I must say, I'm a sucker for friends to lovers romances, so I had high hopes for this book, but sadly felt let down. We expect hurdles in our romance novels, but with this one it seemed as though Wyatt was the main hurdle and just wanted to shake some sense into him. I didn't really like him at all at any stage in the book so wasn't rooting for him to get together with Andie, rather I was hoping she'd see sense and fall for someone else who wasn't a jerk and a womaniser. I also didn't like how long and explicit the sex scenes were as it felt as though the author was using them as a crutch. It's an ok read but it hasn't made me want to read more in the series
I adore Susannah Nix's romance! They're always clever and steamy! Wyatt is my favorite type of hero--he's been major pining for Andie for forever, and she's the exact same for him. Mutual pining is one of my favorite tropes in romance. Overall, I LOVED the first book in Nix's new series and I can't wait to read the ones to come!
They’ve had a thing for each other since high school, but a promise notorious womanizer Wyatt made to Andie’s brother to always protect her has been keeping them apart. Could he break his best friends trust, even for something as good as what he and Andie could have?
This open door romance is the first in an upcoming series by Susannah Nix about the King family and their ice cream empire. While Wyatt isn’t involved in the family business, we are introduced to many of the other characters that will star in their own novels soon!
I’m a sucker for the sibling’s best friend romance. There were some sweet moments, but parts of it felt just like setup for a new book and not entirely necessary for the one I was reading. For that reason, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to, and I found that the story dragged for me in the middle.
Overall, this was a fun novel, but I expected a little more than I got.
My cone and only by Susannah Nix is the perfect lighthearted read for the summer.
Small town romance with two likeable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with along the way and some steamy moments when I could feel all the chemistry between Wyatt and Andie.
Not wanting to lose her inheritance, aka a beautiful old house that belonged to her grandmother, Andie has to ask for help and who can help better than her brother’s best friend Wyatt. He has to grow quite a lot throughout the story, but it was nice to be part of his arc development and he’s definitely not what the eye can meet.
The story packs much more than just a normal small town romance; it touches topics like family dynamics and lifetime friendships as well as some heartbreaking moments, but all come together in the end for a well deserved happily ever after.
A must read romance from a must read author.
This is a fun book with a light cute love story, but honestly, I didn't love it. I think it was pretty cliche, so there was nothing new or original. Yet it's still enjoyable. If you're looking for a fun and light romance book, you might love this one.
The writing is very good and easy to read. The characters are well written with the right amount of depth and great world-building. But I can't say I care much about the main characters. Andie was more likeable but still quite annoying, and I really didn't like Wyatt. However, I really liked the change Wyatt had. I can't say I liked him by the end either, but I liked the change.
Also, I understand that this is a romance book, and it makes sense that romance is the main thing (obviously), and it was very well-written. But it would've been nice to see a bit more of other stuff about their lives. Yes, we have Wyatt's music but nothing about Andie.
Still, I know many people will absolutely love this book, but it just wasn't that great for me. However, I'd love to read Tanner's book. I already like him way more than Wyatt, and I really want to see what happened to him.
Wyatt has been in love with Andie for years, but she is his best friend's sister, so she is forbidden.
Andie has been in love with Wyatt for years, but he is her brother's best friend and only seems to see her as a sister.
With more time together and an accidental kiss, the truth comes out and Sparks fly, but their love is still forbidden ❤️🌶️🍦
This book was so much fun! An absolute must read for any fans of Tessa Bailey!! The story was really cute, and insanely spicy 🥵🔥🌶️ I loved it and absolutely cannot wait to read Cream and Punishment when it comes out! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you @netgalley and @haverstreetpress for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! ❤️
This was my first Susannah Nix read and I really enjoyed it.
An amazing blend of romcom, friends-to-lovers, best friend's sister, and forbidden love come together in one steamy read!
Wyatt and Andie have so much chemistry together you could feel it coming off the pages.
I enjoyed reading about how they've always been in love with each other but not telling one another until they do and realize what they've been missing out on. But I did kind of want to smack some sense into Wyatt for not wanting to go public. I hurt for Andie. The ending is worth it though.
I'll have to go back and read Ms. Nix's backlog of books now because I loved her storytelling ways.
A small town romance and secret romance written by Susannah Nix? Sign me up! Wyatt and Andie were delightful characters who have been fighting their feelings for each other unbeknownst to each other for several years. A huge fan of Nix's previous books, this did not disappoint!
