This is the second book in the series, and wow, it is even better than the first book! I enjoyed this so much, the intrigue, the drama, everything, can't wait to see where it goes in book 3! Recommended.
A whodunit book with lots of mystery and suspense. Personally, I did not like the shifting point of view each chapter. It was confusing and annoying to have to wait to see what happened after a previous chapter ended with a cliff hanger. Ultimately, the book seemed to be about divorce and emphasized the negativity of it. Although the main character fought this stigma, it still left a lasting impression.
The format of this book was one I could not download and read. It is disappointing to have this happen so much lately.

Eva Rae Thomas has retired from the FBI and moved her three kids back home to Coca Beach, Florida. Eva is a recently single mom to her three kids, and she promised them that she would use her time to make a happy home life. Unfortunately, that is a promise she is unable to keep as more children turn up missing.. can she solve the murder?
This is the first book I have read by Willow Rose. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to read more by this author. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed!
After her husband leaves her for a younger woman, Eva Rae Thomas quits her job as an FBI profiler and moves back home to Cocoa Beach, FL, with her 3 kids. As they adjust to their new life, Eva Rae gets tangled up in a local case after a young girl kidnapped 3 months ago shows up dead. What I liked about this book: fast paced, quick read, and twists that I never saw coming. What could have been better: some of the plot elements were too far-fetched, as were Eva Rae's "chaotic" parenting skills. Overall, a recommended read if you're in the mood for a quick distraction.
This is the second boom by Willow Rose I have read. And it did not disappoint! It kept me on the edge of my seat, very suspenseful, the characters were very well done, and the plot was very well written. I hope to see more of the romance blooming in the next book! Absolutely recommend this book. Look for the authors other books as well!
This was a good book. The characters were well fleshed out, the plot kept moving at a good pace and the ending was unanticipated. The romance was a little underdeveloped though. I would like to keep reading the series to find out what happens next.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This doesn't impact my opinion in any way.
The plot of the book was such a great page turner. The plot of the book was very well written. I truly cannot wait to read another wonderful book from this author. This was a truly great book.
Eva retired from the FBI and now is a newly single mother of three kids. She finds the body of a little girl that went missing from a summer camp. Eva comes out of retirement to help Cocoa Beach Detective Matt Miller to solve this murder. Honestly this is the first book i've read by Willow Rose, Will be reading more soon.
The book was great, interesting characters, fast changing and twisting plot- exactly what I love! I would recommend this book to my friends and family!

Kidnapped and murdered children, divorce as the worst thing that can happen to children, abuse and child neglect with very disjointed writing, and that's just the first half of the book. Fortunately, after all the angst and multiple story lines, it all starts to come together and the last half is like what a mystery/suspense plot should be.
Eva Rae Thomas has quit the FBI and moved her three kids back home to Coca Beach, Florida. Eva now has total charge of her kids and is having trouble keeping up with their active lives. That was her househusband's responsibility before he opted out of it all. When she finds the body of a local 12 year old surfing phenom, Eva is right back in solve it mode, even if she has no authority whatsoever. And, she promised her kids she would not get involved in any police work and just be a mom for the first time in their lives. Unfortunately, that is a promise she is unable to keep as more children turn up missing.
DLtM by W. Rose is an Eva Rae Thomas Mystery, the firt book in this series, published by Buoy Media. I'm so happy I gave this book a try. I started reading and connected immediatedly with the characters, fell in love with Eva and their children, even the secondary charaters are exquisit.
Eva and her children just moved back in her hometown after an unpleasant separation from husband and father. Eva, the former FBI Profiler, now writer, has to sort out her life, her workaholic days seem over now. What she didn't expected is that just being a mom is trying to put it nicely. Her stay at home husband had a lot on his shoulders and now its her solely job.
The story is told in a multiple povs, jumps between past and present and has a plottwist I never had dreamed of.
A fantastic read, complex, unputdownable, highly recommendable, 5 stars.

2.5 Hearts NetGalley had a number of books by this author so I thought I would request the first in each series. I almost wish I hadn’t. There is just something off about the writing style of this author. Her writing is all over the place. It never seems to flow.
There are a lot of the same things going on. Kidnappings, murders and then the ending just didn’t jive with the story.
Just not my cup of tea.

Great book. Lots of mystery, suspense and intrigue. There is no point where the reader would feel bored. The plot was good and has been executed well.
This was a fast paced but choppy story about Eva Ray Thomas investigating some missing and murdered children. Eva Ray is a newly divorced single mother who has also just left her profession as a FBI agent to work on her book writing. I had a difficult time liking Eva Ray. She was a forgetful, even neglectful, mother and a non-methodical investigative agent. Her profession as a FBI agent seemed implausible given her scattered actions. The romance with Matt also seemed unrealistic as there was no romantic interactions between the two. I liked the twist at the end however the reactions upon the discovery of the shocking news was so underplayed, it was absurd.
Willow Rose is a very prolific author, writing series and syand alones in pretty much every genre. I've read many of her books. DONT LIE TO ME is the first book in her Eva Rae series and as in every first book, backdround and characters must be established. This often causes a first book to be clunky and a slower read, as is the case in this one. Since I have read so many of her books, I can tell you, this will pay off as the series develops.
Ms Rose often places some very unusual twists into her books, giving readers a shake as you move through the story. You will definitely not coast through her books.
I discovered Willow Rose on NetGalley and cannot wait to read each and every one of her novels now. Don't Lie to Me" is a light, easy read but full of suspense. I loved this novel so much, and highly recommend you find her novels and sit down for a long read!
This is the first book in a new series featuring former FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas. Eva Rae has returned to her hometown with her children newly divorced and out of a job. She quickly becomes involved in a murder and then a kidnapping when her old flame, Matt Miller a local law enforcement officer, asks for her help. Her character is not believable as ex FBI making bad decisions not only as a trained profiler but as a mother as well. Usually when I don’t connect with the main protagonist I don’t enjoy the book but in this case I still really enjoyed the novel and look forward to reading the series.
Great start to the series! I was drawn in right away by the main character, Eva Rae Thomas, and the way the events in her life over the last few years have changed drastically and how she is handling it. Her background is important in the events of the murders that she ends up investigating especially how it affects her children. Great suspense with an unexpected twist. I will be reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
