This was such a cute book! I loved the premise--a woman is hired to be a bridesmaid and tries to keep her professional and personal life separate. That's not helped by the very hot best man, who is suspicious of any new people in his life. There was tons of chemistry, I loved the Hawaiian wedding setting, and the secondary characters are a lot of fun. Pick this one up for some escapist fun!
The Paid Bridesmaid was my first Sariah Wilson book, but it's not going to be my last. I adored this book. It was so much fun to read that I didn't want to put it down. I loved the paid bridesmaid falling for the best man she can't tell the truth to thing. Normally lying between couples isn't my thing, but I loved how Rachel tried to tell as much truth as she could and stayed loyal to bride, Sadie. I loved the way Rachel and Camden connected despite it all. The flirting between them was cute! The chemistry was sizzling despite there being absolutely nothing more than kissing on the page. All the wedding events were entertaining and made this book feel like it was flying by. There were even some deeper issues (alcoholism, sexism, social media) woven into the story that could have been super heavy, but somehow the story still managed to stay positive, upbeat and angst free. The Paid Bridesmaid was a great time and it has made me super excited to read Wilson's backlist.
Adorable story of right guy, wrong time. Rachel has her own business as a bridesmaid for rent for those who need more/some bridesmaids to fill out their wedding party. Her number one rule is "don't date anyone you meet at a wedding" so of course she meets an amazing guy while she is a paid bridesmaid.
The give and take tension is enough to make you smile without it being sappy sweet. The characters are pretty believable even though the wedding is over the top for most to imagine. It works, though and the writing style makes it smooth and fun.
Romance is a category I do not usualy read, but I am glad I read this. it made me smile and made me want to pick it up whenever I could as it was a good escape from reality. So glad to find a new author for when I need that kind of escape again. Happy to say that I would give this book 5 stars for enjoyment.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I feel like the idea of bridesmaids for hire definitely happens more than people realize. Especially, if the company that is hired also happens to plan and execute the big day. The Paid Bridesmaid is definitely onto something here. If that kind of company doesn't exist yet, it certainly will after someone reads this book.
I loved the entire premise of The Paid Bridesmaid and adored the characters. They all felt incredibly authentic and charming, and the book had me laughing out loud. It tackled some tougher subjects too including addiction. I loved Rachel's determination and the fact that she began a company purely to help women on one of the most important days of their lives and also to give women jobs who need a second chance.
Highly recommend this one. I can't wait to read more from Sariah!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for providing me with the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle by Montlake and #NetGalley for my honest opinion.
Cute, whimsical, fun. A delightful escape to settle down with for the night, weekend.
The story
Rachel is a professional bridesmaid with a thriving business who employs others to do the service as well. She has some rules about the situation, NDA’s in place that ensure that the fact of the situation isn’t shared and a rule that she and her employees don’t date wedding guests. That’s until she is in Hawaii for Instagram influencer Sadie and tech-whizz Dan’s wedding. Rachel is the maid of honour making sure nothing goes wrong. Camden is Dan’s best man and best friend. Camden senses something isn’t right having never met or heard of Rachel before, but ends up testing Rachel’s rule to the limit.
My thoughts
This is a cute story with lots of wedding week action and lust at play. The story is fast paced and their is a lot of slow attraction taking place amongst the angst of Rachel being able to disclose her position in terms of the NDA. This is the first book of Sariah Wilson’s I have read and can’t wait to read some more! 🥰
