Lisa Regan is at it again! I really love her character, Josie Quinn! I've gotten to know Josie throughout all her books and think of her as a friend. Every single story is powerful and full of energetic thrills!

One of her previous books covered the story of the five children killed in a bus crash and how it affected the whole community. With this book, the story seems to come full circle with twists and turns and a whole lot of secrets. The twist here is that the parents of those children are being murdered and it's up to Josie and her team to find out the who and why.

So, take a load off, relax and read Lisa Regan's "Her Deadly Touch" and you will not be disappointed. Thank you #NetGalley for providing me with AC of the book!

This is book #12 in the Josie Quinn series. I’ve followed this series right from the very beginning, so couldn’t wait to start this one. Whilst it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, although I would recommend reading them in series order. Josie is still recovering from the aftermath of what happened in the previous book, and I have to admit my heart was still breaking for Josie now just as much as it did then. It’s her first day back at work and she’s thrown straight into the case of a missing woman. A school bus crash a few years before where 5 children were killed is still sending shockwaves throughout the town and it’s down to Josie and her team to try and work out whether this tragedy is linked to the woman’s disappearance.

The story was fast paced and gripping right from the very beginning. It’s obvious that Josie’s mind is elsewhere throughout the book, but I applauded her determination and grittiness to get to the bottom of what was going on despite being in the worst place that Josie has ever been. The storyline moves on with more links to the bus crash and we are left wondering throughout how everything ties in together. There is a lack of clues for Josie and her team, and it feels at one point that they will never work it out! The suspense and tension were high throughout the book and you can feel your heart beating faster as you read! Josie’s usual team are back to help her, and I absolutely loved Gretchen’s relationship with Josie – how wonderful it must be to have, not just a colleague, but a friend like her!

On a personal level for Josie, this book feels rawer and more emotional as her grief is so evident. Unusually for books of this genre, Josie’s storyline brought me to tears on more than one occasion! The book as a whole though is fantastic and keeps you on your toes throughout trying to work everything out along with the team! It will keep you hooked until the very last page and will definitely keep you guessing. This series just keeps getting better and better! Roll on book #13! Highly recommended!

Wow!

Another exciting installment and chance to get to know more about detective Josie Quinn.

This story was fast paced and character driven, which is a signature of Lisa Regan. The actual case involved a bus crash and death of children on board. Discovering the secrets of the surviving parents was very engaging.

I love Lisa Regans writing and this story was not a disappointment!

I like Lisa Regan’s Josie Quinn detective series; this is the 12th in the series, the fifth I have read.

Josie is still fragile after losing her beloved grandmother in the last book’s case. Returning to work after a leave, she is perhaps not as strong as she has been in the past and more vulnerable, but every bit as intelligent and competent. The plot and subplots are a bit complex, but do tie together. Everyone, it seems, has a secret, so there are lots of red herrings and twists. There are a number of characters, but each one is distinct enough to not be confusing.

As Josie deals with her loss (and the author copes with her own loss while writing this book), grief and especially the guilt that can accompany it are threaded throughout. If only we could deal with the “if only” in our lives.

Fast paced, I didn’t want to put this book down. Although I thought this one was a bit of a stretch, I still enjoyed it.

I always appreciate revisiting the repeating characters in Josie’s life. Although this would work as a stand alone, I think it will be appreciated more by those who have read others in the series and are familiar with Josie’s personal story.

If you like police procedurals/thrillers, and are not familiar with Lisa Regan, I would recommend her. I can’t wait for the next one!

This ARC was provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The Detective Josie Quinn series has become my favorite series and Her Deadly Touch, the 12th installment is not a disappointment. When a mother of a school bus crash victim goes missing and days later her body is found on the grave of her daughter, the Denton Police are searching for the reasons why and who is responsible. Josie is dealing with the aftermath of the death of a beloved and wondering if she wants to go back to her job after 4 months of suspension. Once again, this story will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley and Lisa Regan.

This new installment of the Josie Quinn books will not disappoint! The start of the novel finds Josie continuing to try to deal with the death of her beloved grandmother. She is feeling a lot of guilt and keeps playing the "What if?" game in terms of what she could have done differently which wouldn't have resulted in her grandmother's death. It turns out that her ability to play the "What if" game will be an integral part of solving the most recent slew of murders that are taking place in her town. The way the mystery unravels feels very different than in past novels but in a new and refreshing way that reflect where Josie is at emotionally. As usual, Lisa Regan has crafted an enjoyable mystery that will pull you into all the mayhem!!!

