“If Only” Lisa Regan didn’t write such thrilling books!?!? Her Deadly Touch is the twelfth book in the Detective Josie Quinn Series. Regan just gets better and better with each book she writes. This story will take on a ride with so many twist and turns you will be dizzy when you get off! Five high school students board their bus for home but never make it! A horrific accident claims the lives of four of them leaving a student and the driver as the only survivors. This terrible tragedy not only affects the parents and families but the whole town. The brilliant storyline is loaded with grief, secrets, drama, mystery and revenge. The characters are very well developed and engaging. Regan will keep you guessing until the very explosive ending! You can feel the pain in this one and don’t be surprised if you shed a tear. I highly recommend this book, Regan has a way of pulling you into her stories! She will not disappoint!
My thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Lisa Regan for an advance copy of this emotional story in exchange for my unbiased review.

SUPERB police thriller series which are all well written with terrific story lines along with an abundance of intrigue & suspense. Lisa has become one of my favorite authors. Totally enjoyable & RECOMMEND all highly. Thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for this ARC in return for my honest review.
12 books in and I am really enjoying watching Josie develop and grow. While focused on a series of gruesome murders, this installment also saw some solid growth in Josie as she grappled with her grandmother's death. I liked how her internal struggle mirrored the case. This made for a nice rich read. I did not like an assumption that was made during the course of the investigation. I am not sure why detectives would think that someone writing on an arm would have the same handwriting as if they were writing on a piece of paper. That made no sense but was only a minor miss in on otherwise spot on story. The only thing I think that would make this series better is a broader look at characters. I still don't feel like I know many of the others who play prominent roles in Josie's life. I think that could add a lot more to the overall series.

Crime, mystery, drama, suspense, loss, grief and... Noah Farley 😍
Lisa did it again! Her Deadly Touch is an absolute thrill and I didnt want to put it down once I started! Lisa has a way of sucking you right into the story with her writing style!
We see Josie at quite possibly her most vulnerable and its gripping! She has to deal with real life trauma and grief and try to find her way back to "normal" and fitting back into her role as a detective at a very demanding and grueling job after taking 4 months leave after a personal and devastating loss.
I love the talk around mental health and dealing with these emotions and feelings and NOT playing the "What If" game.
This book had me trying to put the clues together before the Denton PD but I have to say... Josie, Noah and the PD team beat me to it! I definitely didnt see it coming! 😅
I cant wait to see what's in store for Josie and Noah, and the Denton PD, in book 13!
If you love crime shows like Blue Bloods, CSI, or Law & Order and enjoy a good binge, check out the Detective Josie Quinn series!
#bookrec - 👍👍 Yes! Read this book!
I decided to pick up up book 12 in the Josie Quinn series even though I only read book 10 in the series. I might have found an author I need to go back and start the series from the beginning.
Lisa Regan weaves a tale of sorrow, murder, suspense that mystery loves will not be able to put down. The story moves at a slow pace at first but soon picks up quickly engaging the readers until every last detail is read.
Thank you to Netgalley for a advance copy of Lisa Regan Her Deadly Touch.
While visiting the grave of her former husband, Detective Josie Quinn, makes a gruesome discovery…a woman’s body. Not quite recovered from her last case and the death of her grandmother, Josie learns that the woman she found had been missing for several days. She was the mother of one of the children who had been killed in a previous school bus accident and was found by her daughter’s grave. Her manner of death is as confusing as the location of her body. As they painstakingly work the case, another mother of one of the children who died is now missing. After the devastation of the accident and death of the children, who could be so evil as to target the families in this manner? When prior items that were once missing from the families’ homes reappear, was the killer stealing from the families or leaving some sort of sick clue for the police. A very complex chain of events that will leave Josie racing against time to save the next missing woman. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. Absolutely Fantastic, I am loving this series. This has a great story line and once I started reading I couldn't stop.
I'm looking forward to reading more in this series
Another brilliant book from Lisa Regan.
Josie has been off for four months due to suspension following her last case.
She’s still grieving her grandmother, Lisette, and is suffering from nightmares of the day she died.
Noah is trying to help her and she’s also having therapy, but Josie can’t seem to come to terms with her loss.
The day before she is due back at work she finds the body of a woman, posed next to her daughter’s grave. She calls Noah and Gretchen and they realise it’s the missing woman they have been searching for.
Krystal was the mother of one of the children who died from a bus crash and they can’t work out why she was murdered.
Josie and Gretchen speak to the other parents who also lost their children in the crash, but no explanation for Krystal’s death can be found.
