In Lauren Elliott's seventh book in her Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery series, To the Tome of Murder, a murder hits close to home for the Beyond the Page Bookstore owner and amateur sleuth Addie Greyborne. The boyfriend of Addie's cousin Kalea is found dead in Kalea's dress shop. Addie has to work hard to solve this murder and save her cousin from prison. I really liked how Addie's friends helped her investigate and brainstorm possible suspects. This is a fun cozy mystery!

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

A cute little quirky murder mystery book. It is apparent that this book is part of a series yet I never felt like I wasn't able to follow along with the story. I enjoyed that it was a clean mystery without any unnecessary gore. Thank you for a quirky light read.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

To the Tome of Murder by Lauren Elliott is a wonderful cozy mystery that is the seventh book in the amazing series: Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery. I just love this series!

I loved visiting the quaint, picturesque, and coastal town of Greyborne Harbor again. Bookshop owner, Addie, is caught into another murder/mystery yet again, this time it is the significant other of her cousin.

There are plenty of culprits, the plot kept me entertained, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. I like Addie. She is realistic, likable, and it is hard not to be on her team.

I look forward to book number eight.

5/5 stars

This was the first book I read of this series and I couldn't put it down. The town of Greyborne Harbor sounds awesome and I would love to visit their shops. Addie has great friends in Paige and Serena and I would love to sit around with them and talk about all things and maybe solve a murder. I know I am coming into this series late but I couldn't help find myself team Marc versus Simon. I could see how well Simon treated her but it was just something about Marc that I liked. I can't wait until the next installment.
Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for the advance read.

To the Tome of Murder by Lauren Elliott (Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery #7) 3.5 stars

A follow up to "Under the Cover of Murder" that was published earlier this year, Addie Grayborne has her hands full. The holidays are coming up - prime season for a bookseller; the town is sponsoring a Civil War theme culinary competition, luckily Addie stocked up on Civil War books that are flying out of her store. In the midst of the mayhem, Addie's cousin calls her in the morning for help; her cousin's boyfriend is dead in her shop and she is suspect number one. Addie is determined to make sure her cousin doesn't spend the rest of her life in prison. It will take persistence, logic, and a lot of luck to find the real murderer.

This is the seventh book in the series and I will say that all the books are interesting and a fun reads. But this one was not my favorite. Addie's cousin is not a very sympathetic character and this pretty much took away some of the fun. As usual I enjoy learning about old books and antiques; I consider that a strength of this series. I will say I was not surprised as to the identity of the murderer. The relationship between Addie and Simon appears to be progressing nicely and I will be reading the next book to see if there will be any hitches in their courtship. I look forward to A Margin for Murder coming out in April 2022.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC

Lauren Elliott does it again! This series has quickly become my top favorite choice for a "cozy mystery". Addie Greyborn is an extremely relatable character. She is who I like to think would be a grown up Nancy Drew. I always greatly enjoy books within this series and will be adding this book to my list of recommendations.

Another solid entry in a good series set in coastal Massachusetts bookstore. Interesting characters, who are small business owners.

To the Tome of Murder is book 7 in the wonderful cozy mystery series Beyond the Page Bookstore Mysteries by Lauren Elliott. This is an enjoyable cozy mystery with likable characters and an interesting mystery. This book takes place in November leading up to Thanksgiving. Addie Greyborne owns a bookstore and is dating Simon who is a doctor. Addie's cousin Kalea owns a dress shop and creates her own designs. Kalea's boyfriend Jared is found dead in the dress shop and Kalea is the prime suspect. There is a cooking competition in town based on Civil War recipes which keeps the bookstore very busy. A descendent of Sarah Josepha Hale, (who wrote Civil War era magazines and Mary Had A Little Lamb) is trying to collect everything she can that was written by her. It all keeps Addie very busy. I guessed the culprit but wasn't sure until the end. There aren't a lot of suspects but there is enough going on to keep it interesting. Very enjoyable! #NetGalley #ToTheTomeOfMurder #LaurenElliott #KensingtonBooks

As I started reading this book, it became clear to me that I'd stepped into an ongoing series. Though the book really can stand alone, I'm thinking it would have been even more enjoyable if I'd read some of the others and this one was charming enough for me to want to do that.
I loved the setting and the theme (Civil War Cooking) that the book revolved around. The mystery was not hard to figure out, but getting there is half the fun.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. I can imagine getting immersed in the whole series.

