I absolutely love Jessica Redland's books, the characters are always spot on and the themes are always brilliant, this book is no different, it did not disappoint.
Charlee is a lovely character and all the way through you hope she gets rid of certain people and goes her own way.
I loved the hypothetical middle finger given to Gabby.
It was great to read about the history of why Charlee worked with chocolate and when I read the descriptions of her making it, it made my mouth water and I now want to own my own chocolate shop.
I really enjoyed how the story unfolds. Friendship, love, loss and humour are common themes throughout this book and I loved every minute.
The reunions and revalations had me balling and smiling at the same time. I havent cried this much over characters in a book for ages.
I really like the authors note about grandparents at the end because my grandparents meant the world to me too and I lost them quite young, Charlee's are to her too.
I'm excited to find out Jessica Redland has another 12 book deal with her current publisher, I will be sure to give those a read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The perfect read for a cosy winter night. The book was well written and the main characters are endearing. It’s both romantic and empowering.

All of the holiday feels!! I love me a good Christmas book. It truly gives you alllll of the good feelings.

Loved it!!! It's the perfect book for Christmas, even though I read it during the summer. All I know now is that I want to live in Whitsborough Bay, have a shop on Castle Street and become friends with Charlee, Jodie, Sarah and Matt. Ricky didn't surprise me at all. What did shock me, was how long it took Charlee to figure out what was really happening. Red flags were flashing in front of her face and she ignored all of them. That pizza place needs to be sanitized. Disgusting!!!! Those two were nasty, trashy and deserve each other. Charlee always complained that she didn't have any family and was alone, but she was surrounded by friends who loved her and would do anything to help her. Jodie and her wanker picture was quite hilarious. Matt and Libby never seemed happy. I'm not sure how they lasted for so many years. Loved when the truth was finally revealed about Charlee's mom and dad. Not sure how that secret was kept for so long. This was a cute story full of love, friendship, forgiveness and so much more.
Definitely recommend the book. Loved the characters, story and writing style. All around it gave me happy feelings and made me smile. Now I need to read all the books in the Whitsborough Bay series. Look forward to reading more books by the author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Boldwood Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Warm, cozy and perfect for Christmas. The premise of the book, including the chocolate shop were great touches. However, the plot was over done and not very original. While that may seem harsh and like a negative, that's just what I look for around Christmas time. Fun, seasonal, easy, heartwarming reads through the holiday season. This is exactly that (just happened to be Christmas in July instead).

I mean, I cannot express the joy that I have discovered of reading a Christmas book in July... literally - where has this been all my life? What a fun romp. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was just the fluffy, fun, festive moment that I needed. Am I really already for Christmas?!

A quant English village, Christmas, a chocolate shop, and romance. A perfect combination. I really enjoyed this book

I was lucky enough to celebrate Christmas in July by reading Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop by Jessica Redland. A wonderfully descriptive story with amazing characters and scenery; a perfect way to get ready for the magic of Christmas!

Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop by Jessica Redland is an excellent, festive, and heartwarming contemporary romance that is a part of the Whitsborough Bay series. It is wonderful!
I have enjoyed other series from Ms. Redland, Hedgehog Hollow series, so I knew I wanted to dive into this series with this added and redesigned update. I have not read the previous books in this series as of yet, but I did not need to to be able to truly enjoy this one. However, after having such a great time, I most certainly now will.
I love Charlee Chambers. She has had her fair share of adversities and is just trying to live put her dreams and find her place in life, when even more challenges come her way. Luckily, there are several kind souls that come into her life at just the right time to help put together those pieces. Matt, is one of them.
I loved the full character cast as well as the relationship between Charlee and Matt. I loved the chemistry, the progression, and of course the amazing ending. I was rooting for them the whole time.
Of course I loved this even more as it took place during the holidays. Now I am cheerful, wishing I could see Christmas lights, and want a nice container of chocolate covered gingerbread!
Perfect.

I didn’t think I’d like this book to start with, I thought Ricky wasn’t nice, but Charlee started thinking for herself and I loved it!
The storyline and feeling of love and doing what’s ‘best for you’ was strongly felt. A real heartwarming feel good novel with chocolate and romance! I enjoyed immersing myself in Charles’s journey!
Thanks so much to Boldwood Books and Jessica Redland for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Author Jessica Redland continues to be one of my go to author if ever I am in need of a light heart contemporary romance full of heart, well developed characters, and a beautiful story that give me the warm and fuzzy feelings.
Charlee was such a wonderful character. She was such a caring individual and put a lot of thought into wanting to create delicious chocolates for all ages. I loved the way she was able to create a found family where ever she seemed to find herself, especially within the community of Whitsborough. Right from the introduction of Matt, I was rooting for Charlee and Matt to get a HEA! I really did not like Ricky. The author did a great job not only creating characters the readers could love, but also characters that were really unlikeable and Ricky was defiantly one of those along with Pierre's daughter. Matt and Charlee seem to have instant chemistry and yet both are in relationships and are faithful to their partners. (As it should be.) I also found myself drawn into the friendship between Charlee and Jodie. What a great and supportive friendship and just what Charlee needed when things start to go south with Ricky. There was so much that happened within this book that I could not put it down. This book read just like a Hallmark movie. The author had a wonderful way of using her writing style to describe the scenic scenes within Whitsborough that I think it might be a vacation spot in the future. I also could see the characters within my mind as their descriptions were very detailed and realistic. I was glad for the sweet ending yet sad to leave these characters. Overall, this was another win for author Jessica Redland! I would recommend this book to those who are fans of Christmas feel good stories that capture the magic of the season and love. I can't wait for the next new release by this author!

