Andie is in love with her brothers best friend, and therefore her long time best friend Wyatt. But she’s considered his little sister, he’s a player, he’s interested in everyone but her.
Wyatt is in love wit( his best friends little sister. He keeps trying to busy himself with others to forget about her, because he was told she was off limits, and even though he loves her, is it worth losing his best friend over?
The chemistry between Andie and Wyatt was so real and palpable. I felt their connection and felt myself cheering for them. Their issues and obstacles were real and relatable. I cannot wait to read bore about the King family.
A quick, sweet friends to lovers romance, this is a small town story about two people who have been in love with each other for years, but never expected the other felt the same way.
There is nothing unexpected about this story, but that isn't a bad thing! Funny and romantic, I enjoyed it as a speedy, ice-cream read!

Have you ever read a book with cozy small romance vibes? No? Then, this one is THE book!
"My Cone and Only" is a romance between Wyatt and Andie and it's the sweetest, most adorable romance in the world 😍 such cozy vibes, even though I'm not usually a fan of the "brother of the best friend" trope, this one got me! It gave me such Kissing Booth vibes I had to read it!
I admit most of the time I am a true blind reader - which leads me to be pretty surprised sometimes, like with My Cone and Only. The bright cover and cute title made me think I was about to read a funny RomCom with delicious ice cream. What I got was a bit intense, more dramatic romance that while wasn’t what I wanted going in, ended up being a quick read I enjoyed. I loved Wyatt and Andie’s best friend’s sister chemistry and mutual pining. Wyatt was such a troubled hero I found that aspect not matching with the book in a sense? But it ended cute and I flew through this book in a day!

“I’d never had these kinds of feelings when I was with a woman before. Mushy, gushy, sappy, feelings. I didn’t just want to jump Andie’s bones– although I absolutely wanted to do that as much as possible. I also wanted to hold her hand and fall asleep spooning with her and just generally gaze at her adoringly all the time.”
What a delightful (and delicious) debut of the King Family series! 🍦 Wyatt King knows better than to flirt & mess around with his best friend’s little sister, even though he’s been in love with her since he was 17. Not knowing that she feels the same, Andie has spent years dreaming about what’d it be like to kiss Wyatt. He’s dated nearly every woman in their small town and she accepted that he’ll never see her in that way.
That is until he helps her fix her grandmother’s house (which she inherited) after it was threatened by real estate developer. The attraction between them is hard to ignore and after an accidental kiss, it’s hard for them to keep their feelings bottled up. Things start to get a lot more complicated between them. Will Wyatt and Andie finally be able to be together? What will happen when her brother/his best friend finds out?
“I want you,” I told her, letting the words set me free. “I’ve always wanted you.”

Adorable brothers best friend romance but also friends to lover. Best kind of combo in my opinion! I loved the chemistry between Wyatt and Andie. Great tension that lead to solid moments of steam AND so many adorable moments in between.