As sweet as ice cream!
This book was tons of fun! I loved the story, loved how ice cream was a prominent object throughout, and the love the characters felt for each other. I loved the whole "I've been in love with you since forever ago" trope, it's just so whole0hearted. Plus, the fact that they tried to make each other jealous was just tons of fun to read about.
Also, can we talk about the spice? Because that steam was fantastic, I wanted so much more but the amount we got was so juicy! This is definitely not closed door, my friends.
I am dying to read Tanner and Lucy's story, who doesn't love a good second chance romance?? I'm SO ready! January 18 couldn't come soon enough!!
I definitely recommend this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Haver Street Press for the earc in return for an honest review.
This is the first book in the King Family series (they own King's Creamery, hence the ice cream reference) and you're going to want to read this one if you like steamy, small-town romances and the best friend's little sister/friends to lovers trope.
My Cone and Only is told from both Andie and Wyatt's perspectives. They've had feelings for each other forever, but Wyatt, who's never had a long-term relationship, promised Andie's brother he wouldn't make a move. However, when they realise their feelings are reciprocated, things heat up quickly 🔥. While they keep their relationship secret for a while, it gets complicated when the truth is revealed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

First, a steamy FYI: this book features a couple of open-door scenes and some steam in between, if that's not your thing. Now, onto the book! I easily finished it in 24 hours - I was hooked. I really liked Andie and Wyatt - you could tell they adored each other and they were both so supportive.
They were also quite different (but I'm always here for some opposites attract action) - Andie is a tough woman working in STEM who seldom cries, while Wyatt is a handyman who's secretly been writing love songs about Andie, but he's too nervous to show them to his band. There are some fun side characters included in the book and I'm already looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them and this series.

I love this book. At the beginning Wyatt King is your typical womanizer that drinks to much and won't "grow up". As the story progresses he gets more depth and and comfortable with what he is passionate about. Andie Lockhart is who she is and doesn't care what you think. For her character I felt it was told rather than shown that she was a bad bitch and quick with retorts but she can definitely hold her own. I was rooting for them to get together and seeing them together when dancing or even chatting with forbidden love vibe they had going on was chefs kiss.
Absolutely loved this book! I couldn't get enough.
My Cone and Only was a beautiful friends to lovers romance. I'm new to this author, and she made quite an impression on me. I fell in love with her writing as My Cone and Only was such a treat to read. Andie Lockhart is Wyatts best friend's sister, and is strictly off limits. It kills Wyatt to see Andie and not have feelings for her. But are the feelings mutual? Wyatt King is the perfect book boyfriend, and you will fall for him too. This book made me laugh out loud and I couldn’t put this down. This was a stand out book as it gave me all the feels. I highly recommend My Cone and Only, and look forward to reading more by this author.
Thank you to Susannah and Haver Street Press for the gifted review copy! My Cone and Only was such a quick and fun read, and it's the start of a new contemporary romance series featuring the King Family!
What I loved:
-A Family empire built on ICE CREAM
-A mix of tropes: Friends to Lovers, Best Friend/Younger Sibling
-Great Chemistry
-The Dancing!!
-Alternating POVs
-Fixer Upper, HGTV vibes
If you're looking to start a new rom-com series, I highly recommend giving this one a shot! Wyatt and Andie's story was passionate, tense, and I can't wait to read about Tanner and Lucy's next!
This novel was such a surprise, I requested the arc because I thought that will be a light read and it was. I didn't have expectations because was my first Susannah's book and I enjoyed it so much.
We need to talk about Wyatt and Andie, I loved them together and individually, they were so real. I was eating ice cream while I was reading this book and I choked on a mouthful of ice cream when they danced. That scene was amazing, one of my favorite scenes for sure.
I love when both characters have pov in the book because that is how I get to know and understand them. Honestly, the development of Wyatt was well written. How I got the idea that he was just a womanizer, but then I read him and I was speechless, he was feeling so lonely, broken and was such a good man. He took bad decisions, but he was good.
If we talk about Andie I will just say that I love independent, strong, and brilliant heroines. That is how she is. I enjoyed their moments as friends, but I loved them as a couple.
I had my issues with Wyatt and Josh promise, I wanted to punch them on their noses. I just can't handle promises like that on books, I know promises are important, but I was losing my mind.
