Once again Lisa Regan knocks it out of the park. Holy crap. This book is a great thrill ride, it will leave you guessing until the very end.
Detective Josie Quinn is certainly thrown in at the deep end when she returns from compassionate leave. 5 children killed in a tragic school bus accident and their parents are trying to come to terms with this, attending a local support group. A second mother is found murdered and Josie and Team have their work cut out to determine who and why. This ties closely with Josie's loss of her grandmother and there are a lot of "if onlys" with which to cope. Well written and engaging. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
It started from where the book 11 of the series ended , hush little girl. There were new characters added to this story. The way PD and Josie have solved the mystery through thorough investigation by putting together all the clues is so good. Josie Quinn's character development is noticeable. It is a good read , and mystery thriller fans may enjoy the book.
Her Deadly Touch by Lisa Regan did not disappoint. I have been following Josie Quinns story since the very beginning and I look forward to upcoming books. A bus crash killed 5 children and now the parents of these kids are being killed off. Who has a secret to hide? Who is killing these parents?
I don’t know how an author can write books so often and have them be so good to read, but Lisa Reagan has found the way. This Josie Quinn mystery is just as wonderful as the first one I read. I can also say her stand alone books are just as good. Anyone looking for a good read, look for Lisa Reagan.
Everyone plays the "what if" game. Around and around. There is no winner.
Josie is back. She is still dealing with her grandmother's death and playing the what if game. What if her grandmother wasn't in the woods. What if her grandmother went back to her room. On her first day back to work, Josie finds the dead body of Krystal Duncan, the mother of one of the five children killed in a bus crash two years ago. Soon secrets are revealed and the what if game begins.
This book was emotional, fast paced, detailed and totally gripping! It will constantly keep you guessing right until the very end. The tensions mounts with each page too, leading up to one great climax! It made for one fantastic addition to the series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for a copy of "Her Deadly Touch" in exchange of an honest review.
Another great book by this author
Love this series
Five children where killed in a bus crash
The parents join a support club
But one by one they are being killed off
Someone is out for revenge
Can Josie and her team catch the killer
Brilliant
Thanks NetGalley
Another great book featuring Josie and Noah. So many different twists and turns and possible suspects. You are definitely left hanging to find out the culprit.
Josie is back in another well-paced thriller/police-procedural mystery. Returning to work after extended leave following her grandmother's murder, Josie's first case is a challenging one that involves multiple persons of interest and potential next victims. I admit I had a bit of trouble keeping track of all the characters (dead and alive) at first - there are a lot of them - however they soon sort out, so it was worth it. As the investigation proceeds, an intricate web of secrets emerges - all centered around the events leading up to a fatal school bus crash two years prior. Unexpected plot twists and dead bodies pop up around each corner, making for a suspense-filled read.
This author never disappoints. In fact she just keeps on getting better with every book. This book was a masterclass in plotting, packed with twists, heart-racingly suspenseful. Just wow. If you don't read this author and her wonderful books you're missing out.
Josie is getting back to her job as a Detective after a major trauma. She is hoping that the reintroduction will be slow and steady rather than being thrust in. On a personal visit to the cemetery she did not expect to find a woman sitting by a gravestone seemingly just sitting there but in reality murdered and brought there.
The victim has been someone who faced tragedy along with a few other parents. Five children died in a school bus crash in the little town where Josie lives and life has never been the same for any of them. Marriages have crumbled, lives destroyed and the parents just exist day to day. The search for justice has to go on and when more victims pile up Josie and her team realise that though the common factor is the bus crash, there is much more beneath the simmering anger and resentment and there are many victims here and many suspects.
Typical to this author the book is a suspense laden, page turning read. The deductions and procedures followed meticulous and the investigations
extremely good.
This is my absolute favorite series right now! The books keep coming and I can't wait for the next one each time. They just keep getting better and I absolutely love them. A tale of murder, suspense, mystery and grief that you just can't put down.
