After trying and failing to really get into a Sariah Wilson book, I've realized her writing style just isn't for me. First off, it's a little too "sweet". Now let me be clear, I don't need characters to be doing the wild thing in the middle of the grocery store, but a little more open door is my jam. Second, the sweet extends to the writing style. It's so sweet it gave me a toothache. Realistic? Maybe to some. I just find it not quite believable and harder to get through. Let me be clear, this is just a me preference.

This was a cute, light read and I really enjoyed the characters a lot. A fun summer romance, but nothing earth-shattering, in my opinion. However, romance lovers would probably enjoy this.

What a fun book to read, a rom-com, disaster love story. Sariah Wilson does it again, another story that makes you fall in love with her fun style of writing. This book is for anyone who wants a good laugh with their romance.

THE PAID BRIDESMAID by Sariah Wilson is a fun, lighthearted read about Rachel, bridesmaid for hire, and Camden, the best man who catches her eye.

I've read a few other books with similar storylines - paid bridesmaid uncovered by suspicious family member/bridal party member/etc. - I enjoy the topic and thought Wilson wrote a fun, easy to read story. I may have enjoyed other books covering this trope more, though. This writing was enjoyable but felt like it lacked a little depth. Definitely a fun read I would recommend, particularly to fan's of Wilson's other work.

This book was so good I had to go to Pinterest and create an aesthetic for it. This book was so good, it made me believe in love all over again. This book was so so freaking good, I think my expectations of love have increased too much.

Camden, welcome to the list of book boyfriends that make my expectations too high. I'M IN LOVE.

This book made me feel butterflies the ENTIRE time. Where do I sign to get this kind of love? please tell me.

This book was a fun escape in typical Sariah Wilson fashion - light, funny, and full of chemistry - even better? It was in a fun wedding location. Hawaii! Who wouldn’t want to “visit” there via a book. Having been a wedding photographer for years, I have definitely been witness to nightmare-ish issues that Rachel, the main character, and paid bridesmaid, deals with. Having such a line of work really does need to exist (hopefully it does.😏😉) You’ll enjoy this light read filled with typical Wilson banter and steamy kisses you’ve loved from her other novels.

Bingeable fun Romcom about an owner of a discreet paid bridesmaid business where she finds herself as the maid of honor to what might make or break her reputation forever.

She has a NDA that she insists upon to keep the brides secret safe that they aren’t actually friends, and she has a rule for her employees to never date wedding guests. When the bride plays matchmaker to her and the best man, sexual tension radiates.

If you enjoy forbidden love tropes that are fun. You will enjoy this also.

3.5 stars only due to the story was very similar to something I previously read.

I've waited forever to review this book because I absolutely LOVE Sariah Wilson as a writer, and as a person. She has a wonderful, super-active Facebook group where she interacts with fans, she is doing an amazing job writing more and more books to get out to her readers, all while balancing her family. I have read everything she has written at this point, and although I enjoyed this book in the end, it wasn't my favorite read. I had trouble connecting with Rachel, our main character who is a Bridesmaid for hire (that's on me though, not the writing). Her commitment to work and ignoring the incredible scenery (Hawaii) and people around her drove me a little crazy. It was still a happy ending, and it still was a GREAT ending, and it's still 4 stars! This is a perfect beach read!! I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book for free, all of the opinions are my own!

I don’t know why I waited so long to read this one. It had all my favorite tropes and it’s just the type of rom com I really enjoy. The banter was on point, and I loved their conversations. Yes, at points it was cheesy, but I loved how it made me smile and laugh most of the time. While you don’t get as much character development as a more contemporary romance, this romance still had problems the couple had to overcome. The friendships that formed were also really nice to see. This was my first book by this author, and it won’t be my last.

My Review:

This was my first exposure to Sariah Wilson’s clever wordcraft and I feasted on her enticing characters, amusing and evocative descriptions, and immersive writing style. I marveled at her clever humor and crisp wit while she simultaneously dropped perceptive insights and cunning observations. Her snark was well-honed, whip-smart, and top-shelf, as were her characters’ snappy banter and pithy wordplay. The writing brought sharp and colorful visuals to mind that kept me smirking and pleasurably entertained. The rest of her published listing is now calling my name and has gleefully added to my TBR.

Romance, sweet, contemporary;
Flirty, fun dialogue, secret job, and suspicions; beautiful destination wedding setting, and fun side characters. Rachel and Camden's part in this lovely destination wedding, Rachel's as a paid bridesmaid, and Camden as the Best an and business partner of the groom. All the little moments! The mother's alcoholism, the snafu's, and of course, the moments with Camden intermixed with witty banter between the two, and their sweet, sizzling chemistry made for a perfect, sweet, fun contemporary romance.

Absolutely devoured this book. I love all of Sariah’s books. Loved the spunky herorine and the swoony hero who just wouldn’t give up!

3.5 stars

A enjoyable read with a fun concept. Rachel runs a company that hires out bridesmaids for weddings. Usually only the bride and maybe one or two other people know and she has a rule to not date anyone involved with the weddings she works. That rule becomes hard to follow when she meets Camden, the best man at her most recent job.

