Under Pressure – Sara Driscoll

FBI Special Agent Meg Jennings and her K9 Hawk are back as she and her partner Brian & K9 Lacey are asked to assist in an ongoing smuggling case. Lacey, still recovering from a cougar attack in their last case, is just returning to service, as Meg and Brian find themselves both summoned to the Directors office to learn that they are being loaned to the Organized Crime Program in hopes of assisting the agency tasked with discovering and stopping the cartel responsible for the infiltration of blood or conflict diamonds into the US trade.

The Gov’t agencies have managed to infiltrate the cartel with an agent who has worked his way up and into the smuggling ring. A fellow agent, Kate, who has seen Hawk and Lacey in action on prior cases, is hoping that team can use the dogs to assist in tracking the individual making the diamond hand offs – learning their patterns and methods, and ultimately catching them in the act.

As Hawk and Lacey prove they are up to the task, key players in the are identified. A chance sighting almost leads to a nab of an enforcer by Meg & Hawk, bur he ultimately gets away, only to show up in the Megs home overnight with the intent to kill her. Only Hawk’s warning and her quick action allow her to prevail – and her assailant is taken into custody - but how did he know where to find her so quickly?

Meanwhile, Clay McCord, respected newspaper reporter and partner of Meg’s sister Cara, has also been researching the cartel on the sly, hoping for an expose. When he misses a pre-arranged 12 hour check in, Cara notifies Meg and her team quickly assemble in hopes of finding some idea of what has befallen him – but will they find him in time??

I absolutely love this series, and the K9’s who star in these pages, along with their handlers who love them. These are books that once picked up, cannot be put down - they’re that good! Sara Driscoll has a winning combination in this series, with all the action, suspense, and intrigue that you could want! Now…the long wait until the next is written begins…

I received this book as an Advance Reader Copy from #Netgalley & Kensington Press in exchange for an objective review.

I love everything about this series but was a bit disappointed at the story. The dogs were wonderful as usual but the action left me wanting.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

FBI agent Meg Jennings and her Labrador, Hawk, a search and rescue dog become involved in taking down a crime ring of villains selling blood diamonds. Also known as conflict diamonds, the sales of these diamonds are funneled into the coffers of warlords.

This is a thriller with elements of mystery.

I liked the premise and the story.

Highly recommended for fans of thrillers.

This is another action packed story featuring FBI agent Meg Jennings and her k9 partner Hawk.
This story has them working a case involving the Mafia moving illegal diamonds. Hawk once again will use his incredible tracking skills to follow the leads through the most crowded areas with the help of a deeply buried agent planted within the crime family.
There's no stopping these two trusting partners especially when things take a personal turn.

FBI agent Meg with her dog Lacey waiting, when she see’s.FBI agent Brian and his dog Hawk, both called in for a special assignment. Involving illegal gems, the drops happens after hours and in a private section with no cameras. Needing to find what jewelers were involved in this scheme. McCord a friend and a reporter information he found, proved to be invaluable, almost taking his life. A good plot with good characters, information on gems, and working with K9 dogs. Given ARC for Net Galley, and Kensington my voluntary review and my honest opinion

FBI agent Meg Jennings and K-9 partner Hawk, along with Brian Foster and his K-9 partner lacey are working with another government agency to uncover the people behind the smuggling of blood diamonds. They must take care not to expose the agent who has been working undercover. It gets more complicated when her friend, reporter Clay McCord, is working on a story that impacts her current mission.

Book 6 in the series - fast read - love the characters, especially the working K-9s.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC.

Meg, Hawk and the gang are back for their sixth adventure. This time they take on the mob and diamond smugglers. Any mystery where the dog is a partner is entertaining and educational. The relationship between an officer and their canine partner is built on love, discipline and goals.

Under Pressure by Sara Driscoll is another wonderful K-9 mystery! Under Pressure highlights the history and marketing of 'Blood Diamonds' or unethically acquired uncut diamonds. FBI handler Meg Jennings and her K-9 partner, Hawk, find themselves drawn into a case with her partner Brian Foster and his K-9 partner, Lacey.
Danger awaits meg and her partners as they try to locate and observe the handoff of the diamonds to the merchant. This proves to be a painful and frustrating maneuver due to the logistics where timing is the difference between failure and success. The whole cast of characters is like a visit with old friends. I enjoy this series!

Diamonds, the MOB, FBI, K-9’s … ingredients for a great story. Book 6 in the series and anther great one! What I love about this series is the information tidbits at the beginning of the chapters and research that is woven into the story line. Every book I learn something new and want to know more.
Meg (Hawk) and Brian (Lacey – who is thankfully healed from their last adventure) are loaned out to a team that investigates the Mob and “conflict” diamonds. A pretty straight forward assignment but not all goes as planned, and when McCord (investigator reporter and Meg’s sister partner) is investigating the same things get a bit messy.
Thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for an early read in exchange for my opinion.

In dog books, the canines always seem to ‘take the lead’. The human. Haracters fit Weill into a well-written story, but the dogs make it much more interesting.

I took me a bit longer to get into this book than it did for the previous books. But once the action started I couldn’t put it down. Meg and Brian with their dogs Hawk and Lacey are on loan to an FBI task force targeting the Philadelphia mob when the case gets personal. I enjoyed that the author explored using the dog’s talents for a task other than search and rescue.

This is an action packed story with well written characters. It does have some references to previous books in the series, but could be read as a stand alone.

This is a good and solid mystery novel. It’s extremely well written and the two main characters are very relatable and likeable. The subject of introducing dogs into the story is both fun and interesting. The mystery itself is very credible with lots of twists and turns interspersed throughout the novel that keeps the reader guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book to all mystery lovers and look forward to more from this author.

This is a good book with an amazing cast of characters and the dogs who take center stage. When Meg and Brian are brought in on a case against the MOB it gets dicey and very dangerous for those involved. Follow the characters as they navigate the new challenges and risk that become very personal.
