Redemption by Traci Hunter Abramson is a touching love story. A young man who had a difficult and violent relationship with his father was stopped from killing him when younger. He goes to prison for a short time and receives therapy. After sre=reathening himself out and completing college he is offered a job working with others who need help. Its a hard adjustment for him since he feels some resentment from his peers. However he wins them over with his honsestly and personal development.
This book is well written and has has strong theme about trust and emotioonal growth.
I love the Saint Squad books. This one took me a little bit to get into but once I was hooked I couldn't put it down. I thought it was a fascinating look into a problem that plagues us right now, mass shootings. We see it from both sides. Gage and Skyler have very interesting backgrounds and it helped move the story.

Another Saint Squad installment. I loved this fast paced suspense. Skyler Prescott, is the daughter of a hotel chain owner. Skyler is determined to make a difference and not be like her two siblings, one an achololic and one a gambler.
Gage Stewart, is trying to change his bad reputation of being brainwashed at fifteen. Gage wonders if he will ever be able to live free of his past. Skyler just wants a chance to show her parents that she can be successful. This book had me turning pages as fast as I could, so I could find out what happened.
Traci Hunter Abramson does an excellent job with her latest Saint Squad novel! This is a great clean suspense book with lots of action, great characters, a few laughs, and a great theme! I loved the theme of redemption in the book- that people can make mistakes, but they don't define the kind of person someone can be! I also appreciate that although this book is part of a series, you can read it as a standalone book- I haven't read all of the Saint Squad books, but was still able to follow everything just fine! It totally made me want to read the others though! Great book!
I've previously read book 10 in the series, but none of the other ones. There are a lot of characters who are part of the squad and they care for each other like family.
Gage and Skyler are the main characters in this story, even though we get scenes in other POVs, including the two shooters, for the sake of narrative.
It was an interesting perspective to have Gage hired on for his past experience as the attempted shooter when he was a teen. He's changed his name and he wants to put his past behind him, but it's that unique perspective that gives him insight into the situations that arise.
Skyler works at the hotel her family owns, a family that has lots of problems, and she tries to live a normal life despite the money she comes from.
As Gage and Skyler spend more time with each other, their friendship fills a need they each have, and at times their insecurities get in the way.
The assassination plot was crazy! Senator Whitmore does have nine lives, it seems.
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Traci does it again! I absolutely love her books! For one because her background allows for her to write extremely believable stories and for another her stories are unique and unlike other books I read. Redemption is unique because you get to know one of the villians from a previous book better. I loved the villian's character development and her heroine is also delightful and intriguing. I especially liked seeing how forgiveness and acceptance is possible even after the most trying of circumstances!
I haven’t read any of the other Saint Squad books but Redemption was still amazing and thrilling! Redemption is the 11th book in Traci Hunter Abramson's Saint Squad series and it was truly a wonderful suspenseful book! Redemption had so many wonderful characters and a story that I couldn’t put down. I know I need to read the rest of the books. I know have so many books to add to my TBR!
Skylar was so fun to read about, she was learning how to be herself and not let her family define her. She just wanted to live a quiet life, but being related to a man who owned hotels had their perks. It was sweet to read about her falling in love with Gage, she allowed him to see parts of herself that she kept hidden from the rest of the world. However, will she stand with Gage when she learns about his past? Will Skylar be able to see the changed man that Gage had become?
I felt for Gage from the beginning. He had gone through so much at a young age and I wanted him to find peace. I enjoyed reading about him as he learned to forgive himself and move on from the past. It was cute to read about him falling in love with Skylar and wanting to make her feel special. However, teaching others what to do during mass shootings brings back memories of his past. Gage had to figure out how to help others and see the good in himself.
Gage and Skylar were definitely a lot of fun to read about, but it was also so interesting to read from some of the other Saint Squad members' perspective. It was cool to read about the Saint Squad and it made me want to read the other books. I love characters who find their “family” and stick with them. The characters were lovely, and their relationships were so relatable. The action and suspense were perfect. I didn’t feel scared but I also couldn’t put the book down. I needed to know what would happen and how it would end.
Redemption is the first suspense book that I have read written by Traci Hunter Abrmason, but it will definitely not be the last. I would totally recommend this book, even if you haven’t read the rest of the series it is still great. I also love how the title fits the story, it was such an awesome reception story
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
I posted my review on Barnes and Nobles on 08/05/2021. I will post on blog and Amazon closer to release date.
