The Romanov Legacy is an excellent historical fiction novel full of intrigue, suspense, murder and mystery. I had lots of fun reading it and I thought that it was an interesting story that kept me on my toes. Melody is compelling and interesting and the book is well-written with lots of nods to the Romanovs and Tzsarist Russia.

What a great read! Ms Baron has the talent to create the most vivid scenes with her writing, I could envision the environments with no problem at all.
Her protagonist, single mother Melody, is going through her murdered grandmother's possessions when she comes across information that leads her to confirm she and her daughter are the remaining direct heirs to Czar Nicholas and the Russian throne.
When she finds her daughter and nanny are kidnapped, she must decide how to cooperate with the different factions, and whether to share her information.
I love any books about Russian royalty, and in particular the Revolution, and this book doesn't disappoint. Well written. The subplots and peripherals characters were interesting and exciting. The history behind the story has been well researched and just enough to make you believe the premise is real.
I recommend you get this book, a drink, snacks and hide away somewhere for a day. Once you start this book, you won't want to leave it.

One family's legacy passed down through the ages riddled with seduction, murder, and mystery. Still grieving the loss of her murdered grandmother, Melody opens a safe deposit box to discover she's a descendent of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II. Her? A Romanov? She also discovers two diaries, one in Russian, and a beautiful diamond and emerald necklace. After a little research, she comes home to find her baby daughter and her Russian nanny missing. What happens next throws Melody in the middle of a conspiracy to reinstate the Romanov monarchy on the throne and she's helpless to stop it. Thinking of only her daughter, Melody will do anything to keep her safe, that is if Melody can stay alive.

The Romanov Legacy: A Novel is a historical fiction shrouded in mystery and intrigue. From the premise, I knew this was going to be an engrossing read. I'm very familiar with the Romanovs and the possibility of heirs carrying on the name so I wondered how Marilyn Baron would build her story around this part of Russian history. Marilyn Baron weaves an unbelievable story amongst historical fact so well, I found myself transported into the story. Intricate details along with descriptive narration carried me along the further I went into the story. While there are some instances where I found it hard to believe a mother would do such a thing, I couldn't fault the characters. The mystery and thriller sub-plots were filled with suspense and a few twists I didn't anticipate. By the time I finished, I sat back and thought long and hard about what I just experienced. Marilyn Baron's gift for writing is on display in The Romanov Legacy: A Novel. If you're looking to be swept away to the lavish world of Imperial Russia, pick up The Romanov Legacy: A Novel. If you love reading stories about secret societies, carrying on the bloodlines, and unraveling a puzzle, pick up The Romanov Legacy: A Novel. If you're a historical fiction reader, you'll love The Romanov Legacy: A Novel.

Where do I start? Never in my life have I read such utter nonsense. This isn’t a “it could have been like this”. I don’t know what kind of drug induced trip is needed to like this book.
It was full of cliches. I stopped counting after number 8.
Not one of the females in this book has learned about birth control apparently. It blows my mind how all of them can make the same mistake.
The obsession with time-accurate clothing is just weird - what’s the deal with that?
Sadly I don’t have anything good to say about this book. Generally I like books where real persons and events have a meaning but this one wanted to be a tragic love story with James Bond, spanning many decades… then there’s teen pregnancy, illicit affairs… no, thank you. I am glad I didn’t pay for this one, it would’ve been a waste of money.

Melody has lived a normal life with her grandmother after her parents died in a caraccident. But when her grandma dies she starts to learn family secrets and realizes her life has been a Lie.
I really enjoyed this book all in all. Sadly i thought The book had some drama that was unecessary and was just kind of irritating. The last few chapters were really good. I like that The author made that unecessary drama actually a red thread for The ending