Another spectacular installment in the Josie Quinn series! Josie is still dealing with grief and guilt from the loss of her beloved grandmother in the previous book. The Grief and guilt are compounded by the fact that her first case back involves a murder. Two years ago there was a Dudley school bus crash that Killed six students and sent the bus driver to jail. Now it appears as though somebody is targeting the parents of these children. Why is somebody bringing even more grief into these family’s lives, what could the possible motivation be? Once again Josie and team are on the case. Josie was definitely struggling and it was nice to see everyone around her prop her up especially Noah.As in all Josie Quinn books I loved donning my detective hat and trying to puzzle the mystery together. This series is 12 books strong and keeps bedding better, can’t wait to see what’s next!
*** Big thank you to Bookouture for my gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own. ***
Book #12 in the Josie Quinn Series!
This is one of my favorite book series and I will keep reading these books until Lisa stops written them!
However, I must admit this one wasn’t my favorite. It was really good, don’t get me wrong. There was plenty of action as Denton was dealing with multiple killings and missing persons.
I think what I missed from this book was just a bit more character development. For example, between Noah and Josie or even Amber and Mett. To be fair though, I think we didn’t get this type of character development just because this was Josie’s time to develop. Especially since the tragic ending of the last book, Josie has lots of work to do on herself.
Back to the story, it was a basic police procedural. Josie and her team will stop at nothing to stop the killer. There were numerous twists, several secrets uncovered, and many misdirections. I truly didn’t expect the ending!
I’m already looking forward to reading the next installment! Maybe Josie and Noah will have babies!?
Her Deadly Touch is the 12th installment of the Josie Quinn mystery series. For those of you that have been following this series, it is perhaps the most vulnerable that we have seen our heroine. Josie is still traumatized by her grandmother's death. Now she's investigating the murder of a grieving mother. Her Deadly Touch can be read as a standalone as Regan gives sufficient background into the last case and Josie's backstory for new readers to pick it up easily. As usual, Regan doles out healthy portions of intrigue to keep new and old fans alike riveted to their seats. Her Deadly Touch was fast-paced, fun read. I cannot wait for the next in the series.
BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'Her Deadly Touch' by Lisa Regan.
Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Lisa Regan, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous
Publication date 12th August 2021.
This is the first book I have read by this author. It is the twelfth book in the 'Detective Josie Quinn' series. It can be read as a standalone.
I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful cover and intriguing sounding synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine'. I am a huge fan of Angela Marsons so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).
This novel consists of 46 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This book is based in Pensylvannia, USA 🇺🇸
This book is written in third person perspective and the main protagonist is Detective Josie Quinn. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.
Lisa here have you been all my life?? I can't believe I've never read any of your amazing books before!!!! Well I won't be making that mistake again!!!
When I decided to read this book I could have sworn that I had already read books by Lisa before now and was shocked that it turned out this would be the first. I'm even more shocked now that I've read it to discover I've never picked up her books before especially if any of them are half as good as this one!!!
This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions that captivates the readers attention and places them right in the centre of the action. The cover and synopsis suited the storyline perfectly.
The storyline was absolutely nerveracking and heart racing and kept me consistently on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and turning the pages until I finished it in one sitting. The plot is unique and I really related to Jose's 'What If'? Questions, regrets and worries as I am sure many readers will. How many times has something happened and you have gone back and thought the difference in your life if you'd done something different. What if I did it this way? What if I had said that? Lisa has taken an everyday question and made an absolutely fantastic story with it that is filled with drama, murder, tension, red herrings, suspense, tears, secrets and I could go on. This book has everything and more that you want in a crime thriller. It is unique and realistic as well as being fast paced. There was constantly something happening and it left me questioning myself throughout the book. I never did guess who was involved so a huge congratulations Lisa!!! It is getting harder and harder to surprise me but you had me hook, line and sinker!!! The book ended perfectly and I cannot wait to get my hands on all previous and future books of yours!!! Although this is the twelfth book in the series I had absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.
