Thank you Quatro Fair Winds and NetGalley for this ARC.
This was an informative book which was easy to understand and accompanied by some great nourishing recipes. I would have loved more photos to accompany the recipes.

I personally have an auto-immune disease so I was particularly interested when I saw this cook book.
It begins with some information about inflammatory autoimmune diseases and then it goes on to a selection of beautifully photographed and delicious sounding recipes that I am looking forward to trying out.
Definitely worth looking at as a non-medical intervention to support your health.
My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.

As someone who suffers with an autoimmune condition this book jumped out at me as something that may help to manage my symptoms in a more natural way, and I can’t resist reviewing a cookbook!

The first section of this book looks at the science behind inflammation, and goes on to list foods that may cause inflammation in your diet as well as foods that can be beneficial to reducing inflammation.

The book then list recipes according to types, such as breakfast, meat free, seafood and grains. I find this really helpful rather than just having one generic dinner meals chapter as it makes finding recipes much easier.

The anti-inflammatory recipe key is clearly marked on each recipe to show what type of diet it is suitable for (for example gluten free) and the tip boxes add a little extra to each recipe they are included with. The only thing missing in this book was a conversion chart for measurements etc. as the book is written using the American cup measurements.

The layout is fresh and clean which makes for easy reading but also looks beautiful. I also like how the author has a personal connection to her reasons for writing this recipe book.

Book received for free through NetGalley

This book looks incredible although I, unfortunately, didn't make the time to make the recipes. Looking at it now, again, so many recipes are jumping out so I'm going to remind myself to look through it later on when I have more time.

Didn't get the chance to try any of the recipes, but it's a beautifully designed and well laid-out cookbook. A worthy purchase if you need this diet!

A decent introduction to what inflammation is and a number of recipes to help people start when wanting to do this type of thing.

This seems a well-researched recipe book which is perfect for myself as I have a chronic pain illness and am always looking for anti-inflammatory recipes.
The ingredients included within the book are easy to get hold of and so can be perfect for an everyday person who is cooking to soothe their flares. The food photography was brilliant and made the meals all look appetising. Yet, I am still looking for cook books to have realistic photography and not well-polished dishes.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from #netgalley , thank you. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a nice little cookbook that does just what it says on the tin - simple and straightforward recipes following an anti-inflammatory diet. I'm not familiar with the author's blog or previous work, but it's clear from the book that she cares greatly for healthy and nutritious food.

I do have to side-eye claims like 'changing my diet reversed my medical condition' as it cuts too close to 'meditation and yoga cured my depression and anxiety' but I won't argue that a healthy diet free of processed foods and refined sugars can help people feel better and, in turn, decrease the severity of symptoms of any conditions they may be dealing with. I think we all feel better when we eat better!

The recipes here are accessible to the average home cook, and there isn't anything terribly complex or alarming (okay, I was alarmed by some of the recipes that require frying, but that's because I, personally, am terrified of deep-frying anything myself). For the most part, the ingredients can be easily found on grocery store shelves, and the recipes require only basic substitutions like gluten-free pasta or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. There's a good balance of sweet and savory recipes - as I'm not big on sweets or baking, it's not as useful for me, but I can definitely see the value in it.

This book seems to cater to a 'beginner' eater, ie not overly adventurous and the recipes are definitely aimed at an American palate. I was a bit surprised to see so many recipes call for buffalo sauce or mayonnaise, although I suppose it's a good 'gateway' into healthier, more mindful cooking and eating for folks who are used to an average middle-American diet. I'm a bit more adventurous, I think, so many of the recipes didn't particularly excite me but I can certainly apply the ideas and substitutions in this cookbook to my own diet.

Chock full of mouthwatering recipes and photographs The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Made Simple offers a dietary route to reducing chronic inflammation.

The author starts with her journey to becoming an anti-inflammatory diet advocate offer a brief
description of what chronic inflammation actually is; a useful guide on what to stock in your anti-inflammatory pantry; and an anti-inflammatory recipe key.

The recipe section features family portion breakfasts, dips, dressings, snacks, pastas, grains, meat, seafood and vegan mains, desserts and beverages. The vast majority of these are healthier takes on dishes most are likely to be familiar. There are no shortage of twists and surprises though.

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Made Simple does essentially do what is says on the tin. At the same time it would have been great to see a few recipe options for those short on time; cooking for 1-2 as opposed to families; or working with tight budgets. Such groups don’t seem to have been catered for making it less 'simple' for them to follow ani-inflammatory diets.

I have checked out over a dozen Anti-inflammatory diet books. This one has some easy recipes and suggestions on how to made good choices without sacrificing flavor. The hard part of this cookbook is deciding what recipe to try next. I love that it covers smoothies to desserts and helps make an easy transition to eating to reduce inflammation.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Net Galley for my unbiased review.

A great cookbook if you have had to remove foods due to allergies or inflammation! There is a short introductory section about what the anti-inflammatory diet is, but mainly, this books is just packed full of recipes, which I have had difficulty finding in large quantity in other similar books, which give more information about what foods to avoid that what you can actually make!

direct recipes in a variety of categories. It was easy to follow. While I didn't like all of the recipes, and wasn't able to eat all due to some allergies, I did find it informative and helpful.

My MD has recommended the anti-inflammatory diet many many years ago, when I was discovered to be at high risk for breast cancer. At the time, the diet seemed overwhelming to me and I wish I would have had this cookbook then. Ms. Thompson does a wonderful job of breaking down what's in a typical diet and explaining how those things can negatively impact our bodies. She details the similarities and differences of anti-inflammatory dieting and Paleo, and makes it all clear and manageable. The recipes themselves do, at first glance, have quite a few ingredients but I would say it's definitely worth it. The Southwest Stuffed Peppers were particularly popular with my family. If you're interested in exploring this way of healthy eating, this cookbook is definitely a great way to start.

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet Made Simple is not simply a recipe book for those living with the myriad Anti-inflammatory conditions that exist but it features many low-calorie options, too, so is actually super for helping you lose weight. As someone who has blood taken every 6 weeks due to chronic and often large spikes in inflammatory markers, I am always on the lookout for ways to dampen it down or eliminate it completely. An anti-inflammatory diet favours fruits and vegetables, foods containing omega-3 fatty acids, whole grains, lean protein, healthful fats, and spices. It discourages or limits the consumption of processed foods, red meats, and alcohol. Some foods contain ingredients that can trigger or worsen inflammation.

Sugary or processed foods may do this, while fresh, whole foods are less likely to have this effect. An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on fresh fruits and vegetables. Many plant-based foods are good sources of antioxidants, which help clear the body of toxicity. This is a great book with a selection of tasty and varied dishes to choose from and luckily most can be made from cheap ingredients that are easy to get hold of, although some are certainly more exotic and therefore more expensive, if you don't have them already. This, in my opinion, is worth getting a hardback copy of and the great thing is thanks to all the blood tests I undergo, I will actively know if it is helping in any way or not. Highly recommended.

This cookbook really does what it says -make an anti-inflammatory diet simple. I’ve been incorporating anti-inflammatory meals into my diet for about 2 years now and the recipes in this book look yummy, relatively easy and not super time consuming to make, and not very excessive when comes to ingredients or process. Overall, this cookbook did exactly what it was set out to do.
