Thought this was a decent mystery. I was surprised at the reveal partway through though there had been information given about it ahead of time to make you wonder. Lizzie's character is somewhat sympathetic but I tended to go back and forth on whether I liked her or not. The rest of the main characters were fairly terrible and I didn't feel too sorry for them. I liked the small town, fall setting.

Thanks to #NoOneWillMissHer #NetGalley. and #WilliamMorrow for the opportunity to read this book and give an honest review.

What a page turner! I read many thrillers a year and I have to say this one is unlike most of them in many good ways. The author writes well and that makes this book stand out. The narrators do a great job of bringing that language to life and keeping my attention without losing me. I will definitely keep this author in my to be read lists if this is any indication on what to expect.

Content rating: [R] for strong language, gore and murder, violence against animals, bullying, and reference to miscarriage.

Quick synopsis:
A smart, witty, crackling novel of psychological suspense in which a girl from a hardscrabble small town meets a gorgeous Instagram influencer from the big city, with a murderous twist that will shock even the most savvy reader.

Review:
This is definitely not your typical thriller which keeps you guessing who did it up until the very end.  In fact, you find out who did it almost at the very beginning of the book.  And while this may seem like it takes some of the mystery out of the book, it offers a really unique perspective from the the mind of the murderer.  And just when you think you know what's going on - BAM! You find out you were totally wrong. This book has all the twists and turns, and plenty of suspense to keep you on your toes!

This is definitely not a book for the faint of heart, it has a lot of strong language and can be quite descriptive at times (maybe a little too descriptive in some cases). In the end, I really enjoyed this fresh and different take on a thriller and it was a perfect read for October!

Thank you to #NetGalley and William Morrow for an audiobook eARC in exchange for an honest review. #NoOneWillMissHer

This book is GOOD, and the narration is totally up to par. From the jump you are in it, as the narrator, Lizzie, tells you she's dead and this is her story.
The people are compelling and the environments are so well constructed that they are really believable. This book actually delivered BIG surprises to me, while still remaining believable with characters that were complex and well developed.
My first time reading Kat Rosenfield, would definitely read her again.

Wow, this book was full of twists, some I expected and many I did not see coming. It was a fast paced psychological thriller about a murder of a local women in a small town. The search is on for her husband as the prime suspect until his car is found with another dead body inside. I don't want to give away too much, but thought this was an entertaining book. I highly recommend.

So much potential…

This started out strong. The writing was really good and I was feeling a lot of sympathy for Lizzy. I was really looking forward to seeing her killer brought to justice. Then the unfortunate twist that turned it all on its head. This could’ve worked if it had been woven differently however it was presented in a way that had absolutely no sense of plausibility… not even a lil bit. At this point my eye-rolling persisted until the non-climactic end.

I have to give great credit to the narrators on this… if I had actually been reading this it probably would’ve been a DNF. They were amazing and I’m sad that their talents were wasted.

Sad to say that this novel just did not live up to its potential. 2.5 stars rounded up for wonderful narration.

No One Will Miss Her is a fast-paced and unique story. It’s also one where the I think the less I say about the plot the better! So I’ll say this, the characters are great, the level of attention to detail is outstanding, and fair warning…it doesn’t shy away from graphic descriptions. The narrators on this one were outstanding too, so I highly recommend the audio!

No One Will Miss Her....but EVERYONE will MISS OUT if they don't grab a copy of this gripping thriller. This is my first Kat Rosenfield novel and it did not disappoint!

Finding a book that actually shocks you is rare, especially when you're an avid reader. No One Will Miss Her was refreshingly done and actually will shock any reader in the best possible way! When you're done you will need to process what you just read and will likely be calling up your book loving friends to tell them to put in on their TBR list asap because this is a book that people will be talking about!

I am not a fan of spoilers, to me they would especially ruin this book. I will say, once you start this one be prepared to block out some time because you will not want to walk away! It was so well done.

Characters:
Lizzie Oullette was trailer trash, she was seen in town but not really if that makes sense.
Dwayne - Lizzie's husband, had a good thing going until he had to marry Lizzie because of her unexpected pregnancy.
Adrienne Richards - everything Lizzie is not...classy, wealthy billionaire, stylish and well known
Ethan - Adrienne's famous husband who had some trouble with the law

Setting: rural Maine (Copper Falls)

MURDER...Lizzie is found dead and this thriller takes you on a roller coaster ride all the way through to the end where you plunge to a halting stop that will have you shaking your head in disbelief.

