The Couple On Maple Drive follows the story of Isla who has been suffering from PTSD and retroactive amnesia since being brutally mugged. Her dedicated boyfriend, Zach, moves in to help take care of her and soon Isla starts having flashes of memories from the night she was mugged. Determined to figure out what happened, Isla starts her investigation.
This is the first book I read from Sam Carrington and I was not very impressed. The narrative style alternates between Isla’s POV, her boyfriend Zach’s POV and the transcript of a true-crime podcast, Christie’s Crime Addicts. This book managed to be a solid 2 ½ stars and I am sorry to say that even with all of the red herrings, I had the killer figured out by 20% of the book. I still managed to finish the book in hopes for a little redemption but as with any thriller, the moment you figure out the culprit there is not much you can do to carry on the story.
The Couple On Maple Drive is scheduled to be published on December 9, 2021. I want to thank Avon Books UK and NetGalley for providing me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Thank You so much Avon, NetGalley and Author for this exciting new thriller!
The Couple On Maple Drive is a fantastic page turner, full of twist and turns.
A thrilling that keeps you guessing until the end.
This book was fast paced, gripping, entertaining, dramatic and just all round amazing. I would like to say that I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen at the end but in reality, I had no idea. Which I think is the sign of a good thriller, right?
The writing is fabulous, had me feeling every single moment of fear, unease, and creepiness.
One thriller you won't want to miss!

I will post to my platforms closer to pub date!
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was definitely worthwhile. It’s a classic whodunnit, a little predictable but well written and a very likeable and interesting main character, plenty of twists that picks up in pace as the story unfolds.
This was a quick and quite good read that kept my interest from start to finish but I must admit I was a little disappointed though
as I did guess most of the twists but to be fair I read a lot of mystery thrillers. I think one of the main reasons I was disappointed was I really didn’t like the main character of Isla and I thought some of her actions were questionable but then that might be just me. I liked the podcast sections of the book i thought that added a lot to the interest of the story but I wasn’t so thrilled with the ending sadly it seemed a bit far fetched.
So this was a good, quick 3 star read that as I said held my interest it was well written also and I do look forward to reading more from the author.
My thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Excellent story! Totally engrossing!. Looking forward to reading more by this author! Could not put this down!
I have loved Carrington's previous books and The Couple on Maple Drive did not disappoint!
The premise grabbed my attention straight away and I couldn't wait to start this book.
I loved the how the twists and turns kept me guessing right until the very end. It was very well-written and I can't wait to read more from Carrington in the future.
Thank you Netgalley, Avon, and Author Sam Carrington for this ARC.
This book's cover, title, and description all had me hooked immediately. I was so excited to read this mystery thriller. I was quickly disappointed.
The writing style wasn't my cup of tea, but I tried to push through. Unfortunately, the plot was so slow I could never get into the story. I had also guessed the culprit pretty early on. I did like the true crime podcast tidbits--they made the story refreshing and modern.
I found this book to be too slow, I was constantly waiting for something to happen that I ended up skipping a few chapters.
Thankyou Netgalley for sending this book to my kindle in return for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by this author, i found the story line intriguing i especially enjoyed the true crime podcast chapters this gave the story a different dimension, however i found the main story a little slow and was waiting for more to happen . The story did wrap up nicely with a little twist.
Isla has become agoraphobic since she was mugged coming home from a night out.
Zach her controlling boyfriend has moved into the apartment to look after her.
A slow moving mystery with some twist and turns.
I really disliked the Podcast chapters and the swearing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
Intriguing Domestic Noir….
Things are not as they seem in this well penned domestic noir. Isla, practically a recluse following a brutal attack and Zach, who moved in to take care of her, soon find that secrets have a way of worming their way out. With an intriguing premise that delivers, twists aplenty and a well drawn cast, this is an immersive read from first to last page.
May contain spoilers: Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC of The Couple on Maple Drive. This was my first book by the author Sam Carrington. I enjoyed it enough that I will seek out some of her other titles. The story follows Isla and her boyfriend Zach. Isla was brutally attacked following an evening with friends and does not know who her attacker was. She is determined to find out with the help of her favorite podcast members. Meanwhile there are many possible suspects including her boyfriend himself. The book was interesting but took a little bit to get through as it dragged at parts. It was a bit of a surprise, sorta, of who the attacker was and why. It's worth a read for sure.
This was an enjoyable read , I did find it a little hard to get into but a third of the way in I could not put it down .
Isla is viciously attacked whilst walking home one night , she has very little memory of this and as she is recuperating gets fixated on true crime podcasts , her boyfriend has moved in to take care of her but soon Isla starts having doubts that his intentions are entirely innocent . She takes her case to her favourite podcast members Christies Crime Addicts who start to help her investigate as the shocking truth of what has happened comes to light . Very entertaining
A decent enough book that took a while to settle into. Isla is brutally attacked and now she needs to figure out what happened that night. Zach, her boyfriend, moves in with her to help her recuperate. Little by little she starts to piece together the events of that night with the help of a true crime podcast. The couple on Maple Drive are certainly not who you think you know.. Wish it had been a bit more dramatic.
Thanks NetGalley for the advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
I already read some books by Sam Carrington and enjoyed them a lot. So I was happy, to receive an ARC of her newest book.
Once again I was not disappointed. On the contrary. If it would not have been for real life I would not have stopped reading. I so wanted to find out what was going on. The description about this book is very vague and I also don't want to give anything away.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers this is the right story for you.
Thanks a lot #Netgalley #Avon Books UK for this ARC
My thanks to NetGalley and Avon Publishing Uk for a a copy of “ The Couple On Maple Drive “ for an honest review.
I was intrigued by the description for this book , and have enjoyed Sam Carrington’s books in the past, but unfortunately this one just didn’t work for me.
The book began well , and I like the style of writing , but from the outset it was obvious who the attack was carried out by.I hoped I would be proved wrong but I felt the suspense was gone by half way through the story.
Unfortunately I can only give this book an average mark , but I’ll still , hopefully , read more by Carrington
I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review
It was ok. It wasn’t great. It wasn’t atrocious. It was just meh. Found myself more interested in getting to the end than the characters or the narrative definitely not her best
Slow to start, but quick to grab your attention. A thriller that has you guessing what comes next, great for those who love true crime, just like myself!
I found this one really interesting. The story flowed well and kept my attention. I really enjoyed the writing style and the twists and turns. I’ll definitely be following this author to see what other ones they have written! I would recommend this one to a friend.
Isla finally gets the promotion she as worked so hard for but is brutally attacked on her way home from her promotion party. When her new boyfriend ( and the boss's son) agrees to move in to help her, life changes. A racing thriller to the end.
