What a finale! I loved, loved, loved this book! The entire series is fantastic of course, but this one was probably my favorite. The story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I loved how we really got to see the deep love Pip had for her friends and family. I can't keep the first two on my shelves in my classroom and I can't wait to have this one available for students.

I'm really sad that this is the last book in this series. I've really enjoyed reading all of these.

This is a book three, so there could be spoilers below from the first two books.

Pip is having a very hard time coping after Stanley was killed in front of her. She hears gunshots and thinks there's blood on her all the time. She's been secretly buying Xanax and using it to sleep. Nothing is really helping though and she wonders if one more case will do it. Max is out and she's still pissed about it. Pip starts getting weird messages, chalk drawings, and dead pigeons and realizes that she has a stalker. She and Ravi look those things up online and find a connection to a serial killer that has been in prison for years. The man confessed, but later said it was a false confession. Pip starts to wonder if he's really innocent and if there's a serial killer after her now.

Things took a weird turn I didn't expect in the middle of the book. I wasn't really happy with it, but it did work out ok. I found the book so hard to put down and read longer than normal to finish it. I needed to know what would happen. I liked the focus on friendship along with the serial killer/revenge/stalking storyline. Ravi is still awesome and might be the perfect boyfriend ever. There are quite a few twists throughout the book and the pacing is excellent.

I gave this book 4 1/2 stars rounded up to 5 on Goodreads. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my review copy.

Warnings for stalking, blood, fire, mention of date rape, ptsd, death, gore.

I have some issues with this book and I'm not sure how I feel about what went on in it morally, but THE FREAKING SUSPENSE, MAN, I could not put it down! This trilogy has really been delivering on the murder-mystery front and this third one did not at all go the way I expected.

OH MY GOD. For those of you wondering if Holly Jackson can make a thrilling, edge of your seat read a third time -- she absolutely does. I think As Good As Dead may be my favorite so far in this series.

Main character Pip is back, the high school creator of a viral true-crime podcast. As she struggles with PTSD after her experiences in the first and second book, she begins to prepare for college. Pip however begins to receive threats that lead to the suspicion of a dangerous stalker. Interwoven in surprising ways with her first two cases, Pip begins to dig without the help of the police.

Darker and more dangerous than the first two, I flew through the pages. This is the kind of read that when I was only halfway through, I was just like, HOW WILL THIS EVEN END!? Literally on the edge of my seat with my watch reminding me to breathe. I particularly appreciated Holly Jackson's note at the end and personal frustrations (which come through very nicely in the story) of how our criminal justice system and police so often fail society.

Can't wait to continue reading about Pip.

This was the last in the series of books about crime solver Pip. I didn't realize it was a series book until I began to read and found myself a bit lost. It is a standalone book but contains many references to past events that are confusing if you have not read the entire series. The book was slow to evolve to me the reader in that vein so I struggled through it. I did find the main character, Pip to be engaging and likable. Well written and creative, this is a book that I am sure fans of the previous boos will devour. Thanks to #AsGoodAsDed#NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I almost stopped reading, at the half-way point, as I didn't understand her decision. I am very glad that I stuck with the book, and understood what she was doing.

It was a great trilogy. Thanks so much, and I loved the ending.

It’s been over 2 weeks and i still haven’t processed this book to write a comprehensive review, so here goes the worlds most chaotic review ever.

This book took a turn down crazy lane and then jumped off the insane cliff and landed right there in a sea full of ‘what the fuck just happened?’. And i mean this all in the nicest way possible. I gobbled it up in a span of a day.

We deal with Pip and her PTSD as she tries to go back to her life after the events of the last book. Holly writes Pip’s story in such a way that it pulls at all your heart strings. It deals with all the black and white as well as grey areas. We see many of the characters in the previous books come back again and i just loved to see the relationship Pip has with each one.
Ravi was a favorite of mine but in this book i fell in love with him. He’s so supportive of Pip and is there for her whenever she needs him. You can tell the lengths he would cross for her.