I have read and liked a number of books from this author but this one missed the mark for me a bit. There was a lot to like about it, but sometimes I didn't feel the chemistry between Rachel and Camden.

Sarah Wilson delivers the funny in her new rom-com THE PAID BRIDESMAID. When a professional bridesmaid/wedding planner covertly works a destination wedding in Hawaii, she falls for the best man - a suspicious tech mogul - who could compromise her career. Wilson succeeds in writing comedic moments, clever banter, and memorable characters.

Sariah Wilson does it again with a warm, sweet romance that is just trying enough in these trying times. Who doesn't want to read about Hawaii? Or wedding hijinks? Or falling in love?

I loved every bit about this book! Sariah has a way with taking you right with her characters! I always feel like I am part of the action! This book was no different! I loved the plot and the whole smoothness of it all! She knows how to write fun and endearing main characters as well as side characters! She nailed this one, I never know what she will come up with next! Enjoy!

Rachel has a business that rents out bridesmaids. Her latest client is an influencer who is getting married in Hawaii and it's a big event for Rachel - but what happens when the best man leaves her rethinking her rule that she never can never date on she meets while working?

This is an easy read and lots of fun with hugely likeable main characters in Rachel and Camden. Weddings are always entertaining, and put them in a glamorous location and you can hardly fail. If you are looking for a few hours of escapism then this is an ideal book to pick up.

When I read the synopsis for this book, it sounded like it would be fun and interesting, but instead it was a whole lot of drama and angst and neither one of those work for me. While there were parts of this book I adored, there were more than just seemed overdramatic, shallow, and unnecessary so this one was a miss.

By all accounts Rachel Vinson sounds like a smart, savvy businesswoman. After a stint in the corporate world where she wasn’t treated very well, she opens her own company doing a bit of event planning but also as a bridesmaid for hire for those brides whose grooms have more friends than she does, for the brides who don’t want to deal with the drama of people she can’t trust, or like her current bride who is a social media influencer whose only friend betrayed her. I actually enjoyed the friendship that Rachel and the bride, Sadie, seemed to have despite the fact Rachel was hired. They had a genuine bond and I could appreciate that. Rachel has built her business giving other women who have been victimized in some way a job which I loved, yet I just couldn’t connect with her. She was overly rigid at times almost rude to the best man all because she was attracted to him and didn’t want to be because she saw him as a threat to her rules of not hooking up or dating anyone at a wedding they were hired to work. Even more so when she finds out he thinks she might be a spy which honestly was one of those storylines I rolled my eyes at because it was just so ridiculous. Throughout this book the best man, Camden Lewis, who seemed like a great guy pursued her despite her being very frosty at the start, then rude, and then all of a sudden she was in love? Seriously, it was just silly and unbelievable.

What really turned me off is that there wasn’t just one issue with the wedding and reception there were multiple issues and because the bride was an influencer the whole thing was being streamed live which put Rachel’s super secret paid bridesmaid service business at risk. The whole reception debacle was completely over the top and honestly after that I struggled to finish the book.

I believe people who thrive on drama and angst will probably love The Paid Bridesmaid, but for me it was a miss.

Rachel has been hired to be a bridesmaid for an Instagram influencer. The wedding is going to be live streamed so she must make sure everything goes off without a hitch. However, love tends to have a mind of its own. When the best man, Camden, shows up, Rachel realizes she may have met her match.

This is such a cute novel. I love Rachel. She is such a go getter. And she tries so hard to do the right thing….right down to when she does the wrong thing. Then there is Camden. He is electric! When these two get within 10 feet of each other, sparks fly!

This story hit me at just the right time. I needed a funny romance to get me through my work week! This one took me away and planted me right in the middle of Camden and Rachel! A great escape!

Need a cute, romantic comedy…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.

Rachel Vinson is a bridesmaid for hire: part confidante, part wedding planner, and one hundred percent pretend BFF. Discretion guaranteed. Her next gig is a destination wedding—livestreamed and sponsored—for an Instagram influencer. That means a paradise of new contacts, which could be a boon to her already booming business. If Rachel can keep the very handsome and slightly too interested best man at bay, that is.

High-tech entrepreneur Camden Lewis must know: Who is this gorgeous, intelligent, and mysterious woman? Too good to be real. Convinced she’s a corporate spy out to tank his company, Camden’s not letting her out of his sight. But the constant surveillance is also opening his eyes to things about Rachel that he likes. If she’s a spy, she’s certainly the cutest one he’s ever seen.

As the week’s worth of wedding events march along, Rachel and Camden are learning almost everything there is to know about each other. Rachel’s made a career out of always a bridesmaid…but perhaps there’s a chance for her own trip down the aisle? If I you are wanting a great escape this is exactly the book you will want to read. You will be so glad you did – I know I was glad I got to read it. The premise of this book sounded interesting from the very beginning. It was a quick, easy read
