Another great book in the Honey Creek series by Jodi Thomas. In book
three of the series, we travel into the nearby town of Clifton Bend.
This book interweaves the lives of the mysterious Preacher's son Hank, librarian Millie, Professors Benjamin and Virginia, college student Ketch and the wary waitress Tuesday. Each character has their own troubled past but the join forces to stop a pipe bomber. Some of my favorite characters, Pecos and the sheriff, make a cameo appearance.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for a copy of this book for review
Sweet and utterly enjoyable…
Honey Creek is one of those places I wish were real. From quirky homes to quirkier, eccentric people, the town quietly embraces them all, comforting and nurturing…
This story followed three very different couples as they fell in love in wildly varied ways and whys. This was home, whether now or in the past, and they all felt that connection. Six people, their paths intersecting and winding together, slowly revealed their secrets to one another….
What happens when you put a lawman, ex-military, professors, a librarian and a woman still finding herself, in a town surrounded by a deadly threat? There is drama but also many moments of quiet reflection on choices made. Their stories snuck up on me with emotion that I didn’t see coming until I was completely lost in it all…
The charm of this town and its inhabitants never fails to capture my heart and this time was no exception…
Three stories of three very different men who find themselves seeking a long lasting relationship. A college professor who has kept to himself and likes order encounters an unorganized, freestyle professor which leads to a memory for both of them. A rabble rousing preacher's kid who returns to town and accidentally hits the loved local librarian. He ends up caring for her in her recovery. A former soldier, dumped by his fiancee, gets drunk and is escorted home by a quiet barmaid. The three men end up working together to help the community and end up with roots and love.
Dinner on Primrose Hill by Jodi Thomas was a great story. This is book three in the Honey Creek series. It is a small-town story that was so well written. I have loved all the books in this series and really enjoy reading stories by this author. This book is full of characters and the storyline was full or romance and provided a depth of emotions for me. I recommend this story and this author.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is the best of the series so far, in my opinion. Although part of a series this book can be read as a standalone story.
The author's ability to weave three relationships into the story is a real gift. It takes skill to make each individual couple a part of the main story. They all come to life in this small town that welcomes and cherishes it's inhabitants.
You'll find yourself rooting for successful outcomes for Hank and Millie, Ketch and Tuesday, and Ben and Jenny. You'll laugh and cry as their stories are revealed and relationships progress.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
This is a well written small town romance that was an absolute joy to read. I loved everything about this book,. If you are a fan of small town romances, you will love this book. I received a complimentary copy from Kensington Books, Zebra via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I don't know how anyone could finish a Jodi Thomas novel and not feel this warm, happy feeling inside. I have absolutely loved every single book in this series, and they just keep getting better. I love how the stories spread to the areas outside of Honey Creek, and how all the characters intertwine. Each character has their own heart breaking back story that just makes you want a happy ending for them, makes you "root" for them to break from their pasts, and Jodi Thomas writes it all so beautifully. I am in awe of this woman and her ability to write stories that reach out and grabs you by the heart. I will be patiently waiting for another book to come, because I know when I get to read another one it will be such a treat!
I have read several of Jodi Thomas’ books and this one did not disappoint. Three couples, all lonely and lost, find love in a small Texas town. A mystery bomber is an exciting part of the story. 4 stars.

This latest novel by Jodi Thomas is part 3 in the Honey Creek series. It begins with introducing each set of duo characters, their position in Clifton College and how they fit in with the town's history. Clifton College is a small school yet very well known for its talented and intelligent students. There are the returning folks who work for the police and sheriff's department as well as the mayor of the town. This is a fun yet very interesting story of how six different people come to depend on each other. Each comes to confide in each other as well as helping save the small town from an angry, brutal group.
I have read the first two in the series, Breakfast at the Honey Creek Cafe and Picnic in Someday Valley. I enjoyed them but this particular selection was heartwarming and a welcome change. It provided a range of reading emotions. The reader is part of the microcosm of scattered villagers within the picturesque Texas territory.
Dinner on Primrose Hill by Jodi Thomas is published by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing Corporation. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review Thomas´s latest book via NetGalley. It is due to be released on October 26, 2021. Dinner on Primrose Hill was such a pleasure to read. It´s characters made me laugh and feel sad for them. Her fans are going to welcome part 3 of this series. For those who have never read Jodi Thomas I encourage you to read this one. It is a comforting and a joy to experience her tales of these inspiring couples.

