This was a cute counting book that I would definitely use for storytimes. I like that it is also a zoo book so you get a 2 in 1 learning experience.
I really liked the way that the author wrote out the numbers and showed children that numbers can be represented lots of different ways. Some of our students really need this explicitly taught, and I like that it was put into the story. I also liked the illustrations of the animals and the rhymed. I'm not sure I'm as enthusiastic about a story where all the animals are cruel pranksters on the numbers, but the rhymes are fun and I can see preschoolers enjoying the story and laughing. I just hope they don't learn that these pranks are good!
As a mother of young children, and having taught elementary school, this book is perfect for kids. Teaching children to get comfortable with their numbers, and having fun doing it! I would recommend this book in pre k and kindergarten classes!
This was a cute little children's book! My kids enjoyed the fun rhymes to help learn the numbers and it was a fun touch to have it in Spanish as well.
Numbers 1-10 Go to the Zoo is a good counting book for young children. I like the rhyming throughout the story and the reinforcement of each number. The Spanish pronunciation is a bonus! This would be a great addition to a 4's preschool class.
Although I would read this in class, I would encourage parents to read it at home with their children. The animals are not always kind but numbers 5 and 10 do outsmart them.
A great book that helps interest children that are learning to count.
Not only that but also teaches you how to write the number as a word, how to say it in Spanish, how many fingers 5o hold up etc so had Multi learning possibilities.
Easy to understand text and great illustrations too
A great tool to teach kids to count to 10. Didn't love how some numbers end up being considered better than others. They really are all the same. But still effective with the teaching component.
A wonderful counting book for children! Interactive for younger children who may not be able to read the full story (say the number, show the number etc). Bright and colourful illustrations! A lovely introduction to numbers 1-10
this book really has it all!
this book is filled with activities that help you learn and write numbers, memorizing hand signals, and even another language.
it’s a really fun and interactive workbook. it’s easy on the parents/teachers and fun for the children! both parties will greatly benefit from this book!
Thank you NetGalley, the author and publishers for allowing me this opportunity to review this book!
This was a pretty cool book. You can practice writing your numbers, hand signs, and Spanish! This was educational and interactive. I would use this book. It can be a story book, but also a workbook!
This wonderful number book is bright and colourful and full of lots of learning for children. Not only does it introduce the numbers 1-10, but it also shows the number itself, it’s spelling, how many fingers to hold up to show the number on your hand and the number in Spanish. So there’s a vast variety of different ways for children to learn about the number. It is shown in a story about the numbers and their adventures as they visit the zoo. During this visit we are introduced to the zoo animals and some of the mishaps and silliness that the numbers encounter.
I think this is a fab book to promote numeracy for little ones. I think they will enjoy the story, the illustrations compliment it perfectly, making it easy to understand and fun to follow.
**I received an advanced copy of this ebook to read and review. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publishers for allowing me this opportunity **
This is a great book that I would recommend for purchase for home libraries, school collections, etc. It reminds me of books that I would consume with rapid fire as as young kid (those alphabet people books come to mind). I like the idea of numbers personified... as if they are able to transcend the typically "boring" realm of mathematics and enter something fun and creative. This could be a great idea for teaching math to those who may a bit resistant (....like me). Great job and cute illustrations.
Numbers 1 - 10 Go To The Zoo is a lovely book aimed at very young children to help them learn to recognise numbers in a fun way. Myself and my son loved the way the numbers went to the zoo and all the animals they met along the way.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy.
I really like the pages with the different ways you can see the numbers, I think this is really handy for children, with the added addition to seeing it wrote in Spanish too. Thank you for opportunity to read and review this book.
Thanks to Net galley and the publisher for this copy to give an unbiased review. I work with SEN children and wouldn’t use this is my classroom. Although the different forms of teaching each number is a great idea, and there are some elements of rhyming, I didn’t find it strong enough to stick in the minds of the little ones I work with.
I also found the behaviour of the numbers and animals not conducive to how we are promoting the children to behave in our nurture class.
My daughter loved this!
This was a charming story that was educational, fun and has visually stimulating illustrations.
The different format of writing the numbers was clever too and it was very engaging.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
Thank you NetGalley and Erin Go Bragh Publishing for a copy of "Number 1-10 Go to the Zoo" in exchange for my honest review.
This book has lessons that combine fun rhymes, repetition and colourful visuals that will stimulate learning in children. It would make a wonderful aide to parents and educators alike.
The main point of the book is to teach children that numbers are fun. There are bright and colourful illustrations of the numbers. Repetition is encouraged. The different forms that numbers take are highlighted - as a written number, as a word, shown on a hand and even a Spanish version. Children are able to trace the numbers on the screen or in the book.
In the paragraphs the numbers are repeated often and children are also able to count the different animals in the zoo.
This is such a fun book for my kids! I’m teaching them how to count to ten and this is so helpful. Not only can they learn the digits 1-10, but also in Spanish and counting with fingers and animals!
I highly recommend this educational book for your littles!
5-Stars!
I read this with my youngest while he was taking a break from learning at school, we both actually enjoyed the story of the numbers going to the zoo as well as learning how to say some Spanish numbers. This is indeed a good book to teach children with their numbers.
While I appreciated the colorful illustrations and the multi-modal number learning, the book felt too didactic to be a storytime book, but too story-driven to be a workbook.
I had trouble with how mean the zoo animals were. Even though they get a comeuppance, I'm not sure why they had to be so unpleasant at all.
I probably wouldn't use this one in my classroom, but it might be an effective one-on-one book if the story happens to resonate well with a particular child.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.
