Really good story, but I wish I would have read Susie's original story first. Good characters, nice plot. Not a lot of skipping around which was nice.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

This was a quick read and was a great escape for an afternoon. The author delivers another fresh and fun romance.
Many thanks to Lacy Williams Books LLC and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Susie acts in haste and repents in leisure. Her first marriage was a disaster that left her a widow, broke with 1 child and about to have another. Her bad luck continues when the stagecoach she is on breaks a wheel. Thus her adventures begin. Her story is probably more common than we want to believe for women in that time. A second marriage is an option but could she dare trust another man? The story was interesting. The characters were varied when added interest. The relationship between Gil and Susie held the story together. I liked the book.

The story begins with Susie, a widowed, expectant mother, riding a stagecoach with her young daughter in 1909 on her way to visit a friend.. Gil Hart s a gambler who is also riding on the same coach when it crashes. He is headed west after being told he does not have long to live by his doctor. For some reason, the pregnant woman is the last one helped out of the wreck. They are left behind to shelter in a cave while the driver and other passengers take the horses to the nearby town.

This book is one of a Christian romance series and it can be read as a stand-alone.

Note; There is a mention of the game "eye spy" which should be "I spy"

This was so enjoyable. About a mother and her little girl traveling out west by wagon. The wagon had a broken wheel and this disturbed their travel but what developed was a welcome love story for the reader. It was short but you did not feel like you were missing anything and it did not go on for pages and pages. Nice for anyone.

3/5 stars

Gil and Susie were an endearing couple. Susie has had some past trauma from her marriage that the author captured well going on. I enjoyed that it wasn’t insta love and the couple got to know each other.

I do feel the title is a little misleading as Gil is not a cowboy at all. Neither was Susies first husband from reading it. I also thought the cave birthing scene was a little too easy or quick? I think I would have preferred a flashback of Susie remembering it then going through it. It just didn’t flow to me.

I enjoyed meeting Susie’s family and having them surround them. It was kind of full circle having her go home and be with family. I would have liked to see the same on his side as well.

Overall it was a sweet romantic read.

I enjoyed this book, it was a cute 2nd chance romance.

Something really bothered me:

"Definition of wrangler
1 : a bickering disputant
2 [short for horse-wrangler, probably partial translation of Mexican Spanish caballerango groom] : a ranch hand who takes care of the saddle horses
broadly : COWBOY"

The man doesn't like horses and when he goes on a cattle drive he gets trampled and almost dies. Can titles be accurate at least.

*Thank you to the publisher for this eARC.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Wrangler’s Ready Made Family is an adventurous, sweet, easy read. This was a pleasing western with heart. Lacy Williams spins a passionate, loving story with just a look of longing and tentative kisses.

Gil is a professional gambler with a tenuous future due to consumption. Susie is a widow with a little girl and a baby well on the way. She has been left destitute by her abusive, wastrel gambler of a husband. When trapped in a snowstorm with a baby coming, the couple who are strangers must forge a bond of trust.

Susie is a fragile, weary soul with a heart of gold. I could feel her fear and uncertainty concerning her burgeoning attraction towards Gil. I like how the author shows two different kinds of gamblers. Gil might gamble, but he has a good head on his shoulders and a giving heart. The yearning between the couple is heartfelt and palpable.

The plot was a straightforward, quick read. There was drama without the story becoming too angsty. I felt the birth scene was somewhat simplified and not realistic, but it wasn’t the center of the story, and the plot picked up. The attraction between the couple was fragile and slow-building; I felt it unfolded well. The Wrangler’s Ready Made Family is the fifteenth book in the Wind River Hearts series. However, it does work as a stand-alone novel. This book was a lovely, gentle read that I enjoyed immensely.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 stars, Marriage convenient for whom?

THE WRANGLERS READY-MADE FAMILY: WYOMING LEGACY
by Lacy Williams

This book is part of a series, I haven't read any other of the books, this one is a perfect standalone.

Susie and Gil meet on a stagecoach, traveling through Wyoming. Susie is a young, pregnant widow, with a toddler-aged girl. Gil is suffering from consumption, knowing that he will be dead all too soon. They get stranded in a small, remote cave after a stagecoach crash in the snow. Susie has her new baby, a son, with only Gil's help.

Gil finds out that Susie is all alone and wants to help her, asking for a marriage of convenience, so that she and her children will receive all of Gil's worldly belongings when he passes on.

This is an original, delightful novel. Highly recommend.

#lacywilliamsbooksllc #netgalley thoughtfully provided a complimentary copy of #thewranglersreadymadefamily I was under no obligation to post a review.

3.5 stars.
“The Wrangler’s Ready-Made Family: Wyoming Legacy”, by Lacy Williams, is a quick, enjoyable, sweet read with a wary heroine and a very caring and thoughtful hero.
I found the circumstances Susie and Gil meet enthralling, anticipating the characters’ resilience.
In the beginning, there’s a sadness about Gil that is hard to face. His acceptance of his fate and the need for human company and closeness were touching.
He’s a great hero, extremely protective of the heroine and the children but without the usual cockiness alphas show. The eagerness to learn and woo the heroine is endearing.
I also liked the tenderness with the children even if he’s not used to them.
Susie was not a very nice person sometimes – understandably so because of her disastrous marriage - but her mama bear instincts were admirable.
The way Gil’s disease was solved felt too schematic even if believable

To be honest I picked this book up while half asleep, but I have to admit I enjoyed it greatly! The characters had their own goals, plans and dreams. The plot was easy to follow and the romance was nice. While it didn't make my top ten, (I read dozens of books a year so thats not surprising) it was a good read and I would recommend it for others looking for a light read.

This was such a cute book! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it didn't have any *inappropriate* parts in it. I LOVE a marriage of convenience story and this was heartwarming and funny at times. I enjoyed that it had real life family dynamics and people who have made mistakes and how their relationships can be redeemed. I will definitely be reading more books by this author!

This was a really cute, sweet romance novel. Some of it was predictable of course, but some of it was not. This book is perfect for those times you want a sweet, easy read to just escape the world.

One thing that did puzzle me was the ending. This is an advance copy, so maybe it will be changed? But the last few chapters were about different characters. It felt like an abrupt. confusing change. Was it supposed to be leading up to the next book? I wasn't clear.

I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC. I will actually be looking for other novels from this author when I am in the mood for some light escapism.

This book started off really well. Susie was a sympathetic relatable character. I loved how the relationship developed between Gil and Susie and I especially loved how Gil cared for Susie's children.

The ending felt rushed and alot was left unresolved. I would have loved to have seen Gil reconnect with his family and I felt his illness resolved too easily. I was also surprised when the last chapter was actually not connected to the story taking place but was instead about another relative. This should be an excerpt or sneek peak.

This was an okay read, I would prefer a better conclusion but I would still recommend it.

Rather predictable. Puzzling items like use of telephone but taking cover in a cave during a snowstorm.
Builds on previous titles by author. Story line mixed as to main idea
