This is a exciting and romantic adventure that will captivate fans of paranormal action, witty banter, and forbidden love, making it a perfect fit for readers who crave a steamy and suspenseful tale of opposites-attracting heroes and heroines.
This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!
A master of weapons and keeper of relics, mysterious herbs and magic, a fake marriage thats spicy, and a love for all eternity. Add magic, deception and suspense for a spicy paranormal read.
Get ready to sail away with a quick read adventure, solve a mystery and discover Savannah with all it's charm. The perfect way to spend an afternoon.
A standalone read that is part of an interconnected series.
A cursed weapon goes missing causing Greyson and Aura to join forces to recover it safely while danger and sparks fly. Another excellent tale in the Sentinels of Savannah that is not to be missed.
Thanks to publisher and netgalley for the tale. Opinions are entirely my own.
WoW this was a fun read! Lots of action! What happens when a agent that investigates supernatural items teams up with an immortal pirate? Lots of swashbuckling fun and adventure with a little romance thrown in!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Characters
Greyson is a Scottish pirate who’s over 200 years old and has been living in Savannah since their ship sunk just off the coast. He loves his crew and will do anything to protect then, which is how he first ran into Aura.
Aura is an Agent for Department 13 and hates Greyson after he blew her last mission. Since then, she’s been desperate to prove herself and secure hew position in Department 13 since she feels like it’s on edge and could be taken away at any moment since Greyson blew her cover.
Storyline
Greyson and Aura are teamed up together to find the elusive blade that thirsts for blood and has been discovered missing from the Department 13 vault. Since taking a mythical sword that can cut through any material on an international flight from Scotland to DC wouldn’t be smart, let alone challenging to get through customs, they sailed the Sea Dog all the way from Savannah to Glasgow.
Once there, they need to find and retrieve the sword, without getting killed.
Overall Thoughts
I’m really enjoying this series. The development of the characters, the levels to their personalities and the trauma they’ve experienced in the past is so well thought out. While I haven’t read all the earlier books to get a sense of whether their personalities and histories are consistent, I certainly got the sense they were.
Even the little details Lisa includes about how they became the person they are today is amazing. I really should go back and read the first three books, and of course keep an eye out for the remaining books!
The fifth book in the Sentinels of Savannah series. Greyson Till the immortal Master Gunner of the pirate ship the Sea Dog and Agent Aura Henderson of Department 13. A well written story that kept me turning pages. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, a sword, twists, turns, and romance. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This series is so much fun. Full of passion, adventure, action, and sexy pirates. This one also threw in a smart-mouthed bad-a$$ secret agent and between her and a pirate there were a lot of sparks and a lot of heat. They were tasked with finding a stolen mythical sword and she couldn’t stand that she was partnered up with a no-good pirate she didn’t trust. During a three week sailing across the ocean to Scotland things change while in such tight quarters. I enjoyed it. I found it hard to put down and not a lot of books have been doing that for me lately, so this one was definitely delicious and fun. I can’t wait for more.
This is my first introduction to this author and this series, but I’m definitely going to have to go back to the beginning and start reading!
Immortal pirates, paranormal, enemies to lovers, I mean what’s not to like?!?
I didn’t realize this was a modern day book but honestly I was really into it. It’s like Pirates of the Caribbean crossed with Warehouse 13 (which is an amazing show).
Definitely suggest giving this one a go!!
Thank you Entangled publishing and netgalley for my copy in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed a new adventure and couple in Sea Dog’s crew.
The story was catching and the pace was amazing, but I just couldn’t focus 100% on the main couple, for some reason. (I guess I am just too drawn to Caleb, and he has a bigger part in this story then the others before)
Nonetheless I’m invested in this series and can’t wait to read the next volume!
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have been looking forward to reading this since I love these characters so much. I have been wanted to see what Greyson's personal story would be like. Greyson first met Aura when he accidently blew her cover on a mission that failed. No one blames her for it, but she still holds a grudge against Greyson. So when she shows up to see who partner is and it is Greyson there is a chip on her shoulder the whole way that seems to become harder to carry. They are going after a sword that was stolen from the vault of a the mysterious Department 13. They must pretend to be a married couple. Aura fights against the connection between her and Greyson as does he but he knows she is perfect for him. This is one of those books where the pass come back to get in the way of this. This book has my heart racing with each chapter.
Is their relationship doomed before it even begins? Greyson & Aura need to learn to work together on this assignment but Aura doesn't know if she can trust him after her last assignment went so badly. She needs to prove to her boss that she can do better but in doing so she will put their relationship at risk. Greyson has moved on from his past and he knows that he is what Aura needs but can he prove to her that she can let go with him?