The mystery in this book was predictable for me, but everything else was not.
I think i went through 5 mini heart attacks in the span of a few chapters. This book is the definition of biting your fingernails, sitting at the edge of your seat, pacing the room in a state of madness and a hundred ways things can go wrong. Did i forget to mention that it has all the creepy elements as well? Oh and the fact that you will scream like a gazillion times mixed with tears nearing the end.
I really loved this trilogy and i wish we could get more of team Pip and Ravi in a new setting with all new characters but sadly this trilogy has come to an end and i can only imagine their new cases to solve.

This trilogy is a must read even if you’re not a fan of mystery books, i urge you to give this one a go.

This was really good! It was a lot darker than the last two books especially considering how much more involved Pip is with all the crime plot thing. I wasn't really sure what to expect because after every book I'm like "well how much more can you add" because these crimes are solved but then more just keeps getting added and all linked together and it's so interesting! It was also very interesting to read from this point of view where she's just spiraling basically. She has this PTSD and all these issues, and it's really interesting to read her thought process through all these other issues she's dealing with. These books are just so interesting to read because I'm constantly guessing right along with the main character and it makes it so fun to read and keeps me engaged.
I will say in the beginning it was a little slower than I liked, which is why it took me a bit to get through the book, but once it picked up it really picked up and I finished the book quick. It was also way more like a thriller than the other two which honestly was really great.

It's the end. The final installment of the Good Girl's Guide.

Was it a little drawn out and dramatic? A little bit but there were definitely some plot twists and a major decision on Pip (and Ravi's) part that shifted some things.

For the true crime fans, it's a win of a series that plays to all of the ambitions of a girl who loves to solve mysteries and puts herself right into the thick of things. And there's so much horribleness in the world sometimes-- it's okay that there is-- but fighting back is part of it and ask Jackson relays at the end of the book, part of the inspiration comes from a place of anger and frustration but she turned it into something that others could connect with.

The ending put a period and exclamation point on the end of the series for sure, but I much prefer how it all got started...

I have loved this whole series, but I had a little trouble with this last book. A lot of the actions by Pip seem to be wayyy out of character, and it took me a little bit to get used to it. That being said I love the social commentary and awareness this book brings to our problematic justice system and police forces. Overall I enjoyed this book, but I was really sad for Pip and the loss of her identity.

Fantastic! This will be DEVOURED by my students when they get their hands on this book! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

HOLY. SH*T. I cannot remember the last time I was so pleased with the final book in a series, even though I would HAPPILY read more! I was so utterly distressed the last quarter of the book that I had to skip ahead just to see what happened and THEN go back and calmly read it, still nail-bitingly anxious. As Good As Dead was a bold choice and it paid off handsomely.

I thought that the last book was pretty dark, but that one was a walk in the park compared to this final book. The story and the characters come full circle in this twisted dark tale of a girl just trying to survive.

Pip is suffering big time in this book. Her PTSD has only gotten worse since she witnessed a murder in the second book. She is struggling so hard just to keep it together and appear normal even when she isn’t. Then when signs that she is being stalked appear and no ones seems to believe her, she really begins to doubt herself. Thank god for Ravi though, he is her rock, and I loved that when things got tough she would hear his voice in her head urging her to stay calm and think things through.

I was so glad that we got to see a bit more of Ravi in this book. But I was a bit surprised by his agreeing to help Pip when she got into a very messy situation. I thought he would be the voice of reason, but he did agree with Pip that her solution was best in the end. I would have liked to see a bit more growth in him, but I was just glad that he was there when Pip really needed him.

This story was different than the other two. There wasn’t as much involvement with the podcast as there really wasn’t a mystery that Pip was trying to solve. There were still newsclips and other things interspersed with the narrative, but not as much as in the other books. The story really goes full circle with many of the characters from the first book being back and heavily involved in the plot. The stalker was super creepy and when it was revealed who it was, I will admit I was surprised. I totally had someone else in mind. The ending was solid and I really liked it.

