darkest secrets. The story flowed at a very smooth pace and never made me want to put the book down. I finished the story in a single day.

Erin is a strong female lead that carries the story in a way that is easy to follow and believable. This is the second book in the series but can be read on its own without missing out on much from the first in the series. There are some secondary characters from the first that make an appearance, but it won’t take away from the story itself. I love the way it wrapped up and characters we thought weren’t important played an important role by the end. I recommend this book to fans of romantic suspense and if you haven’t given Elizabeth Goddard a chance, I would pick this one up immediately.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

This author did not disappoint with this book. I could not put this book down from page one till the end. It defiantly started off with a twist and the author kept them coming from start to finish. I really liked Erin she was a fighter and she loves hard and cares for those close to her. I liked Nathan as well he Loved his dad and would do anything for him including getting to the bottom of who's after him and those he loves. I liked that even in the end when you finally have an idea of who did it that author those you a curve ball you didn't see coming and leaves you wanting so much more. Overall this book was well worth the read, its a clean read and will not disappoint.

Erin and Nathan are in a fight for their lives as they try to solve the cold case Nathan's dad was working on. There is danger at every turn. I really enjoyed this story, it was full of suspense and danger and even though I thought I knew who the villain was, I was wrong. The story is full of danger, romance, and mystery. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I actually liked this one better than the first book.

Deadly Target is the second of the Rocky Mountain Courage series about three friends united when they each have a family member killed helping those caught in an avalanche. Erin's story is one action packed from the beginning when she and her friend are run down by a boat where they are kayaking on Puget Sound. At the same time, her old boyfriend Nathan called to say that her mom tried to commit suicide back in Montana so she heads home. Then Nathan's father, back from Boston for a visit, is shot while the two are fishing. Whew! There are a lot of things going on to keep up with. Nathan and Erin work together to find answers and their lives are in danger but who is the target in all the dangerous activity. This is filled with cold cases - those that Erin is doing a podcast about and those that Nathan's dad was working on. Are they in some way connected? How are Erin and her mom involved? Nathan and his dad? Expect suspense, loose threads, bad guys, all sprinkled with faith, romance, and maybe a second chance. We do get to see characters from the previous story in the awesome setting of the rugged country of the Rockies in Montana.
I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

Deadly Target is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series. I've had the privilege of reading both books and I enjoyed this book as much as the first.

There's secrets, drama, angst, family, reconnections, a second-chance romance, danger, and suspense. There were so many twists and turns, it kept me wondering what would happen next...and I was completely surprised at the underlying cause of everything. I may not have agreed with some of Erin's decisions, but I loved her and Nathan together.

I highly recommend this book any anyone who enjoys Christian romantic suspense.

Sweet Quote: "She could stay in his arms forever and hoped he would never let her go." .......
"She listened to the strong, steady beat of his (Nathan's) heart.
The security, the stability she'd been searching for had been there waiting for her all along."

Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation

This one fell a little flat for me. Things felt disjointed and spread all over. Seattle. Boston. Montana. Too many events in too many places. And Erin’s reasons for pushing people away felt hollow. I’m sure any one would feel bad about what happened but it didn’t seem like enough to run from people. I didn’t quite get why she felt broken.

I did not suspect where things were going at all! There were lots of surprises. At the end things picked up and moved quickly and I got into the story more. It was a wild conclusion.

Deadly Target is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series, but the first book I have read by Elizabeth Goddard. There is no need to have read the first book of the series, this book is a terrific read that can be read on its own and I will be reading more by this author.
This suspense has psychologist Erin Larson who is called home to help her mom after an attempted suicide. Erin does a cold case podcast on the side and is covering the story of a missing girl. Danger and near death experiences start to follow Erin and her ex-boyfriend Nathan who still lives in Montana as a detective. They team up to try and solve who is after them and why.
The storyline took turns that surprised me as Nathan and Erin solve the mystery of who was after them and why. I would definitely recommend this to those who love romantic suspense.
I received a complimentary copy of Deadly Target through NetGalley, but all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read much of Elizabeth Goddard's writing before but I enjoyed book one of this series and so really wanted to read the second book. I loved all the twists and turns in this book. It was great to see how everything was so interconnected. I enjoyed the fact that although there were some predictable parts of the book, there was also some unexpected twists and turns. If you love suspense with a sliver of romance, definitely check this book out.

