In Zeke Meeks vs the Big Blah-Rific Birthday, our main character finds that not only is is hard to plan the perfect birthday party (his mom says no to ideas because they're too expensive and complicated) but then two friends have awesomely planned birthdays that happen on HIS birthday weekend. A story that encourages readers to recognize expectations as well as quick thinking and problem solving, Zeke and his friends come up with a surprising, if a little odd, way to save the day.

One issue from this series is that a character named Grace Chang is rude and is constantly characterized as having "very long, very sharp, very evil fingernails" that she wants to "use to rip your face off."