A Christmas book and chocolate, what is not to love. Beautiful story well told with a lovely setting too. Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an ARC

I loved this book. But what’s not to love? Chocolate, Christmas and a fabulous love story. Charlee and her chocolate shop. She decides to move after the death of her grandmother and the suggestion of her boyfriend. But is it just for his sake that he’s suggested it? He’s a bad rotten boy. It’s wonderful how the story develops and gave me a nice warm feeling even though it’s set in wintry Christmases. True love will find a way. And thank goodness it does. And there’s plenty of surprises I didn’t see coming. Loved it

A Christmas romance that provides some nice seasonal touches but follows the formula of almost all romances and that takes away from what could have been a good story.

Thank you to Netgalley, Boldwood Books, and Jessica Redland for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have been struggling with how to approach this review which is why there has been such a delay in posting it. The town and (most of) the characters? Love them. It’s the cutest little English town, has all kinds of independent shops which is amazing, and the characters are fun, have a great relationship, and just seem like the kind of people you want to spend time with.
I’m not sure if it’s the writing or the layout of the story or what it is, but I enjoyed, but didn’t love this story. I actually feel giving 3⭐️ is being generous and I hate saying that. I am not a big fan of the main female in this one. I found her rather annoying, was constantly yelling at her when she made decisions, and just did not click with her. While I feel she portrays a realistic version of how situations some women have been in, it just really rubbed me the wrong way. I did love the male lead, however, although he has his questionable (yet realistic) character traits as well.
I think I really wanted to love this story, but just don’t. If you like Christmas stories, especially series, by all means give it a try as you may love it!

Charlee just lost her grandmother who raised her. Her grandfather passed away years ago. Her boss is retiring and his mean daughter is taking over. At her boyfriends suggestion, she ups and moves. Charlee opens a chocolate shop and fixes a few wrongs in her life.
Opinion
This book was quite a lovely story. To me, it was obvious what was wrong in her life. However, it is also understandable that she missed it. This compelling story had me rooting for Charlee the time. She is a person I’d love to know in real life.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

"Love, Friendship and Community", sums up Jessica Redland's book perfectly.
Having read several of Jessica's books based in Castle Street I started this one without realising it was a re-edited version. No problem, I devoured this romantic Christmas story in 24 hours. and loved it.
As Charlee use her inheritance from her late grandparents to open her dream chocolate shop, she relies on her boyfriend Ricky to see her through her loss and her new venture. With some well developed characters this story had me wishing for Christmas even though it's only August.
Lovely story, great setting, memorable characters and chocolate! Recommended.

This book wasn't for me. I liked the chocolate shop and the Castle Street, but nothing else.
The writing, the pacing, the characters, the romance, the plot... It was all just stereotype after stereotype and cliché after cliché. There was nothing original about it and nothing I could relate to.
It wasn't even all that Christmassy. The decorations were there but not the spirit.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop by Jessica Redland in exchange for an honest review.

🎆❄Sweet warmth, friendship and love with chocolates on top!🍫
What a treat of a story set on the friendly streets of Whitborough Bay, Yorkshire, a locale author Jessica Redland favors with her tales of close community and ultimately happy romance. The neighborhood shopkeepers are like an extended family and, when it comes to preparations for the Christmas season, they go all out!
Charlee the female lead chocolatier is positive, trusting and ready to spread her wings by opening her own business in the historic commercial district of the town. She's had her knocks but gets right back up, in large part thanks to the support of her BFF. Grief, romantic glitches, family surprises, leaking plumbing: problems Charlee confronts and overcomes.
I love a good story of personal development in the face of personal and professional challenge and this novel delivers that with kindness and a sweet attitude. Sure there's a heel or two, but the negative and undeserving only highlight the gem quality of everyone else!
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thank you NetGalley, Jessica Redland and Boldwood Books for the ARC of Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop. This is my personal review.
I love nothing better than reading a great Christmas based book in the heat of summer!
Charlee is a master chocolatier, and this makes the story even better.
This story gave me so much to think – see and feel as I was reading it. It gave me the escape I needed from heat of the summer.
If you want a book to give you new friends, then this is the one you need to pick up.
