I had high hopes for this book, both personally and as a reference point for so many conversations I’ve had recently about the subject of friendship and how that experience changes over time. But this book is a very surface-level skim of the topic. It offers data and basic suggestions, but never shares deeper stories that might resonate or inspire. It seemed more like a series of common-sense social media posts than a book of fresh thinking or new ideas.
