Lana Lewis returns in this sequel to Grounds for Murder and splits her time between fixing her cold brew batches and returning to her journalistic roots. There was a lot going on in this book...perhaps a bit too much....but not a bad second outing. This would be a good beach with its zany characters and lighthearted touch.

Nice cozy with a Florida and coffee background. Second in the Coffee Lover's Mystery series, former Miami journalist and now coffee shop owner, finds herself sleuthing with her father and friends helping her along the way. Of course, we also have Noah, the hunky chief of police as Lana's romantic interest.
All comes together with the murder of Lana's next door neighbor, hot yoga instructor & owner of Dante's Inferno, Raina.
There were some great laughs in this book, which I won't give away. But, it did have to do with yoga.

Managing Perkatory, the family coffee shop, keeps Lana busy, but deep down she’s a reporter at heart. When she’s asked to cover the murder of a local business woman, Lana soon uncovers clues that lead right to the suspect.
I enjoy the characters in this series and it’s very easy to get lost in the story.
I had no idea who the suspect was, so it definitely left me saying wow!

OMG these books are such fun to read. I love the island of Devil's Beach, the descriptions of the coffee shop Perkatory and the general colorful cast of characters.

Lana Lewis is missing her journalism career but is finding new passion running Perkatory, her family's coffee shop. Lana and her barista, Erica, just won the barista competition held on the island. However, their celebration is short-lived when the young, pretty yoga instructor next door goes missing and later turns up dead. Lana does a few stories for her local paper on the subject but wants to put the pieces together to solve the crime and get the scoop.

While only two in the series (so far - here's to more!), I look forward to these new releases from Tara Lush. She writes extremely well with good character development, charming descriptions (looking at you, Stanley the pooch) and believable scenarios. I appreciate that Lana is a former crime reporter as her wanting to ferret out information from various sources is a little less weird than some of the other cozies where the heroines make truly rude pests of themselves. There is also a scene in this book that I won't spoil but had me LOLing for a good couple of minutes.

I very much enjoyed this book and cannot wait for more in the series!

The Coffee Lovers mysteries are fun and interesting, though not anything unique in the cozy mystery space. Having Lana as a former journalist allows for good pretense in her investigating and makes her more seasoned than most amateur sleuths. However, I figured out the murderer early in the book and felt frustrated with the characters for missing the clues.

Lana is settling into running her family's coffee shop and beginning a relationship with the local police chief, Noah Garcia, when the yoga instructor from next door goes missing. This brings back a tragic incident from Lara's childhood and she is troubled by the event. She is asked by the local newspaper editor to write an article about the missing woman . This would be a one-time assignment. Lana has missed being a journalist and jumps right into investigating what happened to Raina Rose, even though this might complicate her budding relationship with Noah. Raina is soon found in the local swamp and there is no shortage of suspects as Lana finds that there were many who had reason to want to harm her.

This was a top notch mystery with lots of twists and turns. Lana, Dad, Barbara, Erica, Joey and Noah were characters I really came to care about, and I would love to have coffee with them. I also fell in love with Stanley the Shih Tzu. I hated when the book was over and can't wait to visit them again!

There are actually two mysteries in this book, one about the murder of a fellow business person and what keeps going wrong with the cold brew.

My reactions to this book is very similar to the first. Like the characters, setting and the details the author sprinkles in to bring the beachy island setting to life.

My one complaint is that Lana handles the cold brew situation pretty poorly. Despite working on the murder, she doesn't think to try some simple activities (besides making new batches) to figure what what's going wrong? Some who have read the book may go, " Why is she complaining about this?" Well, I can't turn off my problem solving brain, and I would have had that mystery nailed down the next day, especially since Lana tells us cold brew rakes in the money. Frankly, as a non-coffee drinker it sounds vile to me, but....

Love this series set in Florida. Lana is personally struggling with the glory of being a journalist vs the joy of owning her own coffee shop. Not to mention her cold brew taste is off.