Dr. Erin Larson, a criminal psychologist, has devoted her career to help solve cold cases by delving into the minds of criminals. Her world is shattered when she is called home to Montana after her mom tries to commit suicide. Nathan Campbell is a detective in Erin’s home town and her ex-boyfriend. When his dad comes to visit and tells Nathan he talked with Erin’s mom about a week before her suicide attempt, Nathan couldn’t understand the connection. His dad, a detective in Boston, tells Nathan he needs his help with a case with possible ties to a cold case he read about. The one thing he says is in case anything happens to him, to trust no one, and then a shot rings out. With his dad in the hospital, Nathan reaches out to Erin for help. Erin is determined to help but harbors dark secrets of her own. As they dig deeper, they become targets and struggle to stay one step ahead. Could there be a connection between Erin’s past and the case Nathan’s dad was working on? When more information becomes available, the possibility of organized crime, cover-ups and dirty cops emerge; who can they trust? This is an excellent book with a lot of suspense that keeps the reader guessing and wanting more!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for my honest review. I highly recommend this book!

Rocky Mountain Courage series continues in this action-packed suspense. Loved the podcast and wished there had been more episodes. Erin hiding her "big" secret from Nathan didn't ring true. Readers get set for a enjoyable adventure with unforeseeable twists and turns. Looking forward to the book in this series.

Can you run from your past? Will it consume you? You are about to find out as you turn the pages of this Christian suspense read, a book that will quickly become a page turner!

There are so many twists and turns to this story, I never figured it all out, and most I never saw coming!

There is a bit of sweet romance, and yet because of the past, our Erin gave up, can she share her heart again? Will Nathan be willing to risk again, as they join forces to find answers, and will the answers come in time?

This is the second book in this series, but it is a read alone, both are excellent!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

This non-stop, fast-paced romantic suspense thriller had me on the edge of my seat and advising the characters about what they needed to do next to stay safe. Beginning with an attempted assassination with a boat and moving to gunshot wounds and exploding dams, the action in the book never let up. There are twists galore that kept me reading and guessing until the very satisfying conclusion. The characters of Nathan and Erin were so human, with flaws and doubts just like all of us have. I really enjoyed the heroics of Nathan and the determination of Erin. The character that surprised me was Erin’s mom Celia, a lady with a strong will and a lot of secrets from the past. I enjoyed reading about characters from the first book in the series, but this one can definitely be read as a standalone without creating any confusion at all. With spot on tension and intense drama, the book called to the mystery lover in me and touched all of the right buttons to enthrall me. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a fast pace and a heart-thumping adventure.

Evil wouldn’t let her forget that it existed, even for a few hours.

An innocent kayaking afternoon ends in an unexpected swim in Puget Sound. Obviously an accident - perhaps someone ill or inebriated. A botched suicide that wasn’t really a suicide? Attempted murder, hired assassins, missing persons, a cold case podcast, nightmares, clandestine meetings and more. This book is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!

The author takes us deep into the world of cold cases, with plot lines that make you start to wonder if they might all be tied together somehow. For Erin, as a criminal psychologist, all the stability she’d fought for and gained was crumbling away. Could the detectives finally get to the bottom of all these riddles or were more people destined to die? Was there a silver lining in all this chaos?

An ARC was received through Revell, Baker Publishing Group and NetGalley. These impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.