Bravo, Kat Rosenfield! You have a new fan! 5 STARS

Thank you to NetGalley, William Morrow, and Harper Audio for my ARC audiobook.

I was not completely engrossed with this book as I listened. I enjoyed the story, and appreciated the plot. I do think the book was a little too long for the story told. There are pieces I didn’t think were absolutely necessary and others I think could have been developed better.

This is not a bad book in one of my favorite genres, but it just didn’t grab me like other books.

The story of Lizzie is sad. She's always been the town punching bag. The girl that was always ridiculed and bullied. Nobody would even care if she went missing or was killed. This is Lizzie's thoughts. She knows it, she's lived it. The town even goes as far as saying she ruined her husband's life too. She's the rotten apple that keeps on contaminating everything she touches. So the question is, would anyone even care if she did die? Well that's the immediate opening of the book. Lizzie is dead, her husband is missing and the local junkyard is on fire. For a small town, this is huge news. Local cops are already on the scene, identifying the victim and still making Lizzie out to be the bad person. So much for not speaking I'll of the dead.

This was such an entertaining read. A brilliant murder suspense that you'll think is all figured out, until it's not. I couldn't put this one down. It was so good.

Genuinely adored this novel. I do not usually gravitate towards thrillers, but I am so glad I read this one. Characters were relatable and the story kept me engaged. It kept me curious, but not so nervous I could not sleep.
No One Will Miss Her hit that balance between being character driven and plot driven.
Loved that I read it in the fall as well. Descriptions easily lent themselves to a cinematic adaptation. Audiobook version was excellent.

Thank you NetGalley as and William Morrow for the Advance Listening Copy of this novel.

As I listened to the audio version of No One Will Miss Her, I could easily envision it being made into a movie for television. Don't look for it on the Hallmark Channel though. A movie for the Lifetime Channel is much more likely! With a complicated cast of alternating characters and a story full of shocking twists and turns, it was hard to believe that this was a debut novel. I was also impressed with the narrators who really helped establish the mood of the story. Even my non-reading husband got caught up in listening to it with me. Thanks so much to NetGalley, Book Club Girl and William Morrow Publishing for the advance book to review

No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield is a strong psychological suspense novel. Set in the down and out town of Copper Falls, Maine, Lizzie Ouellette is found dead and disfigured in her cabin by the lake. While most of the townspeople don’t care about Lizzie, the Junkyard Jezebel, they are concerned that her husband, Dwayne, is missing also.
Detective Bird is sent by the state police to participate in the investigation and knows this is going to be a case of trying to crack the small-town wall of silence to find the truth.
The other piece of the puzzle is Adrienne Richards, a Boston resident from a privileged upbringing who is married to Ethan, a wealthy but now shamed corporate crook. They are repeat renters of Lizzie’s cabin, and thus their lives intersect.
No spoilers from me about this gripping story—it was a wild ride from beginning to startling end. I enjoyed the alternating narratives, from City (Adrienne), The Lake (Bird), and Lizzie’s voice from the grave, which I especially liked. Lizzie is down to earth, from an impoverished family and tormented by her peers in high school. But she also has aspirations and is a survivor. She admires Adrienne’s style, and even emulates her.
The novel is atmospheric with great descriptions and some clever writing. Lizzie’s voice was especially wry and entertaining with lots of irony.
This is a well-written thriller that is entertaining, and has enough pathos and twists to be a very satisfying. The audiobook is excellent, with narrators Cassandra Campbell, Sophie Amoss and Chris Andrew Ciulla using their expertise in making these characters come to life.

Thank you to William Morrow and NetGalley for the ARC. This is my honest review.

No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield is perfect 'spooky season' reading. This suspenseful story is best enjoyed with little knowledge about its plot so avoid spoilers!

This novel centers around two couples with very different lifestyles. Lizzie and Dwayne, lifelong residents of Copper Falls, a small Maine town wallowing in economic depression, struggle to make ends meet. Ethan, a disgraced Boston billionaire, and his Instagram influencer wife Adrienne occasionally rent Lizzie's Airbnb-type lake house to escape public scrutiny. When a grisly murder is discovered, Maine State Police Detective Ian Bird investigates the ways the couple's lives are intertwined.

