I have mixed feelings about this book! I loved the illustrations, but the story seemed to lack something that I’m not sure of. I liked that he could use his imagination to overcome the feelings he had about his move. But I feel it may be confusing for some kids.
These illustrations were so beautiful! I had to go back through after reading just to admire them again.
This is a very relatable story for young kids about the changes that come with moving. It has a good message about helping and receiving help from friends as well as finding the positives in one’s current situation.
As a bonus, this could also spark interesting conversations about constellations and even light pollution. There’s a lot here to make a meaningful small group or one-on-one story time.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
I loved reading this simple but cute story. But most of all I was truly amazed by the illustrations! The art was absolutely stunning.
It is a magical story that will appeal to readers who enjoy stargazing and locating constellations. The art is dreamlike, with beautiful colors!
I can only recommend this lovely book, which not only inspires readers to look at the sky more creatively, but will also make you want to pick up a brush and paint your own starry night. This was so creative, I loved it!!
Bonus points for the parents’ genders not being specified, making this a more relatable story for a larger number of children.
