I loved this book. It had me banging my head against the wall, tearing me up, making my heart ache and swooning every which way from Sunday. Travis Maddox, I f*&king love you! And what's even more surprising was the fantastic epilogue....EEEEPPPPPPPPP!!
Seeing the abusive relationship set about in Beautiful Disaster from the abusers point of view is even worse. The biggest problem was that it seemed like a plagiarized version of the first book. No original content unique to this book.
I realized I never gave feedback for this one. I can't in good conscience give this a positive review. Unfortunately I'm not able to separate my reading experience from the author's online persona. She's proven herself to be woefully misinformed on a number of topics and I can't support anything she's written.
I will not be reviewing this book because of the problematic things the author has said. I have also heard that the content in this book can be quite problematic, and that is not something I am interested in reading or giving publicity on my social media platforms.
I read the first few pages of this book and unfortunately, I'm no longer interested in reading this genre. I read Beautiful Disaster in 2013 and liked it! If you want to see more of Travis and his backstory though, I think you'd really enjoy this one!
Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.
Did I love it as much as Beautiful Disaster? Well I can say almost as much and simply because nothing can compare to blindly reading and discovering Beautiful Disaster for the first time. I mean, you know how “Beautiful Disaster” initially affected us, right? Just pure magic. So maybe nothing can 100% compare to that. But yes… this one is quite close and I would absolutely re-read it. I cherish this series even more now.
5 STARS!!!
P.S. I reviewed this on my blog back in 2013 (see the link below for full review)
4.5 stars!
I was so excited to read this book when it was announced as I loved Beautiful Disaster! I wasn't 100% sure about this book though! I have to be honest and say that I was between 4 and 5 stars for it for several reasons! Sometimes it felt to me like this book was brand new and it wasn't the same story as Beautiful Disaster which annoyed me a little as I was expecting it to be more like the first book as I loved the first book! Also some of the scenes that I loved were shortened in this book and I would have loved to have read them fully from Travis point of view! The plot was the exact same as Beautiful Disaster only this time the story is told from Travis's point of view! You could probably read this book first or Beautiful Disaster as they are the same story only different point of views! It was amazing to see the things that Travis did when he was out of the picture in Beautiful Disaster and to see what he did during those times! I loved the plot and it was fun to see the story through Travis's eyes! It was amazing to go into Travis's head as well! I knew that I was going to enjoy it as soon as this book was announced that it was in Travis's point of view and I definitely did! I normally don't read books that are written fully in male point of views but I knew that I was going to read this one as people everywhere fell in love with Travis Maddox after reading Beautiful Disaster! You definitely get to see a softer side to Travis in this book as you get to experience his emotions and see how he really feels beneath the rough impression that he gives off! I loved him even more in this book as you get to really see his feelings for Abby as well! I didn't really connect with Abby as much in this book but this could just be because it was in Travis's point of view! I did miss the connection with her but this book was all about Travis! I also connected with Abby for the majority of the book but not as much as I would have liked too! It was amazing to experience Travis's feelings at certain big scenes in Beautiful Disaster and I loved reading the big scene near the end from Travis's point of view and to see the emotions that he went through during the scene! I also loved the epilogue as it showed how far Travis and Abby had come as a couple and also as a family! I also love the cover! It really suits the cover for Beautiful Disaster! Big thank you to Simon and Schuster and to Netgalley for an ARC of Walking Disaster!
Very sexy read with a really great couple. A nice balance of romance and danger and romantic tension
Unfortunately. I was unable to finish this book and have to put it on my DNR list.
I was unable to connect with the character and therefore unable to get invested in this story.
I hope in the future I might try to revisit this series.
Sorry, could not get to reading this book on time - thank you for the opportunity to review!
I have been on pins & needles waiting for the release date and finally being able to read in Travis’s POV. I tend to enjoy the man’s POV a bit more in books. As I was reading I just couldn’t wait to get to my favorite scenes and know what Travis was thinking… maybe my excitement was just too much because I was a little disappointed, okay a lot disappointed BUT DON”T FREAK OUT because the ending made up for it 100x and turned my 3 star review into a 4 star review.
So as I said, I was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED Beautiful Disaster, it was on my favorite reads of 2012 list but Walking Disaster just felt different. I did not get a chance to reread Beautiful Disaster and I wish I had. W.D. glances over information you would not understand without being familiar with B.D. At times I had to reread scenes or pause to think about B.D. and who that character was or what happened. I didn’t like the fact scenes were skipped and it would jump ahead. I really wanted the scene of when Travis got the pigeon tattoo on his arm for Abby but it was only mentioned. Times when Travis and would go to the bar to drink and bring home two girls to have sex was another scene that was only mentioned and not written out. There were a few others as well I wish I could have read but do not want to say too much and give a spoiler.
With that said there were still good scenes of Travis talking to his father, brothers, and friends about his feelings for Abby I feel fortunate to be able to read them because they were tender moments of Travis. I enjoyed those scenes the most. I didn’t realize how hard he fell for Abby so quickly, it was very sweet. I am not the biggest Travis fan but he sure jumped ahead in the line of my Book Boyfriends after reading W.D.
I don’t want this to sound like a bad review because it’s not. Any reader who loved Beautiful Disaster NEEDS to read Walking Disaster. You will appreciate Travis & Abby’s relationship and the characters even more. Even America, Abby’s best friend I found myself liking a whole lot more and how protective she was of Abby to Travis. I would love a best friend like her.
What I really, really, SUPER TRULY loved about Walking Disaster is the epilogue. OMG ladies, it’s just sweet and perfect… everything I wanted for Abby and Travis. It was perfection!
So while I may not of enjoyed W.D. as much as B.D. it is still a must read for B.D. fans… as I mentioned earlier I suggest rereading B.D. first and get a little refresher on the story to help as you read.
I give Walking Disaster 4 Stars.
I recieved an ARC copy from the publisher in return for an honest review
I couldn't get into this one at all. I know so many have read and loved it, but it really really wasn't for me. There were parts in the book that made me uncomfortable, but being a reviewer, I kept reading to be able to give a full and honest review of the story.
I absolutely loved Beautiful Disaster! And reading Walking Disaster and seeing Travis' point of view honestly felt like I got to read the story I love all over again for the first time.
Sorry for the inconvenience in taking so long for my feedback, but I never finished this book and no longer have access to it.
