Annalise may be attracted to the handler of one of the police dogs she trains, but she will ignore that with every professional bone in her body. When she is attacked by a man who pretended to be someone else on an online dating platform, she will need to rely on Brett to keep her safe.
I wanted to like this book. The first part of the book spends way too much time referencing other books the author has written in the series, mentioning various couples without any content. Perhaps if you had read all of the other books, you might appreciate the nostalgic nods, but it ends up being just page filler with no impact on the story. Annalise, as a professional, seems unbelievable. She appears to have very little knowledge of police work and her surroundings, despite the fact that not only does she train police dogs, and most states require K-9 trainers not only to have years of police experience but also have handler experience, but the majority of her vast immediate and extended family is part of the police force. It really detracted from any story line.