Will they find a way to get through this assignment and find the happiness that they both deserve.?
A good exciting read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.
An intriguing storyline and characters make this story awesome. The romance was an added bonus. Enjoyed it from start to finish.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
This is a great series and I am always on the lookout for the next book to come out! This one has Greyson and Aura which seems a mismatch but they really are great together when Aura isn't so "by the book!"
They have a long time on the ship as they go to Scotland to retrieve a sword that can cut through anything and Aura is keeping secrets that make a huge difference in how this retrieval is going to work.
There is lots of sexual tension between Aura and Greyson along with intrigue, drama, and lots of action. Secrets are revealed along the way and you start to understand that things just didn't "happen" but were carefully orchestrated to the conclusion.
It was fun to read and hard to put down!
This was a cute story. I enjoyed it. Not my favorite of the series but I do plan to continue reading the series.
The only hiccup I had was at the end. The Author says that Brunswick, Georgia is a suburb of Savannah and that's where the "Savannah Field Office" is. As someone who lived outside of Savannah, this isn't right. Since this is book five of the series I feel like it's almost even more disappointing because so much of Savannah had been captured beautifully in the previous books.
This is book #5 in this paranormal action adventure series. The underlying premise is immortal pirates finding their place in this century and end up falling in love. I have read each of the previous books but this is the first one to make me cry. Greyson, pirate, and Aura, Dept 13, FBI undercover officer are tasked to find a sword with the ability to cut anything in half. Lots of action and destruction.
A romance with immortal pirates and found family vibes, who could resist? This was a light & pleasant read. I liked this crew and the ways these flawed and scarred characters came together. A little too insta lust for my taste in a story going for the hate to love trope, the steamy scenes were meh, and some of the tension in the last third felt contrived rather than true to the characters. But overall, the characters were enjoyable enough to look past all of that for a fun read. (Although Aura was definitely getting on my nerves a bit) #PiratesPromise #NetGalley
The fifth book in Sentinels of Savannah, Pirate’s Promise is an exciting, entertaining read. Strong characters with their ups and downs and good interaction made this a great read and one I would recommend.
Sea Dog crew are back and as salty as ever!
They may be Immortal but that sure doesn't prevent them from finding trouble. The crew is also expanding at a rate of knots with all these soulmates they keep finding. Now the crew's master gunner is in Cupid's crosshairs!
Department 13 oare supposed to be the good guys but with any shady, grey area government department sometimes they do more harm than good. But when they are the ones to lose an ancient relic, this time it's the Pirates turn to get them out of hot water. But they are going to have a bit of a voyage beforehand - the relic has turned up in Scotland - once home of said Master Gunner!
Add in Dept 13 counterparts, obviously, of course, MI13 and there is an international incident just waiting to happen!
I was going to love this book from the outset. A - Immortal Pirates B - Set in Scotland and C - Kickbutt Agent Aura Henderson! Okay so B means I'm a wee bit biased - I am actually Scottish but there is nothing worse than a badly written Scots character or setting and this had neither! Aura may have her doubts about the veracity and staying power of a bunch of pirates but her newly minted partner has her wires buzzing. Greyson sure is easy on the eyes (okay brain cells if we're being pedantic).
Dirty deals, double agents, body stealing demons, werewolves - there is something for everyone to enjoy. The characters are scrappy, sparky, intelligent and have great chemistry. The Sea Dog is almost a character itself and the camaraderie of the crew is like one big, dysfunctional family. They may have bones to pick with each other (you can't be together for centuries and not fall out over something) but you go up against one and they'll all come after you!
Hoist the main sail my hearties and sail away with the Sea Dog crew!
Lisa writes my favorite genre...Pirates
Sexy Pirates and usually a woman in need of help.
The Sentinels of Savannah, a group of Pirates that have been alive for more than 200 years, after drinking from the Holy Grail. Greyson Till is the master gunner.. Has been collecting weapons for many years.
Aura Henderson works for the top secret government Department 13. They collect paranormal weapons, lock them away so they can cause no harm.
The Tyrfing Sword has disappeared from their vault. A sword that can cut through anything. And Greyson and Aura are tasked with finding and returning it. But Greyson accidentally blew her cover on her last case.. So she is not happy to work with him. .Posing as husband and wife.
Can they work together to return the sword?
Enemies to lovers at it's finest.
Can't wait for the next in this series.
