Loved! With so much action going on, this page-turner was hard to put down.
I enjoyed this addition to the Sentinels of Savannah series. And the last few chapters were more emotional than I expected and Greyson was...so...swoony.

Greyson Till, the immortal Master Gunner of a pirate ship has been growing his weapons collection for a long time. When secret division Department 13 contacts his crew to help them retrieve a legendary sword that has gone missing from their vaults.

The Department sends along their paranormal weapons expert Aura Henderson, who is not happy about who she has being paired with. The last time she saw the immortal pirate was when he blew her cover. And now, they have to pose as a married couple.

Neither is especially thrilled with this arrangement but Aura feels like she let her boss down after her cover was blown. And Greyson will protect her at all costs because it's his job.

Thanks so much to the author, Entangled and NetGalley for this ARC to review

Immortal Pirate, Greyson Till and Special Agent Aura Henderson are the couple of the hour the latest instalment in the Sentinels of Savannah series, and true to form their romance isn’t plain sailing.

“An evil, hungry sword. This was going to be…interesting.”

As the crew face their latest adventure and the challenges it brings, there’s no shortage of action alongside the romance between a couple who are as equally stubborn as they are perfect for one another. All in all another entertaining and satisfying trip aboard the Sea Dog and with continuing storyline build-up I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.

Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of Pirate's Promise by Lisa Kessler! This book is the 5th book in the Sentinels of Savannah series (but I haven't read any of the other books in the series, so don't feel like you have to) and it comes out on the 26th, so make sure you run and grab it then!
Pirate's Promise 4/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads:
Greyson Till never found a weapon he didn’t like. As the immortal Master Gunner of a pirate ship, he’s grown his collection for over two hundred years. So when a legendary cursed blade that can cut through any material goes missing from the government’s paranormal artifact vault, he’s eager to retrieve it. Working with the secret division Department 13 has always come with its set of challenges, but this one is the worst yet.
Along with the mission comes fiery, no-nonsense paranormal weapons expert Aura Henderson, who couldn't be less thrilled about this pairing. The last time they saw each other, Greyson accidentally blew her cover, almost killing them both. Worst of all, to get the sword, she has to pose as Greyson's wife. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a sexy grumbly pirate, whether in reality or just pretend.
When they locate the relic, the gilded blade thirsts for blood and things aren’t what they seem. Greyson isn’t sure who to trust anymore, and he’s not about to let death come between them...
The whole idea of having a magical relics department within the government sounds so cool to me! I'm all about that. And immortal pirates who drank from the Holy Grail to become immortal? Even cooler! So this book was already starting out on a really high note. Getting to know Aura and Greyson made me like this book even more- they're so fun and they have so much great chemistry! I really enjoyed the story- I had never heard of the sword that they were trying to get back, but it sounded like a very intense relic that definitely needed to be contained. The whole demon aspect of the book was unexpected, but definitely enjoyable. Overall, I really liked everything about this book and I'm probably going to go back and read books 1-4 now! The pacing was really great too and I was never bored or confused about what was going on- I can't wait to read more in this world!

Pirate's Promise is the fifth book in the Sentinels of Savannah series by Lisa Kessler. A sexy, fun, fast-paced story that pulled me in from the beginning and held my attention until the very end. While I have not read the previous books in the series, I must read them about reading this intoxicating story.

I’m a big fan of paranormal romance, and this one didn’t disappoint! I loved the modern take on pirates and the relationship between the crew was great. Aura and Greyson’s chemistry was steamy and worked in all of the best ways. If you’re a fan of romance with an action-packed story I highly recommend this one! I will definitely be checking out more from this series.

