“I’ve found in my life that the pain of the past can fester if left inside, poisoning your blood. A way to release it is by speaking of it.”

THE STORM is a novel that spans both decades and continents, weaving together stories of the past that all intersect and provide answers to one man’s family history. the book begins in a village on the Bay of Bengal with a poor fisherman and his wife as they prepare to face a big storm. we also read about a Japanese pilot, a British doctor, and a wealthy couple living in Calcutta as the book is structured with chapters devoted to each of these characters. a really beautifully written story about fate and the ways in which we atone for the past. 4/5⭐️—I liked it!