With only three weeks until Thanksgiving and an historically themed competition based around Civil War era cooking underway, it's fair to say things are pretty lively in Greyborne Harbor. Addie Greyborne has window displays based around American writers and the recipes of yesteryear as well as replica posters from Godey's Ladies Magazine decorating the inside of her bookstore. The relevant books she's ordered are flying off the shelves and, for Addie and her friends life is pretty good.

A phone call from her distraught cousin, and fellow store owner, Kalea, threatens everything as haltingly she tells Addie that her boyfriend is dead. Unfortunately, with all the evidence pointing in Kalea's direction, Addie knows it's down to her to find the clues to clear her cousin's name and identity the real killer even if the task appears impossible.

This is the seventh in the Beyond the Page Bookstore series and is like visiting with old friends. Addie Greyborne, descendant of the town founders and owner of a used and rare bookstore, is once again on the hunt for a killer but unfortunately this time the clues lead firmly in cousin Kalea's direction.

With all the main protagonists here once again the story bounds along in a very satisfying manner with the cooking competition giving the chance to include some historical information and add another layer to the storyline. I enjoyed this very much, it is part of an enjoyable, relatable series which always delivers.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This is a lovely series which is always great to return to.

Another great book in this series.
Addie's cousin is accused of killing her boyfriend, and the ammeter sleuth is determined to prove her innocence. Great characters, easy to follow plot. This mystery was a little easier to figure out than previous ones, but still a good read.

I always enjoy a Greyborne Harbor mystery, but this one didn’t do it for me. It was a great set-up, but the first (and only) character that I suspected of the murder ended up being guilty, so I was not taken in by the twists and turns. Instead, I felt frustrated with Addie and the police for missing what felt so obvious to me.

Lauren Elliott delivers another delightful tale again as Addie and her friends are on the case! The Civil War themed cooking/baking contest which centered this story was a delightful backdrop. Highly recommend!

Kalae has never been a likely character. Glad she is leaving and hopefully not coming back. Needs grammatical corrections.

I enjoyed this book. I did think it was a bit slow in the middle but otherwise it was good. I liked the characters. I was surprised by who the bad guy was. #TotheTomeofMurder #NetGalley

Addie's cousin is accused of killing her boyfriend, and Addie is determined to prove her innocence. There is a Civil War themed cooking/baking contest running, which centers the story around such themed books and a collector. Surprise as to whom did the killing, as well as a few announcements during the Thanksgiving dinner toast! Thanks to NetGalley & Kensington Books for the preview in exchange for an honest review.

In this 7th entry to the Beyond the Page Bookstore series, we see Addie and her friends approaching Thanksgiving and partaking in a Civil War era bakery contest. Of course, a murder opens the pages of this book--Addie's cousin's boyfriend, this time--and Addie and crew are on the case to try to prove her innocence. There is a great cast of potential suspects--including Addie's cousin herself--so this one keeps you guessing.

Elliot creates a great, cosy setting for this series. It almost made me forget I was reading this in the heat of a July summer--the November setting and snowy New England milieu was a welcome respite from the real-life summer heat! And I love Addie's doggy companion.

As usual, I suggest starting at the beginning of this series rather than jumping in here, but this probably could be read as a standalone. There are also some continued character developments that will make this a must-read for lovers of the series.

I love this series by Lauren Elliot. Addie is the amateur sleuth and she usually figures the who done it out. This one, though, hit a little close to home for her, but she does well. There is such a great story behind the mystery with the town of Greyborne Harbor. If you love a great cozy this is a good series. A GREAT READ.

I enjoy reading this long running series about Addy Greyborne, her friends and books. Her cousin, who always annoys me, is being accused of murdering her boyfriend and Addie needs to prove her innocence. Fun to catch up with old characters and introduced to new.
