This was my first Nicola Marsh book and definately wont be my last. I loved the pace of the book and it kept me guessing from beginning to end. Amazing read, I loved this one so much!
I loved this it was a brilliant read. Fast paced, engaging and lots of twists and turns which is a perfect recipe for a thriller. Loved the characters and the storyline and it had me hooked for the beginning.
Highly recommended and well deserves the 5 stars
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley.
This book was awesome. It has a timeline of past and present. Lots of people have secrets in this one also. It has a fast pace, with loads of twists and turns. Lots of moments where you will be shaking your head.
Secrets and lies aplenty!
The Liar Next Door is a solid domestic thriller. Written from three perspectives and going back and forth between the past and the present, we learn how these three women are connected, even though they don’t know they are themselves.
I thought this was a really good book, well written with well developed characters. There were plenty of secrets revealed along the way and a few twists that, even though I had guessed some of them, I still found enjoyable.
I raced through this story, desperate to find out what was going on and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Could not put this one down! I cannot wait for her next book - Amazing tale of suspense and relationships!
Anything by Nicola Marsh is an auto-read for me, and this one did not disappoint. I had no idea where the story was going, although I had so many guesses along the way. I love that it kept me on the edge of my seat! Read in one sitting, highly recommend!
I wanted to like this book. I usually like seeing a story from different points of view, but even this didn't work for me. Sorry - just not for me.
Now this is one hell of a psychological thriller! Obsession, secret, lies... it has it all and more.
I'm not afraid to admit I spent alot of time (ALOT) scratching my head, completely bamboozled by what was going on. It's a really puzzling tale but i would 100% recommend you stay with it!!
Centred around three women; Celeste an anxious single mum, Frankie a minor celebrity vlogger and Saylor a newly pregnant housewife. Each one has their own secrets and lies and each women will stop at nothing to keep it that way.
I'm pleased to say that each character was interesting, somewhat likeable and relevant in their own standing. No filler characters were needed to keep the interest piqued at all.
I loved just how gripped I was, even though I honestly felt clueless 50% of the time, the way the author intricately weaved these characters and their stories together was magnificent.
The wrapping up and ending was created brilliantly.
A book that had me still thinking about it days after I had finished.
Solid 4*
Huge thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.
When you read the final words of the last chapter of the book and the words that come out of your mouth are OMG and WOW, you know you've just read a absolutely brilliant book, which is what happened to me with this book.
The story plot was so cleverly and intricately woven like a maze, taking you down lots of different routes which you thought would reveal the answer but in fact turned out to be yet another deadend.
There was a lot of characters to keep track of, figuring out what their part was within the story, whether they were a victim or a guilty of something. It was all very gripping and I could not turn the pages fast enough.
I was truly captivated and enthralled with this book and throughout reading it, I kept trying to piece everything together in my head, and figure it all out, and wondering how it would all end. Absolutely amazing and a brilliant ending.
Secrets and Liars – always a good combination – and author Nicola Marsh did a bang-up job of weaving layers in the plot line with twists every few pages.
3 women living next door in a closed off community, Frankie, Celeste, and Saylor, had a past and present, but nobody could have guessed that taking the child and the consequences of the action would have been the future? Or was it all planned? Who was the one with the darkness in the soul?
I loved the gossipy feeling I got while reading this. A perverse nature of human mind to know all the sordid details. I couldn’t help myself from reading the book at one-go as all the ladies were so eager to tell me. But mind you, Ms. Marsh didn’t allow her characters to reveal everything. A tight leash was kept on all characters. I was quite eager to read from the last page, but I controlled myself.
Each chapter turned me inside out as I thought I had it guessed, but no…never…nada. A-twist-a-second was what I felt when I kept turning pages all through the afternoon. A delight ran through me as each truth kept surfacing. There you go…you know the reason now.
Hidden motives and connections, truths and lies kept the pace fast and furious with a glorious, explosive ending. Time well spent, I would say.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of The Liar Next Door by Nicola Marsh
This was a book I couldn't put down, written from 3 characters perspectives, but not at all confusing. Characters were well developed and introduced. Frankie is the main character, then Celeste and Saylor. They all meet in a small community they have recently moved to. There is a large park in the middle of the community where they host get togethers. Frankie hosts an online blog and most know exactly who she is, quite famous with thousands of viewers, married, mother of 5 yr old Luna. Celeste is a single mom, just moved here to escape her ex with her daughter Violette and Saylor is married and expecting her first in a few months.
