This was a wonderful book about healing and coming into your own. As someone who suffers from CPTSD and more trauma than I like to admit this book was really helpful in getting through everything and starting to heal and feel better.
Format: audiobook
Author: Emily A. Francis ~ Title: Healing Ourselves Whole ~ Narrator: Stina Nielsen
Content: 4 stars ~ Narration: 5 stars
This is a very helpful audiobook for those who appreciate self-help books with alternative approaches to health and healing. It helps you identify issues within your body, emotions that our body holds. You will learn how to identify where trauma, shame, guilt, and grief are holding in your body. Through meditations and worksheets, you will get a greater understanding of what your body holds and how to release that. Author also suggests affirmations in combinations with mudra for each. And of course she also offers the answers, what kind of action you need to create change.
I listened to the audiobook and read the book at the same time and I think both versions are very good. It is ideal to have both, because with book it is easier to follow. Audiobook is very good because you can also listen to all the guided meditations.
Narration is pleasant and calming, perfect for this kind of book.
Thanks to HighBridge Audio the for the ARC and the opportunity to listen to this! All opinions are my own.
I had the opportunity to listen to this which if you do so you will appreciate the meditations. I was excited about this book as I am always trying to improve my person. I did glean some good information but I believe that if it had just been stated that each meditation was the same but directed to a different portion of the body it would have saved an enormous amount of repetition. A wonderful plus is that you can hop over to her website to listen to meditations too.
This is a fantastic self help book, which really helped me a lot. I really enjoyed doing all of the meditations and I especially liked the flowers on the carrots, the cord cutting and meeting my guardian angel at the end. The audiobook narrator has a calming and soothing voice, which I really liked. The book is very informative, with lots of information on how pain and trauma are stored in the body and how to heal and release them. I loved this book and it has changed my life for the better, as I was able to release pain from two areas of my body which had been bothering me. I highly recommend this book.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This is quite an informative book but I think the audio would really benefit from having the physical book along side it as you work through it. I loved the meditations but again having the book along side would just make it easier to keep track of everything so ideally it would be nice if they came as a set.