WOWWWWW ❤️ this book was everything!!! Andie and Wyatt have been friends forever, neither knowing they were both secretly pining for each other. There was only one problem, Wyatt is Andie’s brother’s best friend, and he promised to protect her and never ever touch her. What could go wrong?
Let me just start by saying, mutual pining is THE BEST, throw in best friends and you have fire there. Ugh so good. I loved this so much, I loved that Andie wasn’t some secretary who wore heels and skirts all day, she was strong and loved the outdoors and didn’t give a shit what people thought. And Wyatt, suchhhh a hottie, I loved how once they decided they wanted each other, he was open with his feelings and laid it bare for Andie. The one thing that bugged me was that while Andie’s brother Josh was the whole reason Wyatt and her couldn’t be together, he had very little time in this book. I would have liked to have seen more interaction with Josh and Wyatt. But overall this book was amazing, I loved it so much more than I thought I would.
This is a forbidden brothers best friends love story, which I never got why brothers best friends are forbidden, but I guess they are since there are so many books out there. Anywho Andie has had a crush on Wyatt forevah, and thinks that Wyatt has never felt the same considering he has been a manho, little did she know that he has felt the same but has never acted on it. Now that she needs his help and they are spending more and more time together they get to act on those feelings but need to keep it on the down lo, but for how long and you and I know that that will never stay that way.
My Cone and Only is my first experience from Susannah Nix and will not be my last. I loved the friends to lovers trope, the secrecy of their budding romance, the family secrets that are uncovered while renovating her house together, and the grand finale.
It's rare that I love a romance enough to give it 5 stars because usually the drama that tears the couple apart is not great. In this case there wasn't anything I didn't love. Andie and Wyatt were perfection and I cannot wait to read the rest of this 6 book series!
I have recommended this to several people and will continue to do so with anyone who needs a good romance in their life.
"Friends to lovers" fans, you should check this one.
Andie and Wyatt have known each other since ever. They've always been secretly in love with each other, but never thought something could actually happen. The reason? His best friend (her brother). He made Wyatt swear that he would never touch his little sister. That gave her the impression that she wasn't good enough for him, that all the other girls were prettier and more interesting, so she kept her feelings hidden as well.
Many years have passed by and now they have the chance to spend some time alone, away from her brother. Can you guess what's gonna happen? lol.
It was a fun read. It's the first time I read a book by Susannah Nix and I definitely wanna read some more.
I only had a little trouble at times with their chemistry. Since they've always been close, I expected them to have more fluid conversations (deeper and silly ones as well). When a person has been in your life for this long, some things don't even need to be said. I felt like they were calculating their words, the dialogues didn't feel so natural considering their past. I wouldn't feel that way if they had just met, though. Still, it was a good romance and I really wanted to read their happy ending.
* My Cone and Only is book #1 in the King Family series. Each book is a standalone.
* I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars rounded down. I absolutely LOVED this best-friends-older-brother romance following And and Wyatt as their decades long pining comes to a head.
I think the author did a fantastic job of writing their chemistry, backgrounds, and fully fleshing out their development. I was rooting for them the whole time, and their decisions always made sense, even when I didn't like them.
I *flew* through this book. Seriously, I read it ALL in one sitting which is something I can rarely say. The entire read took me about 2.5 hours. The plot, while pretty formulaic, was engaging and well written. I do wish we could've seen more conflict with the brother, as it was bit frustrating how it ended up all being for practically nothing, but I do understand the artistic choice behind what ended up happening.
Overall this was a great binge, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick beach read.
This was a *sweet* summer read!! I've read a few of Susannah Nix's novels, and I was so excited to start a new series! The books in this series can all be read as standalones, so that's awesome!
Small-town romance, off-limits relationship, cute flashbacks, and working in close proximity! This book has it all! It was presented with little conflict, so don't expect anything too dramatic. I thought it was a perfect read featuring so many fun tropes.
A charming book that is clearly a setup for more in a series. Familiar romantic tropes make it feel like an old friend. And the main characters are old friends. Wyatt and Andie don't dance around each other too long. There isn't much of a development to them getting together, and when they do it is HOT. The flashbacks to when they were teens are cute, and you can see why they are together. There isn't much of a conflict, and everything wraps up pretty quickly as well. This one definitely seems like a book that is building up to more.
"You're more than just my family. You're my home."