I loved “Redemption” by Traci Hunter Abramson! This was my favorite book by her, so far. This book caught me from the first page onto the last. I think the reason why I really liked this book was because the plot was so much different than most other romantic suspense novels I’ve read.
There was lots of action, suspense and a little romance all thrown together. I highly recommend it!
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
There is just something super exciting about starting a new book. Especially when it’s from one of your all time favorite authors! I have LOVED the Saint Squad series and this addition was no exception. It is filled with edge of your seat suspense, and will keep you up till the wee hours of the morning because you can’t put it down. Traci Hunter Abramson is absolutely brilliant!
Once again, Traci Hunter Abramson has created riveting storyline with lovable, relatable characters. I always love her books and this latest installment of the Saint Squad Series is no exception.
The previous ten Saint Squad books are engaging reads and books you read again and again. Redemption was no exception to that. Traci has a wonderful way of interweaving many different characters into one storyline. I really liked having the antagonists side, Gage (Eric) and Skyler's point of view, and the Saint Squad view. It brings a lot of insight to how everyone would react in different situations throughout the book.
I really liked that Gage (Eric Rhodes from book two, Lockdown) was brought back into the world, now as a young adult, college grad, and new person. I enjoyed that Traci gave him the chance to move forward and close his story. Skyler was a good character to be introduced to as well. She had a gritty gentleness about her. She was kind, but also knew when and how to stand up for herself and her needs. I think we could use more Skyler's in the world, personally. Tristan and Riley, being the spotlighted members of the Saint Squad cast, was nice to have. I enjoyed their story, Lockdown, and seeing them as a family years down the road is fulfilling.
The story was filled with suspense and a sweet, tender budding relationship. I felt like the climax was well done and filled with great detail that I could see it in my imagination as I read. Traci always does a really good job with these types of scenes. The only thing for me was that I felt like it ended a bit abruptly. However, I think that was mostly due to the format I was reading it on. I didn't see a progress bar or see physical pages to know it was coming, and that more than likely took me off guard. Even though I had wished for just a little more at the end, it was still a very satisfying way to finish that story. It felt finished and completed, which I highly appreciate.
The suspense is just building in this world! I can just see something big coming up and you better believe I will be ready when it comes out. Traci has yet to write something I haven't liked. I will keep coming back every time.
This is in my top reads pile for sure. 5 star rating.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was one of my new favorite books! I loved seeing how much Gage grew from when we first met him in Lockdown. He conquered his demons, but they still haunt him. Plus...we still got to see Jay go up a tree! Skyler was one of my favorite kinds of heroines. She wasn't afraid to say no and go after what she wants in life.
This is suspense at it’s best, in my opinion! I have been a long time Saint Squad series fan and that won’t be changing anytime soon. I loved that this book could be read as a stand-alone, but also loved reading it, having read all previous books. It’s been a while since the last Saint Squad book came out so this had me revisiting ALL of my favorite characters!
The plot for this book is one I never would have come up with following this series, and one that I’m so glad was written. I absolutely LOVE redemption stories. It was fun having Gage come into this series and be a character you WANTED to cheer for. The resistance from the Saint Squad letting him in their midst was perfectly written and I felt all the turmoil! Add in a pinch of political intrigue, a dash of romance and this book was everything I want in a suspense!
Highly recommend this book, this series and honestly, all books by Tracie Hunter Abramson! She is consistent and delivers on every single book! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
This book was not what I was expecting, but I loved it! I particularly enjoyed it after reading the author's acknowledgments and learning what sparked the idea for this story. It made me question my own biases.
It was fun to run into the Saint Squad again and watch them battle THEIR own biases as they began working with Gage Stewart, a young man they encountered 5 years before as he held his classroom hostage at gunpoint. Gage has turned his life around but is finding that it is hard to escape his past.
Skyler Prescott is a young woman trying to create her own life out of the spotlight of her family and their scandals.
The two become friends, keeping their pasts secret from the other until they know each other better. But soon circumstances won't allow them to keep secrets any longer.
This book kept me up late into the night as I worried about the two and all the powers working against them. I always enjoy Traci Hunter Abramson's books because she weaves suspense through her stories so well.
This book references the events in "Lockdown." The prologue gives you the essential information you need from "Lockdown" to read this book, so you could read it as a standalone.
Good story with strong character and a plot that moves at a good pace. Inspires reaction to the characters’ actions, reactions, and predicaments. Part of a series, but works well as a standalone.

