Arc received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
One thing about me is that I love historical fiction, and I have a soft spot for Tudor era based stories. Although usually reading something historical that has a bit of modern slang to it turns me off, I really enjoyed it here! It fit well with the entire theme of the graphic novel and it was just a very nice feel good story that was surprisingly actually funny.
With the characters, I don't know if I like Daisy that much (some choices she made were kinda naive and it annoyed me) but she waa a fun character to follow around. Nathaniel the rat was the character I liked best, but Henry VIII's ghost was pretty fun too. I really can't wait until to see more from this series!

ARC Copy...Hmm it did despite the magical elements weaved into the historical elements, it was well done and complete with tightly knotted court-social politics too.

There isn't a good reason as to why, but I was under the impression this was set in modern day England. Even though the description clearly states "Elizabethan England" and I put that blame fully on Daisy's character design overall, the hair and clothing are not fitting for the era at all. Where at least the side characters feel closer to accurate.
This book gave me some Kiki's Delivery Service vibes, but mostly Disney Movie vibes, Especially with a line that says "It's my decision! I'm twelve years old, you can't tell me what to do anymore!" I had a hard time taking it seriously after that to be honest.
Overall it was an decent story though.