A local yoga studio teacher shows up dead in marsh and it looks like murder. Lana gets entrenched by writing freelance for the local paper and her boyfriend Noah (local cop) is involved too. Will Lana or Noah find the murderer? Will Lana figure out her passion for journalist for coffee? Will Lana and Noah ever get that date?

Such a fun book! Love it.

Crooked Lane Books know how to pick their authors and this is another winner. So many clever plays on words as the quirky characters take us through a ripper of a mystery. I really loved the dialogue in the book - it struck a clever balance of humour and intelligence when helping the reader to get to know the characters.

Although I read a cozy mystery in the heat of a Midwest summer, this swooped me into the vibe of a dark corner, fireplace-esque mystery that I would love to read in the heart of Fall. This has everything you want: a silly, un-guessable mystery that will have you laughing with plenty of guffaws.

This is the first book I’ve read by Tara Lush and I really enjoyed it! The plot moved quickly but the characters developed well. The mystery had a fun twist at the end and the romance was cute. Can’t wait for this series to continue! I recommend to any cozy mystery lover.

This was was a fun, and interesting cozy with a backdrop of Florida, yoga, and lots of coffee! It kept me guessing to the end! I enjoyed it very much.

First off the title is so good - it immediately caught my attention. This is also my first time reading a cosy mystery genre and i am still trying to collect my thoughts on this genre.
Leaving that aside i think the story is compelling and even though is a mystery the blow won't be hard-hitting.
It's an easy to read book and may take you out of your reading slump

This year I’ve discovered my love for cozy mysteries and this one didn’t disappoint. I’m not sure how Lana Lewis manages to juggle running a coffee shop, sleuthing, and being a part time journalist but somehow she manages! Lana is also able to have somewhat of a dating life with Chief Noah in the midst of everything going on. When a yoga instructor goes missing and ends up being found dead in a swamp, Lana is doing everything she can to get the latest updates to impress her boss with her journalism skills. There also seems to be something very off about her specialty cold brew and she can’t seem to pinpoint the problem. I loved following the case and learning about Raina’s (yoga instructor) dual personality. She definitely seemed to be a yoga cult leader of some sort for the amount of scam she was able to get away with because of how charismatic she is. Everyone seemed so entranced with her personality but eventually was burned by her one way or another. I liked that Noah was ok with Lana’s sleuthing/journalism research and they were able to set boundaries for themselves. A few cozy mysteries I’ve read usually have the detective wary of the sleuthing and try to get the main character to forget the case. It was a nice switch up to have Noah supportive while still trying to keep their personal lives separate from the case. I’m looking forward to future installments to this series!

Nothing like being transported back to Devil's Beach! Ever since I knew Tara was coming out with a new book I couldn't wait to read it and I am glad that I was able to have early access to it. ​I have enjoyed her previous books and really enjoyed this one as well. I like how it ties in romance along with the mystery.

In Devil's Beach another mystery pops up as someone is missing and Lana puts her reporting skills to use as she tries to track down all the details.

If you are looking for a mystery book that isn’t too gory or scary this is perfect! Also, if you are a fan of her previous books you will definitely like this one as well! Looking forward to more books that Tara puts out.

Love this cast of characters and the series as a whole. The backdrop to this mystery yoga, lends a quirky twist. The humor Tara Lush scribes throughout make the second in this series, the series overall a must.

I felt as if this was slow going especially at the beginning. The police and Lana are searching for a yoga instructor that may or may not be missing? I felt that was a weak connection at best. Most of the characters need more development.

A Plethora Of Suspects…
The second in the Coffee Lover’s Mystery series and business is flying for coffee shop owner Lana. Coffee shop, Perkatory, is seeing clients from the yoga studio next door, the aptly named Dante’s Inferno, come flooding through its doors. When the body of the yoga studios owner is found and the death clearly suspicious, Lana dons her sleuthing hat once again, but does she realise what danger she might be in? Enjoyable cosy mystery with a likeable protagonist in Lana and a colourful cast of supporting characters. A fun and fast paced plot with a plethora of suspects to add to the mix.