This is a must read, gripping, can't put down. Find out how the lives of these characters weave together. The author has done a great job with twists and turns and surprises you wouldn't have guessed. I really enjoyed this book and want to read more from this author
I received an eARC of The Liar Next Door by Nicola Marsh from Bookouture and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
Scandal, secrets, and lies! This domestic thriller is fantastically entertaining! The twists and drama kept me engaged from start to finish. 4 stars!
The Liar Next Door by Nicola Marsh is sort of domestic suspense that slowly builds into a domestic thriller. The story in this one is told from multiple points of view switching between them with each chapter and also having some instances of diving into the past.
What a book.
Nicola Marsh certainly didn't disappoint with this story.
Just when you "think" you had figured everything out - she throws in yet another curveball and turns everything upside down.
I loved the twists and turns in this book that didn't stop until almost the very last line.
Well worth the read - although put time aside where no one will bother you, as you won't want to put this book down.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.
The Liar Next Door
By: Nicola Marsh
This story centers on the quiet little neighborhood of Hambridge Heights where everyone seems to have a secret. Frankie is a lifestyle vlogger who makes a pretty penny depicting her seemingly perfect life, but who has secrets from her past marriage. Celeste is the newest neighbor and she and her daughter Violette are running from someone or something. A very pregnant Saylor is also a recent transplant to the neighborhood and she is dealing with an unknown blackmailer. As the women and their families get to know one another, the web of lies through the neighborhood begins to unravel until all are left with shocking discoveries.
This book was very well planned and executed and I loved it! I won’t provide any spoilers, but I will say that I was shocked several times, up until the very end of the book. This is one of those great mystery/thrillers that will keep you guessing until the last page. I highly recommend this excellent read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When two new families move into the small, close knit community, Frankie is keen to make friends with them. She lives with her husband Andre and their five year old daughter Luna. One of the new neighbours is Celeste and her young daughter Violette. The other one being Saynor who is married to Lloyd and expecting their first child. Frankie begins to be suspicious about Celeste as she is very keen on Luna and Violette becoming best friends and also appears to be interested in Andre. It soon becomes clear that everyone has secrets and who can be trusted? This book is a fantastic read, full of secrets, deceit, friendships and blackmail and with so many twists and turns. This is a book that you will not be able to put down, don’t miss reading it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is my first book by Nicole Marsh. I had trouble following it as it seemed a bit far-fetched & “here & there”. The writing was solid & descriptive, I just couldn’t get into the story. I don’t like to leave a bad review, as I feel that I may have trouble getting into a book due to things going on in my life but I don’t think that was the case here. Again, enjoyed the writing, the story, not so much🤷🏼♀️
What a crazy ride! This novel had more twists and turns than a roller coaster! Who was the liar next door? Who wasn’t?! Frankie, Celeste, and Saylor are three women that live next door to each other and they all carry multiple secrets. This was a fun thriller. It felt like a soap opera on crack! Every time I thought I knew what was going on, something would be revealed that would send me back to the drawing board. Light I will definitely be checking out more from this author!
Every once in a while, I read a book that pulls me in and keeps me interested from beginning to end, even as the author switches gears.
This is 100% one of those books.
Not only did the author switch gears, but she sent it into overdrive with a gonzo final third that had me gasping, saying “no WAY!” and wondering how it was all going to play out in the end.
If you’ve read my reviews, you know that I’m not one for hyperbole and I don’t often overdo my reactions.
But seriously, this one had me saying “WTH” more than a few times, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
Right up to the very last page.
But even in the beginning, the author did a fantastic job of building the tension. The introduction of each of the women, Frankie, Celeste, and Saylor, was just enough to let the reader know that the “liar next door” could have actually been any one of them.
The perspective changes as chapters alternate between the three women, with some of Frankie’s past told in flashbacks. It all fits together quite seamlessly and creates a whole picture of the action, including motivations.
I liked how the author kept me guessing as to who each character might have been referring to at any given time. That definitely contributed to the shocking moments later in the book.
I really don’t want to give anything away, but I did like how the author ended it. There was no disappointment, and it was the perfect wrap-up for an absolutely insane and twisty plot.
Well-done on this one. Definitely one of the better ones I have read this year. It should absolutely be put on your TBR list immediately.
