EXCELLENT RESOURCE! Dr. Max Anders has used his vast Biblical knowledge along with his excellent communication skills and provided readers with another excellent resource tool for growing in your faith as a Christian. 30 DAYS TO GROWING IN YOUR FAITH: Enrich Your Life in 15 Minutes A Day is one of the best discipleship programs I have ever seen in over 40 years of working with discipleship groups. Max writes Biblical truth in a very clear, concise manner and presents these lessons in 15 minute increments. The reader is encouraged to participate and through their repetition and responses is able to establish a firm foundation for a lifetime of spiritual growth. Dr. Anders believes repetition is gateway to transformed behavior. He used this same type of teaching method in his fantastic bestselling 30 DAYS TO UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE. He covers the following topics: The Importance of Gratitude The Mystery of Prayer The Challenge of Living Like Who We Have Become The Role of Pain and Suffering The Challenge of Discerning God's Will The Necessity of Mental Renewal The Importance of Scripture Spiritual Disciplines The Role of Trials The Power of Humility My favorite Chapter is Chapter 18: The Power of Trust and Obedience based on Hebrews 11:6. Dr. Anders writes, “If we do not obey God, it is because we do not believe him. And if we partially believe him, we partially obey him. The governing principle is this: in everything God asks of us, he does so to give something good to us or to keep some harm from us. Therefore, the shortest distance between us and the life we long for is total obedience to God.” I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I have pre-ordered a copy for my own library.

I read and reviewed Max Anders' book ‘30 'Days to Understanding the Bible’ a few years ago. I was intrigued by the idea of committing 15 minutes a day to learn the Scriptures. The greater appeal of this book is the discussion of well-tried practical applications of the Bible. The proposals are well-phrased, the directions are plain, and the text is clear and simple.
Anders’ premise is "If something is important to you it has to be repeated till it changes you." This process of repetition is an essential part of his approach. I did not expect the scope of his directives. It seems that every aspect of spiritual growth finds its way onto the pages of this book. The exposition on Mental Renewal was especially challenging. Even in the more familiar areas of growth there are unique insights.
The author claims it is crucial that believers live with an eternal perspective. (Chapter 2) In this context Christians must recall evidences for God’s existence, which are readily apparent, and not always argue about proofs. "When you leave the laboratory where you were looking for proof, and go to the courtroom looking for evidence, the ground shifts dramatically." Well-said.
I was at first skeptical of the last chapter on Humanitarianism. Some debates on this topic deteriorate quickly. It is not usually addressed in these kinds of books. I found the section to be helpful.
The book will appeal to new believers, just getting started in the Christian walk. Bible teachers will appreciate the chapter reviews with blanks that allow for memory stretching. Mature believers and pastors may benefit from the fresh expressions of well-known principles.

The well-known author and Bible scholar Max Anders has produced another helpful and encouraging resource for Christians with 30 Days to Growing in Your Faith. Using the same format he used in the classic work, 30 Days to Understanding Your Bible, this present book consists of 30 short chapters meant to be read in 15 minutes or less and to read one chapter each day for better retention of the material.

Anders directs this book to both newer believers and more seasoned disciples of Jesus, who might feel that their spiritual lives have stagnated or lack passion and energy. This volume builds its knowledge base for the reader in three parts: First, the person has certain fundamental truths they must know to be a Christian. Second, the person takes this knowledge they have gained about God and themselves to be the person God wants them to be. Third, the person is then in the position to live out God's plan and do the things He has called them to do.

As a skilled seminary professor, Anders uses many tools such as repetition, fill-in-the-blanks, and thought-provoking questions to help the reader more fully engage with the content covered in the book. And he covers a wide range of issues that every Christian faces in their spiritual growth, such as the battle between the inner man and the outer man, renewing the mind, trials and suffering, self-discipline, prayer, trusting God, and discerning God's will. This resource is one that a reader will actively work with and will want to return to multiple times. Highly recommended!

This book appealed to me because I am a bit of a DIYer when it comes to Bible Study. I am also a forever student of the Bible and what believer wouldn’t want to grow their faith? So, everything about this book drew me in. I can honestly say that I was not disappointed and greatly encouraged in my faith from reading this book. I have been a believer for over 60 years. I loved that this book challenged me to allow my faith to grow!

My experience with this book was that it reminded me, challenged me, and lead me to develop a more eternal perspective while living in this temporal world. In chapter 3 I was reminded to live with the end in mind! In chapter 4 the author tells us that it’s our outer man that sins, but the inner man is righteous. I appreciated how he developed that idea over the next couple of chapters. I so agreed in Chapter 6 that what we put into our minds is what we become. So many more truths waiting for you to discover.

I feel this book will appeal to those who prefer learning with repetition and filling in the blanks. This really appeals to my mode of learning. It is set up to be worked through in 30 days (my preferred method to build on the principles while the previous days discussion is still fresh on my mind, and it helps keeps me on task). However, a person could work through it as it works best for you. It can be done as an individual or in a group. Each chapter has a review, discussion, and decision points. Oh, and did I mention repetition?

It is my opinion that this book is an excellent resource for the new believer or a seasoned believer, so I feel it has wide appeal. I liked how the book is a snapshot of Faith in 30 days, but it is also chock full of lots of resources to take your study deeper. Trust me, you will WANT to go deeper!

In 30 Days to Growing in Your Faith Max Anders not only shares Biblical concepts but also uses a format to help plant these concepts deep into our hearts and lives. The book combines reading, repetition, fill in the blank statements,  a central passage/Scripture daily, and questions (thought/discussion  and decision/application) in each chapter to actively engage the reader.
Max divides his book into 3 sections:
Know, Be, and Do. He writes in his book
" As a complete Christian, you need to:
• Know what you need to know
• Become what you need to be
• Do what you need to do"
Each section has 10 chapters as you work your way from knowing about Christian life to becoming a more mature Christian to living out a Christian life through helping others and sharing God's Word.
I would suggest reading only one chapter daily, using this as a devotional or Bible study, so you can read slowly and focus on just one concept for that day. You can do further study or research along with the daily chapter if you struggle with the concept or just want to learn more. The daily central passage/ Scripture can be used as a focus verse for the day and memory verses which you can add to as you progress through the book. I would recommend the print format over the digital as I found it a little difficult to do the digital format on my phone but may be easier on a larger screen. You can do the fill in the blank statements and questions in the printed copy easier than a digital copy, in my opinion. You can use a notebook or journal to write out the fill in the blank statements, take notes or answer questions as you read.
I did enjoy the book and feel that it is a useful resource to use in growing my faith and applying to my life. I will be rereading Max's book at a slower pace, focusing on one chapter a day to more fully grasp and digest the Biblical concepts and information from each chapter along with answering the questions. I would recommend this book to people searching on what a Christian life is about, for new Christian people, and even for a person who has been a Christian for awhile who wants to experience spiritual growth. Max takes you through the progress of becoming a Christian to transforming your life and living out God's Word daily. Pick up a copy today to start planting and growing a deeper faith. I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