Overall this was a series that I do recommend you pick up. Especially if you like dark and twisty mysteries, or strong female leads, or even true crime podcasts.

I almost don't even know how to review this book. So many storylines converged, characters shifted into gray areas, and the suspense- THE SUSPENSE- had me the whole time. I don't want to write too much in case of spoilers but, man, this book got me in such a good way.

I feel like this book was well written like all of the others. However, I felt like the story was thrilling at certain parts and then really lacked in certain parts. That being said, this series could not have ended with anything else, my only issue is I want to know what happens to Pip now.

Thank you Netgalley and Random House for this incredible arc, the finale to one of my favorite series, As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson.

Wow! Where to begin? This book was serious!! I mean the 2nd book had a serious ending but this just.... it's EVERYTHING!! Holy cow, ya'll (yes, I try not to actually use bad language) but yeah... holy freaking cows ya'll. This is intense!

To start from the start, Pip is really struggling with PTSD symptoms. She is hypervigalante as in a loud noise sounds like gunfire, sweaty palms feeling like her hands covered in blood. All that fun stuff. She is unfortunately still dealing with Max Hastings who is accusing her of libel (definite asshat) (am I allowed to say that?)

All of this is made so much worse when she realizes she is being stalked.... and it's super creepy, dead pigeons and chalk drawings getting closer to her house. The only person who listens and tries to help is Ravi (I love you RAVI!!!) This stalker is well known in the area but it is believed he was caught and is now and forever in jail.
But is he?
Pip is on the case of her life! Will she find the .killer before it's too late?

I definitely recommend this series! And the last book, this finale, is amazing (chef's kiss 💋).

Look for this on Sept. 28th!

I've really enjoyed the entire AGGGTM trilogy. Once I start reading one of these books, I'm hooked until the end. Good luck getting me to go to bed before I'm done! This third and final entry took a sharp, dark turn that caught me a bit off-guard, but didn't seem out of character for the Fairview crew we've come to know. As things come full-circle for Pip and pals, we as readers are asked to sit in some uncomfortable moments and consider where we draw the line and what we expect and accept as justice. In a culture fully embracing true crime as entertainment, it's important for us to stop and consider the cost, and As Good As Dead compels us to do that. A fitting final chapter in an engrossing series!

This was a disappointing end to an otherwise great trilogy. Most of the elements I loved in the other two books were gone and replaced with a predictable slog.

The biggest issue here is the pacing. For a while I thought it would pick up after the beginning but if anything it only got worse with long chunks that took longer to read than they probably would have happened in real time and few plot developments coming up.

My other issue is that it really wasn't a mystery. I kept grumbling about how long it took to actually figure out what the mystery is and then once we did it only lasted for less than a third of the book before being solved in a super predictable and anti-climactic manner. The rest maybe could have been considered a crime thriller but there was almost no element of curiosity to make it feel worth the slog.

The rest of the series is so well-crafted and exciting and some of the details in here are cool to see in terms of how they work in with the other two mysteries but since the second one doesn't end on a cliffhanger I would say you're totally fine skipping out on this one.

This book was the perfect ending to the perfect mystery series. Jackson did a fantastic job of creating new mysteries for each book, while also tying them together so well. I’ve been looking forward to this one forever, and it did not disappoint! I was practically holding my breath for the entire second half of the book- so many twists and so many emotions-fear, excitement, dread, relief, confusion, shock. Had to put the book down and come back to it several times because it was making me anxious! Definitely recommend this book to any fans of true crime podcasts. Can’t wait to see what Holly Jackson comes up with next!

Note: I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The last in the series of The Good Girl's Guide to Murder. It was a quick read though there was a lot that was a little unbelievable. Pip spent most of her time in this story trying to keep everyone safe and then realizing she never wanted to let them go. Then she was right back to alienating everyone. That got a little tiring.