This is an excellent series featuring Detective Josie Quinn. Book 12 is as compelling a read as the previous ones. It's full of suspense, developing characterisation and has an interesting plot filled with twists. I really never worked out the killer and I can highly recommend the read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Love me some Josie Quinn! I know I've missed a couple of books here and there, but jumped right back in and couldn't put it down! Don't start here, as you need some background on Josie to really understand her emotional state in this book. But the series is worth the time spent! Full of action, a few twists, and lots of emotion!

#12  in the series is another superb read but has a bit of a different feel to it with more raw emotions.  Josie is back at work after her suspension though she's still trying to deal with the grief and responsibility she feels after Lisette's death. Thankfully her team is there to help but she has a hard time holding it together with the increasing number of murders and little clues to point to a suspect.
As always, a great plot and well written characters. I  really like how we've got to see Josie grow and learn to cope with the trauma and adversity that is her life over the course of this series  I was defintely surprised when the murderer was revealed.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

As always, Lisa Regan outdoes herself once again. Her Deadly Touch featuring Josie Quinn is outstanding! As Josie works through losing her beloved grandmother and all the ramifications of that, she is tossed back into a case that appears to revolve around the families of five children killed in a school bus accident. With Gretchen by her side, helping her with both the case and the death of her grandmother, the duo begin with a missing person's case and it expands further than either believed possible. The supporting case is again fabulous with Gretchen getting more time in this book, and the Chief... he might not be so bad after all. It's part of a series, but readers can jump into this book and then read the rest to get Josie' and her team's backstory. This is a must read!!!

Love love love this series! The last book packed a wallop and so does this one. Josie relives her grandmother’s death repeatedly. She can’t shake her depression and lackluster attitude toward her job. But what in the world is going on in Denton? A bus crash which took the lives of 5 kids is still reverberating the community as bodies begin appearing. The families of the deceased are intricately connected in various layers. My Sleuthing radar completely failed me because every suspect I honed in on turned out to be wrong. I did sense someone was too nonchalant amd I should have gone with it. Oh well, Josie gets back in the game and her colleagues are right there to assist as another case closes in Denton. I’m impatiently waiting for the next drop.

Five dead children, grieving parents, murdered parents and a lot of secrets ensure that book 12 in the Josie Quinn series is just as great as the previous books.

I’ve been waiting for this book, mostly because I’m a huge fan of Josie and her team. I was not disappointed. Not only did they all work great together (I always enjoy Josie and Gretchen working close together and of course Noah is just the best), the story was just so well constructed, with new secrets coming to light every few pages. Grief was a big part of this book, not only of the grieving parents, but of Josie’s as well. While it gave the book an overall sadder atmosphere, Josies own emotional journey throughout the story was worked expertly into the plot.

I can’t wait for book 13 and for what’s next for Josie!

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Her Deadly Touch is book 12 in the series of Detective Josie Quinn. I have not read the previous books in the series. I wish I had and will put these on my list to read. This could definitely be a stand alone read. It gives a lot of back story as to what has happened up until this book begins. The writing and the storytelling is so good it will make you want to start at book one.

"On her first day back with the Denton PD after a major trauma, Detective Josie Quinn is on the hunt for a missing woman, Krystal Duncan, the mother of one of five children killed in a devastating school bus crash. Hours later, Josie finds Krystal’s body beside her daughter’s grave, her lips sealed together forever with wax."

The story will continue to unfold as the parents of the victims of a deadly school bus crash end up missing one by one. These people are keeping secrets about what happened leading up to the crash that will be revealed. Meanwhile Josie is trying to deal with a loss as well while returning to work. She will struggle with this as she sees parallels of grief and feeling guilty. Josie will have to work hard to put these feelings aside in order to find the truth and save the few that are left.

Her Deadly Touch, the twelfth book in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan, deals with a past tragedy of a school bus accident and a current murder. I started reading in the middle of this series, but it soon became one of my favorites. All of the books have elements of a procedural, but are mixed with a lot of tension and suspense. The events of this book pick up after the prior book, Hush Little Girl. The last few books have worked well as standalones, but I would recommend reading Hush Little Girl before this one.