-Release Date:
-Series: (name the series, if not a series, just put N/A)
-Author: Traci Hunter Abramson
-Overall: ⅘, 6/10
-Plots and storyline: 3/5
-Characters: 3/5
-Would I reread? Not very likely, but possibly in a few years.
-Would I recommend? Maybe.
-Reading time for me: A few days.
-Will I continue the series? Possibly.
-Short and sweet: It’s entertaining, and it held my interest, but sadly the plot wasn’t very unique or creative. It was like most other Christian suspense novels, so nothing was unexpected and the story was predictable.
-One word review: Interesting.
I hate writing negative, or even just “meh” reviews. I liked Redemption, I did…but it fell short of certain expectations. Redemption is an interesting book, don’t get me wrong. The story is fairly exciting and at some parts, fairly suspenseful but it lacked a very creative plot, and it was highly predictable. Of course, I still enjoyed it, which is high praise because before reading this, I was stuck in a book hangover zone and just didn’t want to read anything, so I’m glad this held my interest enough to get me back into books again after a few weeks of no reading.
It just seemed like every other Christian suspense novel. There weren’t any real twists and I’m beginning to think that most Christian suspense authors are the same. But I did enjoy this one, and I’ll check out the author’s other books for sure.
The characters were practically the same scenario...they were typical. Not sure if bland is the right word, but they didn’t stand out. The choices they made were sometimes unrealistic and to put it bluntly, stupid. One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when a character has some important information that they should share with the others, but they either keep getting interrupted or they are too scared to tell the truth. I know authors do this to try and keep the readers’ attention, but instead it just frustrates me. Sadly, Redemption did this...a lot.
I will say this...The cover is pretty, but not my favorite…
Overall, go check this out. It’s a fun book, just don’t expect a fantastic and totally unique story, but it’s certainly enjoyable and I’m very glad that it’s clean.

Thanks to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I was not asked or required to write a positive review.
Fast paced with intrigue, Redemption by Traci Hunter Abramson is a great read. Trying to overcome his past Gage Stewart will have to learn to rely not only on what he's learned but also on those who care for him. While not an easy task, considering his one and only encounter with the Saint Squad was not a positive one, Gage, with the help of his new boss Rily of the Palmetta Group and his friend Skyler, will find that goodness comes from within and that when the chips are down he is capable of rising above and being the hero.
Abramson writes believable characters with strong connections and a determination to uphold truth and right interspersed with great a plot and a few twists.
I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley
What if you had a memory of an event that changed your life? Gage had one of those - as a 15 year old teenager he had stood in a classroom wanting to kill his father, a teacher, and not finding him, had threatened his classmates, before he was shot in the arm and disarmed. But Gage had been abused by his father and brainwashed by a psychologist, he had received treatment and changed his name and started a new life.
Now Gage had met a girl, Skyler, and she was beautiful and smart, and he wanted to get to know her. Little did he know, they were about to be targeted by 2 ruthless killers...
will Gage and Skyler escape from their assasins or be their next victims?
I was excited to receive an advanced copy of Traci Hunter Abrahmson’s newest saint squad book, Redemption. It was a fast paced exciting story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down!
The main characters in this book are Gage and Skyler, both victims of an unhappy family life, and both with a secret that could destroy their relationship. This is a book about forgiveness and being able to move beyond past mistakes to make something of your life.
While this book is part of the Saint Squad series it could easily be read as a stand alone. But as a warning, if you have not already read the other books in this series this book will make you want to immediately go read the others! Getting to read about the well loved characters from the past saint squad books was like visiting with old friends and catching up with their lives.
I highly recommend this book. It was suspenseful and well written with likeable characters.
I am already a fan of the Saint Squad and eagerly read their latest adventure. Abramson creates stand alone books with cross over characters involving a Navy Seal team and their families. In this pulsating adventure Riley hires Gage as a consultant for her company that trains police and others on handing live shootings. Gage's life experience is unique. Five years ago he was manipulated and brought a gun to his high school wanting to kill his father. While starting his new job he stays at the Prescott hotel where he meets and befriends Skylar Prescott. They are both barely in their 20s and start spending time together. The other plot involves trying to assassinate a US senator running for president. Both storylines mesh together well. I like how the author goes into the feelings of survivors of shootings. I was also happy to have cameos of several of the other main characters from the previous books catching up briefly on their lives. As always these books are clean. Religion is part of the Seals lives, praying and attending church, without a denomination mentioned. Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.