This author has done it again. Book 2 of the Rocky Mountain Courage series tells the story of friends Nathan and Erin as they race to find out who is trying to kill them. A gripping romantic suspense that can easily be read as a stand alone. This book had me up late at night unable to put it down. I was on the edge of my seat and was unable to find a stopping point because the end of each chapter had me begging for more. I love the way the story was able to be seamlessly brought together in the end. You will walk away from this read begging for more. I can't wait for book 3 in the series and hope to finally learn the story behind Alex.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

SUSPENSE, INTRIGUE & MURDER!

“How much more will we have to tgo through before this is over?” And if there was a next time, would they both survive?

Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage Book #2) is full of suspense, intrigue and murder! Author Elizabeth Goddard is one of the top Christian Romantic Suspense writers as is proven by many Awards she has won. It will only take reading one of her works to convince you to immediately want to read MORE! Deadly Target may be read as a stand alone but should be read in sequential order for the reader to really be able to piece in the background of the story. This is another thrilling addition that I enjoyed from start to finish!

Goddard has once again provided readers with a beautiful word picture using the opening setting of a lovely boating outing on the Puget Sound. Criminal psychologist Erin Larson’s successful career almost comes to an end when she is involved in a serious boating accident and almost simultaneously learns that her mother tried to commit suicide. She returns to Montana to take care of her Mom as she recovers and because she does not buy the suicide attempt story. Also, at least Erin can continue her podcasts focusing on missing person cold cases. Nathan Campbell’s father was investigating one such case when he was shot and now he needs Erin’s help to solve the case. She is really good at what she does. There is just one problem. And it is a major problem . . . because Erin is Nathan’s ex! They decide to put their pasts aside to work together in an attempt to solve the case but realize all to soon that they are targets as well! As much as Erin would like to ignore the possibility, the reality is the key to solving this mystery seems to be in a buried deep in a memory that Erin longs to forget. They must fight for the truth to win out and to face what they still may feel for each other.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Revell & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without opinion.

Deadly Target by Elizabeth Goddard is book two in the Rocky Mountain Courage series. This is a good stand alone story that does reference some of the characters from the previous story. Erin has come home to care for her mother who attempted suicide and gets pulled into an investigation of who attempted to kill Nathan’s father.

This is a very well written Christian Romantic Suspense story that is full of action and suspense that I found it hard to put down. The story has many twist and turns that keeps the story just building to the very end. I enjoyed reading how Erin and Nathan deal with their past relationship while they work together to find out who is after his father and why.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher as part of the launch team. This is my honest review.

“This wasn’t the best time to fall in love.”

I’ve been looking forward to this book since finishing Book 1, Present Danger! Elizabeth Goddard is so good at capturing my attention and writing a story full of twists and turns that keeps me guessing!

Erin Larson is a criminal psychologist and narrates a podcast that concentrates on cold cases. Her life in Seattle is turned upside down when she and a friend are nearly killed by a boat while kayaking. While still on the boat that rescues them, she receives some news that’s almost impossible to believe.. the news her mom attempted suicide.

Delivering the news was none other than her ex, Detective Nathan Campbell from back home in Montana. Not sure what else to do, Erin moves home to support her mom- who is insisting she didn’t try to kill herself. Then, Nathan’s estranged father shows up in Montana and has something important to discuss with him. Out in the woods on a fishing trip, he shares with Nathan a few details of a case he’s digging into… but he barely begins when he’s shot!

They might be estranged, but Nathan and Erin were once the best of friends… and they each need a friend now. Erin agrees to help Nathan look into what his father was working on. But she never anticipated the twists and turns the case would take… eventually leading back to her biggest secret.. and the very reason she broke Nathan’s heart years ago.

I really enjoyed this story! From the early adrenaline rushes to the nuances of the case, I was swept away in the story and just kept turning the pages. There were so many threads all woven together, I was as mixed up as Erin and Nathan (in a good way). I definitely didn’t anticipate the big twist! If you are looking for romantic suspense that will keep you guessing, definitely pick up Deadly Target. I truly enjoyed my time spent in the pages of this story.

I received a complementary copy of this book from the author and publisher. All opinions are my own.
