A Kind of fantasy story about a time in the future where aliens and humans live together. Dragon eggs are stolen and the FBI agent has to find them and bring them back.

Someone has stolen dragon eggs and it’s up to Diane Morris to return the eggs before said dragon wakes up and burns the city inhabitants to nothing but ash. Field agent Diane Morris and the agency are the only things protecting the human world from the paranormal world. Her department has no budget and no respect. She’s at her wits end when a gang of enterprising thieves steals a pair of dragon eggs to sell on the black market. Strapped with a partner from hell, a demonic one to boot, she must find the dragon eggs before Mama Dragon wakes up and discovers they’re missing. Diane’s not afraid of wizards, elementals, or gunmen, but one pissed-off dragon? She’s beyond petrified but there’s no stopping Diane because if she fails, the world goes up in flames…

Dragon(e) Baby Gone is an imaginative fantasy adventure I adored from start to finish. The descriptive narration captured my attention from the beginning and didn’t let go until the very last page. Robert Gainey has an impeccable talent for descriptive storytelling, so much so, the reader’s five senses hum. The plot progression is perfectly paced with the right balance of action, dialogue, and character growth. From the beginning to the end, the reader’s imagination is engaged which made for an entertaining reading experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more from Robert Gainey. If you’re an urban fantasy reader, you’ll love Dragon(e) Baby Gone. If you love dragon stories, you’ll want to read this book. Fans of modern-day fantasy stories will love Dragon(e) Baby Gone. Highly recommend!

Not sure why there's "(e)" in the title, but it doesn't impact my review.

The story starts off with Diane right in the middle of an action packed day. That pretty much sums up the whole book, action packed with a variety of supernatural characters, one that were new to me. However, as a rather short book and the first in a series it could definitely use more setup, more on how the Dept. of Intangible Assets is set up and more on all the characters who are going to be a part of the series.

Lately, I’ve been trying some new authors even though I really don’t have time to follow new ones. Well, this one was new-to-me author, and I, yep, it was a good one. This author has a slightly different way to write that took me a little bit to find the rhythm of (and that’s a good thing!), but once I did, oh, my! This was a well-written book that I didn’t want to put down. I loved Diane and “Morty” (he was so fascinating!), and the dynamic they shared was great. This was an action-filled urban fantasy, and I am excited to see what is going to happen next with all the interesting characters. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