This book was so much fun to read! It was my first novel by Lisa Kessler and believe me it will not be my last.
It reminded me a lot of Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld series. It has all kinds of supernatural aspects: Immortal pirates, psychics, werewolves, demons and mythical swords. It also has a thrilling adventure and a well developed enemies to lovers romance. The side characters were great. They had so much mystery to them. I wish we got a little more than the tiniest sneak peak of their stories. I guess that is what the rest of the series is for. I just wanted a tad bit more explanations to get me invested. All in all, I am so glad I decided to pick this up.
I can’t wait to see what else this series and author has in store.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

However, there are very powerful others who
Have other uses for this sword that will cleave anything in two.

Immortal pirates, a Paranormal government official and a dangerous artefact what could possibly happen.

I loved the pirate ship, it looks traditional but has its modern bits. Greyson and his crewmates are family and I liked that. This isn't the first book in this series but I fell into the story easily.

Both of them have a stubborn streak, both dedicated to their work.

This is a good story full of pirates that have lived for a while and are no longer a stereotype pirate.

There's danger and passion and a storyline to keep you anchored to this book. 😉

**I received a copy of Pirate's Promise from Entangled Publishing in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.**

Pirate's Promise by Lisa Kessler is part of the authors Sentinels of Savannah Series I have read all of the books and each one gets better and better. For me revisiting some of the places I visited in Savannah years ago brings back wonderful memories.

Since this is the Greyson, The Master Gunner and an Aura a Paranormal agent who is part of Warehouse 13 trying to find the Legendary Norse Tyrfing Sword which has the ability to slice through any material that was stolen from the vault. However each character will have to use their strengths to keep the sword from enticing them and get it back safely from to vault from Scotland. The last time Greyson was in Scotland he was standing at the gallows for a crime he didn't commit. Aura will have to face a person from her NYPD career who wasn't entirely human. Can they get the sword back in the vault because it causes more havoc? Will Aura drink from the Grail so that her love for Greyson is forever?

Hello pirates! How have I missed this series up until now? Pirate's Promise by Lisa Kessler is a exciting adventure with the perfect blend of great characters, suspense and steamy heat. It made for a hard book to put down.

Greyson and Aura. Trust issues, strong streaks of stubbornness, and their love of weapons. These two were made for each other. The chemistry between them was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed how it went from ‘Oh no, not Him/Her’ to ‘I can’t live without you’. The story had the perfect blend of heat and suspense, with a dash of levity and great secondary characters. Let us also not forget, PIRATES! I loved how, despite how old they were, these pirates felt very modern. I look forward to backtracking and reading their stories.

I really enjoyed Greyson and Aura’s story and has sparked my interest in wanting to know more about the other coupled up characters. This is most certainly a great series and while Pirate’s Promise worked out very well for me as a standalone, I highly suggested reading the Sentinels of Savannah Series so you don’t miss out on all that yummy goodness.

Stars: 4

I previously read Pirate's Passion in this series, and whereas I didn't love that one, this one was a lot better!
I loved Aura and Greyson, they complement each other perfectly and both were badass and didn't back down for everything.
That ending might have been a little cliché, but I loved it nonetheless.
I really like this world with immortal pirates and magical artifacts and beings!

Aura is an agent for the FBI in Department 13, they deal in paranormal activity. She is sent to Savannah to meet up with pirates and work with one in particular, Greyson. A little while back, Greyson blew Aura’s cover in a coven of witches. Now they are partnered up to get a, sword that can cut through anything, back. Greyson is Master Gunner on the Sea Dog and a pirate from centuries ago. Aura doesn’t trust the pirate because her last partner tried to kill her. But to get the sword back, they must trust each other.

Loved this story. Centuries old pirates, a woman who thinks she has nothing to live for but her job. Sex.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between Aura and Greyson. I also liked that she was the one hesitant to get involved in a long term relationship. It made more sense because Greyson is immortal so he had time to emotionally grow wiser.

This is a fun, sexy and hard to put down book. Aura is haunted by memories of a partner who was not what she thought he was. Facing her demon with an immortal pirate makes for a great read. I must get the previous books to read. That said not reading them first did not detract from this one.