Another one of the mother’s soon goes missing and they know they only have a few days to find her before she is killed as well.
This is a gripping crime thriller that had me on the edge of my seat, especially when the team come face to face with the killer.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Her Deadly Touch, the twelfth novel to feature Detective Josie Quinn of the Denton, Pennsylvania PD.
Josie is returning to work after a long suspension and is immediately thrust into the investigation of the murder of Krystal Duncan, who was found posed on the grave of her daughter, one of five children killed in a bus crash. Is the murder linked to the crash or is it something else? When another mother of one of the dead children goes missing Josie is sure it links back to the crash.
I enjoyed Her Deadly Touch, which offers an engrossing mystery of who and why. It’s not just about the present day murder as the bus crash also throws up questions that need answers.
The novel is mostly told from Josie’s point of view, with the occasional flashback to the children’s last minutes. I don’t think the flashbacks add much to the narrative except to highlight the erratic driver and the children’s fear and both of these are recurrent in the narrative. Josie’s narrative lets the reader live the investigation with her, so all developments and reveals are a surprise and there are plenty as each character has secrets.
The novel could equally be titled If Only, as it’s all about missed opportunities to avert catastrophe in the form of the bus crash. I understand that the author is trying show Josie that the if only game is for mugs, in light of her self recrimination at recent events, but it gets messy and could have been handled more subtly, rather than with the metaphorical cudgel used.
Still, the novel held my interest throughout. Who would have guessed there could be so many interconnecting secrets in such a small group of people? It’s clever the way they link together individually to build a bigger picture. If only…
And no, I didn’t guess the perpetrator and still don’t really get the motive.
Her Deadly Touch is a good read that I can recommend.
A gripping novel, fast paced and full of unexpected twists and turns. The characters are well crafted and believable.
Lisa Regan just gets better and better!
Thank you Lisa, Netgalley and Bookouture (who always seem to get the best authors) for allowing me to read this book and give my unbiased opinion
Thank you to #NetGalley and #Bookouture
This is the 12th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series and they just keep getting better.
2 years prior a school bus crashed killing 5 of the children, now the trial of the driver is due.
Then one of the grieving mothers goes missing. Three days later she’s found dead at her daughter grave.
Can the two be connected?
Josie is just coming back to work after a major loss in her own life, can she and her team find the answers.
This book works well as a stand alone read. It will spark your appetite to read the rest.
Another great Josie Quinn novel. The novel boasts an intriguing storyline, engaging character development, and dramatic suspense making it a reliable, go-to book of the series. To get the most out of the storyline, the general recommendation would be to read at least one book prior but the novel can be read as a stand alone for those interested in just jumping in. 5 stars.
Thank you to #NetGalley and @bookouture for the ARC which was read and reviewed voluntarily.

Her Deadly Touch (Lisa Regan) is the latest in the adventures of Josie Quinn. I confess I've read all of this series and each story leaves me wanting to know more about Ms Quinn. In Her Deadly Touch Josie is still dealing with a death in her personal life (no spoilers!) but it is a stand alone story. I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy to review.
Detective Josie Quinn is one-day away from ending her four-month suspension from the force. She’s in therapy for trauma suffered on her last case—a double homicide that happened on her and Noah’s wedding day at their venue. Josie’s still grieving for her grandmother, who had been murdered during the course of that investigation.
While at the cemetery to visit her ex’s grave, Josie finds Krystal Duncan’s body, a mother missing for three days. She’s found sitting beside her daughter’s grave, her lips sealed with wax.
This case involves a school bus crash and the death of five children on board. Krystal Duncan was the mother of one of the children killed. Now a second bus mother is missing. Why are these mothers being targeted? Everyone is a possible crime suspect—the families of the victims all connecting in some way. This was an intense, heart-palpitating, suspensive ride! The police procedurals and dynamics between Josie and the squad were spot-on. No stone was left unturned.
This is an outstanding series - absolutely wonderful! Lisa Regan writes fresh, creative stories with jarring plot twists that just instantly draw me in and keep me entertained.
*Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for kindly sharing a review copy with me. All opinions are my own.
Her Deadly Touch by Lisa Regan is the 12th in the Detective Josie Quinn series.
First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Series Background: (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books)
Detective Josie Quinn has had a rough life, and she recently lost her beloved grandmother. She has a rather new family, including her twin sister - news reporter Trinity Payne, as well as her brother Patrick. She is now back at work with the Denton Police Department, and her team consists of Detective Noah Fraley (her new husband), Detective Gretchen Palmer, and Detective Finn Mettner. Their boss is Chief Bob Chitwood.
My Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
Josie is returning to work after a 4 month leave of absence to deal with the death of her grandmother. Her therapist could probably help her more if Josie actually spoke during her sessions.
She's not even back to work yet when she finds the body of Krystal Duncan who has been missing for days. Krystal was the mother of one of the 5 children who died in a bus accident two years ago. She is found kneeling at the gravesite of her dead daughter, and rigor has recently set in. There is wax on her lips and a word written on the inside of her arm. On further investigation, it appears that her death may lead back to what happened on that fateful day when her daughter died. When another one of the mother's is found dead, it becomes evident that there is a link to that crash.
My Opinions:
Please, read these books in order, as there is so much back-story to Josie's childhood, and her relationship with her grandmother that is really needed in this one...not to mention the events that occurred in the last book.
The plot of this one was really good, and I liked how the author tied each piece of evidence to the previous one. The trail of breadcrumbs moved quickly, and the short chapters helped to keep the pace moving.
I also liked how the author handled the topic of grief, and the fact that Josie didn't just get over her grandmother's death. It made her feel more real. As well, the other characters let her alone to deal with it, although they did offer their compassion, each in their own way. This was done really well. I believe it felt so real because the author used her own grief on the death of her father to write this.
There were lots of suspects to choose from, and I guessed wrong again! Lisa Regan, you are becoming my hero!
Anyway, looking forward to the next book!
I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Her Deadly Touch’, the twelfth in the Detective Josie Quinn series written by Lisa Regan, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Detective Josie Quinn is visiting the grave of her ex-husband when she’s alerted to the body of a woman whose lips are sealed with candle wax kneeling in front of her daughter’s grave. The woman is Krystal Duncan whose daughter was one of the five children that died two years ago in the West Denton school bus crash. As the trial of the bus driver gets ever nearer, is someone is targeting the mothers of the dead children?
‘Her Deadly Touch’ is another amazing episode in this incredible series where we follow Josie, Gretchen, Mett and Josie’s new husband Noah as they attempt to piece together the clues and discover the secrets the parents are keeping and the reason why the killer is trying to silence them. From the first page I’ve been gripped through each dramatic and heart-stopping incident, each twist and turn, trying to identify the killer but failing. I love this series and always look forward to the next one, and although this is the twelfth I’m hoping it will continue for a long time to come.
Great read with many logical twists. The cast of characters both bad and good are well drawn. Elements I haven't seen before in a novel of this genre
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc
Lisa Regan takes you on a wild ride with Book 12 of the Josie Quinn series.
Josie is still grieving but heading back to work . (Warning if you are grieving like I am, its a tough read but I learned a few things that will help me so don't miss out)
After a fatal and tragic bus crash involving children a few years ago, suddenly some of the parents are being found murdered.
There are so many secrets, so many lies .
I could not figure out who the culprit was.
The lights stayed on to finish the book,
I love the team that goes in hand in hand with Josie and cant wait for the next book in the series.
First in line, that will be me.
Lisa Regan you outdid yourself with Her Deadly Touch.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a read I wont soon forget.
Would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this amazing book
This book should come with a warning though if you are grieving a loved one as this one is an emotional rollercoaster as josie goes through the stage of grief and the author had it right about josie grief over her grandmother....had me in tears at the end
After a fatal bus crash where several children didn’t survive the parents of those children still meet up to talk through their grief, but they are all facing the upcoming court case with the driver who killed their children
As one of the parents turns up died actually on the grave of her daughter there are fears abound ... can josie who is back on the job after her suspension is over figure out what is happening ...as the secrets spill from the parents of the dead children, it’s full steam ahead for josie and. Her team to sort out
Nail gripping and you will be kept up late at night to see who is who
Poor josie I feel for her as I have also recently lost a very close family member and this book struck several nerves
As the story opens Detective Josie Quinn is about to return to active duly after being on leave following the brutal death of her grandmother. As she is trying to come to terms with her grief and failing miserably she “buys” another murder. Prior to her loss she would have rushed in taking command of the murder scene. Now she hesitates, realizing she is not ready. This is a very different Josie Quinn then we have a seen in previous installments. She is fragile, distracted, insecure, suffering.
The story is complicated with many secrets to be divulged and consequences to be faced and uncovered. A horrible tragedy sits in the center and the mystery radiates from there. The Denton Police Department is one step behind and the bodies are piling up. This story is a stronger collaboration between all the characters we have come to know in previous installments and even the incorrigible Chief shows a modicum of compassion and understanding (nice, long overdue nod). While this book can be read as a stand alone I believe reading the previous installments strengthens each subsequent book.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookoutre for a copy