I'm looking forward to reading about all the king siblings and I got an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley.
After being introduced to Wyatt and Andie in Elementary Romantic Calculus I was super excited to read their story. I knew it would be amazing and it was!
Wyatt is part of the King family who has an ice cream empire! That would have been a dream come true for younger Jen. I mean all the ice cream you can eat?? Sign me up! Only he doesn't like ice cream. And he has some issues with his family and things that have happened. So he pretends like nothing affects him and he is a huge ladies man. Flirts with everyone except his good friend Andie. Even though he has been secretly in love with her for a long time he knows nothing can ever come of it. So he tries to pretend like everything is fine and he cares about nothing.
Andie has loved Wyatt for as long as she can remember. Only she knows he doesn't feel the same way about her. He has never once flirted with her and well...she collects those little moments when they are together (like when they are dancing! Phew!!) as just friends. These two were so cute together! I loved them so much! Yes, Wyatt has issues and that causes issues at times, but oh it was fun. I really loved watching these two figure everything out. They were super hot together, but also had so much fun! And fun to read! Oh, and if you have read Elementary Romantic Calculus you get a bit more of Josh and Mia! Win win win!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book. I loved this story!
It is sad and painful to watch Wyatt and Andie not be together in the beginning of their book (and also in the preceding novel Elementary Romantic Calculus which focuses on Andie's brother Josh and his girlfriend Mia). Once they do cross that line from friends into something more though? Heaven! They are just so good together and so good for one another. Unfortunately, things come between them. Mainly Andie's insistence that Wyatt has to publicly declare his love for her before she'll believe that he means it, and Wyatt's refusal to do so because he doesn't want to upset Josh. Lots of antics ensue, mostly good, then some bad; but ultimately, however, they are able to work out everything so they can have their much-delayed and much-deserved happily ever after. This is the first of a new book series about six adult siblings in a rather dysfunctional family, all of which I am looking forward to reading.
Thank you to the Publishing company and NetGalley for a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
It's here! MY CONE AND ONLY, a steamy brother's best friend romance, is OUT NOW!
🍦 Mutual pining
🍦 Forbidden love/secret dating
🍦 Small town/big family
🍦 A hero who writes love songs about his crush
This book is a pretty quick read. It was really easy to dive into the story, the characters are wildly attracted to one another. I thought the plot was okay. I thought that the family drama was a little too much for my liking. I didn't like Wyatt too much. I thought he was kind of stupid for treating his family so horribly because they were wealthy. I thought that the family drama was too present, like for example in the early chapters the story went right into a bunch of family drama and it was excessive where I skimmed past it because it seemed unnecessary. There were like 30 characters that all of a sudden entered the plot and I felt like it was to strayed from the plot.
🍦Thanks @netgalley for this ARC!
THIS BOOK!! I loved everything about this book. Andie is funny, strong, relatable and sassy. Wyatt is charming, sexy, swoon worthy and just oh so great. I loved their chemistry and can't wait for the rest of the series because I loved getting a glimpse at all the King family members. Definitely recommend this book!
Don’t let this title fool you! This sweet book is also incredibly spicy! We’ve got forbidden love/ secret romance, and mutual pining! And super I love the small town, HUGE family vibe.
Wyatt is one of the younger sons of the founder of King Creamery. He wants nothing to do with the company, and wants to pave his own way. While the rest of the family works for the business, Wyatt makes a living as a part time handy man, and as a member in a local cover band. But he’s got some hidden talents (and a hidden love) he hasn’t found the courage to tell anyone about yet…
Andie is Josh’s little sister (who also happens to be Wyatt’s best friend). She’s been pining after Wyatt since she can remember. She works for the local state park, testing samples and making sure the area and wildlife are healthy. She’s strong, confident, and sweet.
Wyatt made a promise to Josh ten years ago that he would help look out for Andie (and keep his hands off of her), but when Andie is in trouble with her HOA, Wyatt steps in to help her fix up her house. Sparks fly, the truth comes to light, and the start up a secret relationship.
This book was so good! Exactly what I needed right now! My only complaint is the grand gesture at the end (only because they make me cringe, and I get embarrassed for the characters 😂 a personal preference). But it was perfect for these two! Totally recommend if you’re looking for a sweet and spicy romcom!
Thank you Haver Street Press and NetGalley for this eARC!