It is always worrying when starting a new series as you have no idea who the characters are. It is very important for me to bond with not only the lead protagonists but strangely I find it important that I like the pathologist too. I had absolutely nothing to worry about in this case. I absolutely love Josie's down to earth personality. Josie has suffered a horrific loss and instead of being the type or person to let it either overwhelm her or the type who completely gets on with life and forgets she is in the middle. I am looking forward to reading previous books and finding more out about Josie and Lisette's relationship and bond although I'm sure it will lead to tears. Not only is Josie a strong female lead but Gretchen is also a fantastic female model and I love the bond between the two women. They make an absolutely fantastic team and the dynamic between not only Josie and Gretchen is spot on but also with them and Noah, Mettner, Amber and Chief Chitwood. I am looking forward to meeting this team many more times!!
Congratulations Lisa Regan on an absolutely fantastic novel and welcome to my top 10 crime author list!!! Looking forward to the next episode in this amazing series.
Overall a heart racing, page turning, addictive and unputdownable fast paced crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Genres covered in this book include Crime Fiction, Police Procedural, Mystery and Crime Thriller amongst others.
I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Angela Marsons, Carol Wyer, P.J Tracy and any fans of page turning crime series.
281 pages.
This book is just £2.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Wow. This book was incredible from the moment Josie Quinn hit the page while at an appointment with her shrink. She’s dealing with the loss of her grandmother and the woman who raised her and trying to come to grips with the “only ifs”. But the past can’t be rewritten, and that seems to be a wish that the people at the root of her investigation would hope for as well.
The community is small when five children are killed in a deadly bus crash—and all from the same area of Denton. When the mother of one those children turns up dead, the mystery is just getting started. Regan did an excellent job of unraveling each clue and then bringing everything together. There were twists and turns, and the motive for the murders—yep, more than one (but that’s in the blurb so no spoiler here!)—will leave you surprised.
The way that Regan handled the emotional aspects of Josie Quinn, while she’s working the job and processing her grief, was done incredibly, very balanced, and believable. Her grief NEVER weighed down the story but only added to and complemented it.
I highly recommend this entertaining read if you’re looking for a crime novel that will have you absorbed. Just a warning, if you’re reading in print, your thumb might get a blister from all the fast succession of turning pages. Thank you to Bookouture, NetGalley, and the author for the advanced reading copy.
Her Deadly Touch picks up where Hush Little Girl left off, and Josie is grieving after a significant trauma in her personal life. Josie comes across a body that leads to a group of grieving parents who lost their children in a devastating bus crash. Another body is found dead, and it’s looking like someone connected to the bus crash is out for revenge. Josie starts to investigate the parents of the crash, and secrets begin to come out about what happened on the day of the bus crash.
Lisa Regan throws a lot at Josie, and we see so many different sides to Josie because of that. That can get a little tiring and old after a while, but with Josie, she grows more with everything thrown at her, keeping her character from feeling tired as another side of her is fleshed out. But Josie doesn’t do it alone; she continues to be surrounded by people who love and support her, and that is the heart of the series for me.
I loved how Lisa Regan weaves in Josie’s, the parent’s, and her personal grief and creates a heart-wrenching realistic exploration of grief while creating a mystery with plenty of twists and turns that kept me on my toes.
I read this one with my reading buddies Debra and DeAnn and after 12 books, this series is still going strong for all of us!! I am amazed with each one, I love Josie even more!!
OMG. This was so hard to get through. Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t the story about the aftermath of a deadly bus accident were five kids died and every involved parent had a secret. It wasn’t the “If only” game. But I felt so bad for Josie! To see her fighting for some normalcy in her life, after the death of her grandmother Lisette, was really devastating. Love this series!
Every book in the Josie Quinn series is so original and different but yet the story keeps going book to book. I don't know how Lisa Regan does it! She has once again had me captivated from the very first pages . Josie is back mourning the loss of her Grandma Lisette while trying to find a killer . By book #12 you feel the characters are family and this book is no different you feel the pain Josie is going thru as if it was your own Grandma who passed. Heartbreaking at times but also just enough suspense to keep you reading into the night. I will keep on reading this series as long as Lisa Regan keeps writing it. Another 5 star book in this great series!