Absolutely enjoyable and cozy small-town romance.
I loved the story, and I will now go looking for the other stand-alones in the series. I need the full effect and need the story of the other couples.
This book by Jodi Thomas was great. It is a wonderful story that follows 3 couples in a cozy little town. All three couples get their HEA and there is even a little mystery thrown in. If you love Jodi Thomas then you will love this book.
Loved it. A wonderfully diverse group of couples and small town characters. Their variety of situations and methods of meeting or connecting was quite clever. I want more! I don't recall visiting Honey Creek previously, but want to discover what I have missed and also what happens next. There was even a bit of a mystery in this book. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
I have read other novels by Jodi Thomas and enjoyed revisiting one the the couples from before in this one. This is about two professors at a small college in a small town who work together on a research project relating to what attracts people to other individuals of the opposite sex. There are three couples (including the professors) who are personally exploring this question in addition to the actual survey that goes with the research study. They eventually meet to help solve the mystery of who is planting bombs in various places around town. So this book is like a smorgasbord. You have a whodunit, and three separate romances happening all in one delightful read. I recommend this for some light reading -- but only if you have a large block of time to sit down to read because you won't want to put it down.
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
A typical Jodi Thomas story. This time there are three couples we follow through out the book. At first they have nothing in common but as time goes by their lives intertwine. Each faces a challenge as well as the danger that brings everyone together. I was sorry that it was over. I would have enjoyed seeing more of the three couples.

Dinner on Primrose Hill
by Jodi Thomas
Dinner on Primrose Hill was a little difficult to get into as it is filled with a number of characters, each of whom is given their own chapter from their point of view. I initially was drawn into this book and enjoyed it well enough; however, the plot and premise are utterly ridiculous.
I guess this is a sure sign of the author's ability to write characters and stories that I didn't even realize how truly ridiculous the book was until I was almost finished with the book.
I liked the book enough but far too much of the story is forced and there are entirely too many people to keep up with and many of the plots ever never wrapped up. I really wanted to enjoy this book but I was left frustrated with the forced finish and lack of conclusion on some plot lines.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.
Dinner on Primrose Hill by Jodi Thomas is the third book in the series but can be read alone. I devoured it. Once again I am mesmerized by Jodi’s writing and character development. At first I was worried that there were three couples and would I be able to keep up. Each of them are unique in their challenges and relationships that it was such a treat.
Ben and Virginia(Red) – Both professors at the local college. Ben realizes he knows Virginia as red from his college days. She has asked him to help with a research project – The Chemistry of Mating. Ben and is OCD (my words; not the authors) was adorable.
Ketch and Tuesday – you love Ketch from the beginning, and I fell in love with the house as much as he did. Ketch is ex-military, attending the college and working in construction. His girlfriend has broken up with him in a letter. He meets Tuesday and they start a sweet friendship.
Hank and Millie – I loved each of the couples but Hank and Millie may have been my favorite. Everyone in town thinks of Hank as the bad boy. He may be all grown up but they still see him as the reckless youth driving a Harley and riding bulls in the rodeo. He has not lost his taste for adventure. He runs over (literally) the librarian that everyone loves.
Each of the men were adorable and the women were strong leads for each of them. I highly recommend this book. To date every Jodi Thomas book I have read has been wonderful. I read this one in two days.
Three couples in Honey Creek- three odd couples, really, Benjamin and Jenny are both professors. He doesn't know if she remembers him from long ago. Ketch is a veteran back in school who falls for Tuesday, a bartender. And Hank meets Millie when he hits her with his motorcycle. He, as it turns out, is on a bomb squad, which is convenient because someone is leaving bombs around this bucolic town. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Yes some of it is stilted and yes there are plot holes but sometimes a sweet story is just what you need,
A Harley, a broken-hearted guy, written by Jodi Thomas. I was entranced from the first sentence. I really felt for Ketch. All his dreams destroyed and he thinks no one will ever love him. There are two other couples who comprise the story and I liked the meshing of their stories. Some of the author’s phrases had me laughing out loud. I liked all the characters but had a special interest in Ketch. I loved this book because it made me feel good while reading it.
I loved this book. Told from multiple points of view, it just worked. Three couples, one young, one in mid-life, and one totally mis-matched, and the way their love stories evolve.
A recently retired military man, dumped by his fiancée can't decide what to do with his life once his well planned future begins to crumble. His one night of indulgence and self pity opens the door to a new relationship with a woman who can't or won't let herself feel.
A well thought of professor finally realizes his perceived nemesis is. She is the professor with the office next to his, How does he know her? Can the memories they shared at one time come back to them with the intensity of their youth?
A rebellious man who has left his town under a cloud and the librarian who no one knows anything about. His actions put her under his care, and her actions open his heart.
A beautifully woven story or love, loss, need, and the knowledge that when things happen as a child or an adult and aren't worked through at the time, they become limiting to us as age takes over. This book is just homey. I wanted to crawl under a blanket in my cozy chair and savor the story after I was done reading.