The intriguing plot and the fast pace of this book kept me riveted and I was very surprised by the ending. This is my favorite of the seven books in this series that I’ve read. There is a nice balance between the investigation and Josie’s personal life. Josie is still reeling from events in the prior book, but is still determined to solve the complex case she is assigned. Since Josie is just coming back from mandatory leave, I really enjoyed getting to know the likable Detective Gretchen Palmer better as she is the one leading this investigation. As part of the case and Josie’s life, the book deals with the topic of grief as well as the danger in trying to second guess past actions and trying to predict what would have happened, “if only” I had or hadn’t done or said what I did. I found this part of the story so relatable and felt so badly for the characters going through this. There is a lot of sadness in the book, but it ends on a hopeful note. Lisa Regan has another winner with Her Deadly Touch.

Keep turning those pages!
Detective Josie Quinn is going back to work after a 4 month leave to deal with her grandmothers’ death, is she ready, can she deal with the “If only...”
Krystal Duncan, who has been missing and is the mother of the one of the five children that were killed in a school bus crash 2 years earlier, is found at her daughter’s graveside, her lips sealed with wax. As Josie and the team delve into the Krystal’s life, they dig into the school bus crash, and all families had a ‘secret’
Soooo good!!
Thank you NetGalley and Booktoure for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

The book is as good as the others in the series. Following a school bus crash and the death of five children, the parents are now targeted. The plot is good and I could not guess the suspense. My one sore point is Josie wallowing in guilt for months. She is portrayed as a sensible and strong willed person throughout and now she is totally falling apart and everyone pussyfooting around her.

I absolutely love this series! Every time I get my hands on the newest book i drop everything and dive in. I loved reuniting with the characters and getting back to business with Josie and the gang. This case was perplexing and I loved following along. I didn’t like the conclusion that much, it got a bit convoluted for my tastes. However, returning to the force with this crew is always a delight! My thanks to the publisher for the advance reader in exchange for my honest review!

Her Deadly Touch by Lisa Regan brings murder, drama, grief, and suspense to a well-written and dramatic police procedural and crime thriller set in Denton, Pennsylvania. This is the twelfth book in the Detective Josie Quinn series and the third book that I have read by this author.

Josie is due to report back to work for the Denton police department tomorrow, but doesn’t feel ready for it. She decides to visit the grave of her first husband. While there, she hears a woman scream. When Josie investigates she finds Krystal Duncan’s body. Krystal has been missing for a few days and is the mother of one of five children that were killed in a school bus crash two years ago. Josie is partnered with Detective Gretchen Palmer; and the case immediately gets complicated.

Josie is a compelling character and someone you can root for. Her grief and guilt over the recent loss of a close family member, realistic and woven seamlessly into the story, makes her feel more relatable. The secondary characters providing support and conflict had varying degrees of depth, but enhanced the story rather than detracting from it. While there are a large number of characters to keep track of, it wasn’t difficult to keep them straight.

The plot is suspenseful, fresh, complex and entertaining, but also somewhat sad and shocking. There are plenty of plot twists and turns with several surprises. With a fast pace from scene to scene, and subplots that tie together well, the tension, stakes and action build up to an exciting and pulse-quickening dramatic ending. The prose is well-written and entertaining.

Once again, this author has brought mystery, family dynamics, grief, secrets, lies and much more to life in a page turner that kept me engaged throughout. Her ability to bring fresh approaches to an established genre and series are fantastic. She brings strong characters, complex plots, twists and turns, and excellent pacing to this series. My only quibble was with the few flashbacks that were included which I didn’t think were necessary.

Overall, I was hooked immediately in the first chapter and the pages kept turning. The novel had me trying to determine the killer before Josie. Will you figure out what is happening? I recommend this book to those that enjoy thrillers with an edge, great police procedurals and those that enjoy this series. While not absolutely necessary, I would recommend reading the series in order to gain more insight into the characters. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Absofrickenloutly amazing as usual. I adore Josie Quinn. Lisa Regan writes the most endearing, relatable characters. They feel like family. I’m always excited beyond words when a see a new book on the horizon. This one was no exception. It was fantastic start to finish. Full of suspense and twists and turns leading to an ending that is explosive. This is one of those books that you stay up way to late to read. I love the series because we get to know each character on such a detailed personal level so we can almost feel what they feel during the story. If you are a reader of this series pick up this book ASAP. If you are not... then go pick up the first in the series and be prepared to be hooked. This author never disappoints
