I really enjoyed this story and found I couldn't put it down. This is very much an enemies to lovers story, and I found the journey to be both hilarious and heartwarming. I appreciated reading from both sides so you could see what each was going through as their relationship evolved, and I also really loved the epilogues; something not all authors bless their readers with. Overall a great story with a lovely HEA

Misery Loves Company is a fun, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance. It also has a bit of close proximity that turns these enemies into really sweet friends.

Chase is a NHL hockey player and at the beginning of the story is injured during a game and won’t be able to professionally play again. Georgia recently lost her job, apartment, and fancy lifestyle after her dad’s business (where she also works) gets bought out. Georgia & Chase are both dealing with changes in their life when they find themselves crashing at their best friend’s house — who happen to be married to one another. Georgia & Chase have kind of hated one another for years, they both ruffle the other’s feathers and usually do their best to stay apart. But now crashing at their friend’s home, they find they have a lot more in common. Whether pulling pranks or confiding in each other, they soon find themselves inseparable. But after a month of fun together and becoming emotionally connected, real life calls and Georgia gets offered a job across the country in NY.

This story had a fun enemies-to-lovers concept but quickly turned into a really close friendship, which I do enjoy a friends-to-lovers romance so while I wanted more enemies time, I was still into their growing relationship. This was a really sweet, everything-works-out-perfectly read. I liked that the hero is adopted and contemplated meeting his birth mom. I liked their friendship with Elaine, a 70-something lady they adore & visit. I did wish the enemies part was pulled out a bit longer, but found this to be a quick sweet friendship read.

Thank you to the publisher for an e-ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest thoughts & review. Misery Loves Company will be out July 14, 2021.

One word for the book - fun. I loved the book because it was less dramatic. and somehow the connection between the protagonists was amazing.

A sweet enemy to lover tale! I adored Georgia and Chase's banter and bickering, their slow discovery of their feelings towards one another and what to do about them.

Right off the bat, my curiosity was piqued with the implications in the synopsis including my favorite trope, enemies-to-lovers & another trope I’m partial to, forced proximity.

In its current state, it was kinda cute. I liked SH’s starting concepts in Misery Loves Company. Starting with - 1. beginning with bickering enemies; a cocky player(Chase) & the rich little princess(Georgia) who happen to be lifelong besties with happily married with a baby(whose godparents are said player & princess aka our H & h). - 2. Then when both are down on their luck, their besties stick ‘em in the same house alone for over a month - much to everyone’s surprise (including their own) they become friends instead of killing each other as expected. That’s the gist of the first part - don’t worry the second part is included here too & I’ll leave it at that.

Overall I’m hoping this ARC version receives thorough proofing & some very good editing because I think with that, Misery Loves Company has some real potential, but it definitely needs both. Some of the things I’m hoping for is the pace picks up a little in a few spots so it flows more naturally & when feelings become more than friendly needs a little more clarity to make their budding chemistry a bit more palpable. Personal preference, I’d like more banter(& a bit sharper) & the feisty enemies aspect to last a bit longer, but perhaps not as needed as the other things mentioned.

This is an enemies-to-lovers story. Chase and Georgia do not get along at all at the beginning, and how. Forced to share living spaces due to circumstances, they get to know each other and realise that the image they had of each other is not exactly correct.
Although I felt that the story did not flow smoothly at times, I had a fun time reading it, and it was peppered with surprisingly poignant moments.
