This story merges traditional Japanese mythology with the modern western world. Twelve generals who guard the zodiac points have disappeared, leaving a samurai to restore order -- if only he can restore his own memory. The story is interesting although not entirely coherent. The art, on the other hand, is dazzling. The volume is worth collecting if only for the artwork. With time and rereading, it might even be possible to get a grip on the story.