The synopsis of this book alone was enough to catch my attention, but I was so glad that it delivered more than what I expected. This cute yet steamy novel is such a delight, and I was really surprised that I found myself devouring it quickly. My Cone and Only is a small-town romance that features a lot of romance tropes, such as the brother's best friend, secret dating, and long mutual pining that may seem a tad cliche, but somewhat works really well for the story.
I'm such a sucker for any small town setting, especially if it features a really tight knit group of characters. Not only did this book focused on Andie and Wyatt's relationship, but it also shine a light to the many different relationships the main characters have with other people. It has a lot of family-esque dynamics that caters to any readers' enjoyment, and everything was really well thought of. Aside from that, the friendships within this book had a really major impact into the story, and it was fun to see it being explored in all angles.
Andie and Wyatt are adorable as hell, especially because they are so opposites from each other, but the long-term secret pining for each other has always been there. They complimented each other nicely, and it was such a ride to see them finally get what they wanted from each other. The romance was definitely sexy and amusing, but there were also very soft and vulnerable moments - especially for Wyatt's end - that balanced it. The only thing I had a problem with was that as much as I love Andie and Wyatt, I couldn't exactly connect with them in a very deep level, which I couldn't really exactly explain why. But nevertheless, I still find them cute and hella romantic.
Now I'm curious as to how the single members of the King Family will have their stories told.
I'm sure any small-town romance fans will love this book as much as I did, hence I still highly recommend this.
Holy cow did I finish this book at lightening speed! I could not get enough of the long forbidden love of Andie and Wyatt. It was so steamy I caught myself looking around to make sure no one saw me blushing! Thank you to NetGalley and Haver Street Press for a copy of this book for an honest review.
Wyatt and Josh have been best friends for the longest time. Wyatt has always known that Josh's younger sister, Andie, is off-limits, having made a promise to Josh to always keep a brotherly eye out for her. But with both Andie and Wyatt harboring secret crushes on each other, can they manage to be together and convince Josh that they're meant to be?
You guys.....I devoured this book. It was fun, fresh and steamy. If you like your romances clean, this really ain't your book! 😂 And the best part? It is the first of a series. I already can't wait to read the next installment!

This was a hilarious read worth reading. The hero and heroine were such a cute couple together and I had fun reading the whole story. I loved the push and pull of the relationship. I enjoyed how their love built up and progressed from the secrecy of a relationship to being completely in love with the other person. All the small details and events were so much fun to read about. All the characters, even the side characters seemed fully created. I cannot wait for the next book.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is for you if you love:
🍦kick-butt main female characters
🍦friends to lovers trope
🍦super sweet musical love interest
🍦brothers best friend trope
🍦small town setting
Andie and Wyatt have known each other for as long as they can remember. Both pretend to be “just friends” even though they secretly harbor feelings for each other. Wyatt’s family is rife with drama and, try as he might, he gets sucked in when Andie needs help with her HOA. As they work closely together fixing up her house, they cave into their mutual attraction and the fallout that comes afterwards.
I adore Andie with her random trivia knowledge and sassy attitude. My favorite quote from her is “Fool me once, fu$! you forever.” Wyatt is a big teddy bear with a dirty mouth and I’m here for that! I love the title of the book and the play on “my one and only”. The book introduces several other members of the King family and I can’t wait to read their stories!

My Cone and Only was a fun, light rom-com that featured some of my favorite themes - a friends to lovers romance, a small town setting, and a big dysfunctional family.
Wyatt and Andie are great characters that you can't help but love. I'll be honest, when the book started, I wasn't sure I'd be able to say that about Wyatt, but he ultimately won me over. The snark and banter between Wyatt and Andie made the book for me. Their story is sweet and so much fun to read.
There were a lot of side characters in this book along with some family drama that wasn't truly necessary to THIS story, but this is the first of a multi book series, so a bit of "world building" and character introduction is expected in order to set up future books.
All in all, this was a great summer read, and I'm looking forward to more of the King family in future installments.

This book sounded so cute from the synopsis and the cover is adorable, but unfortunately I did not enjoy this book.
My biggest issue with this book was how one moment the writer was saying something—almost trying to prove how feminist they were—and then the next moment we were in the head of our male lead interest, his actions and thoughts very not feminist.
I just did not find myself liking the romance at all because I could not like the male lead. I am usually okay with the brother’s best friend romance trope, but this one was overdone and really badly written—the storyline becoming very sexist and making a lot of the male characters really un-redeemable. In the end, I thought the idea of this book was cute, but the execution of it was not great.
Thanks for reading!