Note: I have a very low tolerance for gruesome details and struggled with the first chapter, but was fine after that.

The audiobook narrators Cassandra Campbell (a personal favorite), Sophie Amos, and Chris Andrew Ciulla are effective in telling this story. Many thanks to Harper Audio and NetGalley for the review copy of the audiobook.

I so enjoyed this psychological thriller. And oh my, what a twist. The story is being told in the voice of a dead girl Lizzie. She is from a run down town, her father owns a junk yard and her husband killed her cat when they were kids. (That part was very hard to get through, just an FYI if animal cruelty makes you livid. I wouldn't not read the book though because of it. Just skip over that part). Another teller of the story is Adrienne. She is a social media influencer. She is married to a criminal but he has money and she loves all the things money can buy. They are two different woman but the one thing they have in common is that they both do not have any friends. They befriend each other when Adrienne stays in Lizzie's house that her Dad gave her. She had set it up as an Airbnb. The author did a great job with these characters because you get very involved with them and their stories. The twist has the WOW factor and keeps you hooked until the end. I did listen and read this book and both the audio and book version were great. I would highly recommend this book even if psychological thrillers are not your thing. It is available for purchase today October 12, 2021.

The book opens with Lizzie Oulette narrating from beyond the grave. Her body has just been found murdered in her home with a piece of her still lodged in the garbage disposal, and her husband Dwayne missing. Detective Ian Bird is brought in to help solve the case and find Dwayne.

I tend to like books that are narrated from beyond the groove so I was hooked from the start. We learn more about Lizzie's background as the story progresses, how the town perceives her as "junkyard jezebel" that ruined Dwayne's future, and how she came to know the famous social media influencer Adrienne Richards and her husband, Ethan. The Richards' have been renting a lake house from Lizzie for extended periods of time for the past couple of years to avoid the fallout from Ethan's scandal.

I won't say too much more about the plot, as it is best to go into this one blind. Aside from Bird, none of the characters are particularly likeable but that didn't bother me as I was more interested in the "whodunnit"?! There is a great twist a little past the midway point of the book.

I listened to this one as an audiobook. I love a good ensemble cast and I thought that the three narrators did an excellent job of bringing Lizzie, Adrienne and Bird's perspectives to life. Even with the shifts in time and multiple POVs the audiobook was still easy to follow.

This is the first book by Kat Rosenfield that I have read, and if she writes another thriller/mystery in the future I'd check it out. Special thanks to NetGalley and Harper Audio for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The one where I figured out the twist.

I think the only really divisive reviews about this one are going to be about the twist. Did you figure it out or were you completely blown away?

Unfortunately I clued into this one and that’s okay because it happens when you’re an avid reader looking for breadcrumbs and I appreciate an author that drops a few hints along the way. I would say she did a good job at hiding them and I’m a good detective.

I love that we have a POV from beyond the grave. How fun is that!?

I really do this most readers will enjoy this small town twisted mystery.

No One Will Miss Her is a haunting and fast paced thriller that really surprised me. It's about a girl who grew up poor in a small town and the story begins with her father's junkyard burning to the ground and her dead body being discovered. It travels back and forward in time to uncover the story from 3 different points of view, and at first I didn't find anyone very likeable, but the second part of the story really drew me in! Kat Rosenfeld's writing is witty and sharp, a quick read but with well developed, complex characters.

The audiobook is really well done, with a different narrator for each point of view and they did a great job of embracing their characters. However, with the way the timeline of this story goes, I found it easier to follow in the ebook, partly because it's such a gripping story that once I started reading the pages just flew by. Overall I thought this was a great thriller and look forward to reading more by Kat Rosenfeld.

What on earth did I just listen to?! I loved this story so much. Lizzie Oullette was a girl who could have been from several small towns--the one people loved to hate because they think they are better than her--and maybe they were. But Lizzie had more to say and a future ahead of her--until she died.

The story surrounding Lizzie's life and death and her interactions with an out-of-town renter, Adrienne Richards, sends on a journey where you don't know the ending. I had an idea about what happened to Lizzie in the beginning and Kat Rosenfield kept me guessing. It was really refreshing to have such a good audiobook after a short hiatus from audiobooks. The narrators were great and I appreciated the variety of voices.

5 out of 5 stars. Thank you NetGalley, Harper Audio and William Morrow to the advance audiobook for review.
