Such a cute story for this time of year. A lovely light-hearted read. Warms my heart.
This was a magical book! I loved every minute of it and wanted to crawl inside and stay there.
Picture Perfect is very well written. Great plot and character dynamics. Great addition to the series. I recommend this book.
This book was steamy, romantic with a slight thrilling twist. An easy, enjoyable read, I didn’t even realise how quickly I was getting through the book because I couldn’t stop reading!
Picture Perfect is the fourth book in the Peak Valley Forever series. This was a new-to-me author, but I had no trouble reading the book as a stand-alone. The couples from the previous book were part of it but the author provided enough details, so it was not hard to catch up. It was well written, easy to read, and paced perfectly. It was a small-town romance with all the charm and big families.
Hazel had crushed on Jax all through high school but knew he was out of her league. Now she has returned to Peak Valley to be near her mother and Warren, her half-brother. She is wary of Jax’s attention because she is a forever kind of girl and Jax wasn’t into commitments. Jax realized that Hazel was different from the women in his past. She wasn’t chasing after him instead she kept running away from him. Relationships were new to him, but he wanted it all with Hazel.
I loved how the Colson family embraced Hazel and her family into their family. They were there to offer support and comfort when needed. The chemistry between Hazel and Jax could be felt right away but watching them become friends and slowly further their relationship was wonderful. This was an interesting book with some intrigue and found friendships. I would recommend it.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a good slow burn, somewhat suspenseful romance. The plot was really interesting and I loved Hazel and Jax’s relationship. Usually I have a hard time with slow burns, because I just want them to kiss already, however I loved the banter and relationships between all the characters in both families that it made me less antsy. This was my first book, in this series to read and I am for sure going to read the rest now.
This book is about two very complex characters who find love when they least expect to. Hazel Wood is a graphics artist who moved back to Peak Valley to be closer to her sick mother and maybe reconnect with her half-brother Sheriff Warren McKnight. She thought it would be a quiet life until Jax Colson blew into her life. Jax Colson isn’t used to being blown off, but Hazel has something he needs. When he gets the opportunity to twist her arm he jumps on it. Only their new partnership put a target on her head. The two have to put their differences aside and work together or neither will survive what evil lurks in the shadows.
First of all, the cover!!!! It drew me in right away. I am usually not a huge fan of romantic suspense books, but this one pleasantly surprised me. This was my first time reading Amanda Lee Dixon's books and I will definitely be checking out more of her books. I fell in love with broody and confident Jax and also found pieces of myself in Hazel. The storyline itself was really interesting and my only complaint is that I wish the book was longer. I wish we would have been able to see more of the build up of their relationship because during some parts it felt rushed. Overall, I would give this 4/5 stars because the plot was really interesting and I am a sucker for a man who will do anything to ensure his girl won't get hurt. If you're looking for a quick read or pick me up, this book is it! I was able to finish it in a few hours and get out of the reading slump I have been in.
****I was given this ARC by Netgalley****
A really good story that started with a bang. A shooting which introduces us to two enemies turned friends, who then have to work together to find the person trying to exact ‘an eye for an eye’ on their families. But it’s also a romance, Hazel returns to her home town to be nearer her mum before her alzimer’s worsens, when she runs into her 9ld crush playboy Jax. He doesn’t remember her but pursues her relentlessly. There are some really bad dates for Hazel with other men before she admits that Jax is the one for her. A great mix of characters and plots which would lend to a series following other characters and their stories.
This book is a sit back with your feet up and enjoy visiting Peak Valley and the Colson family again in the fourth book in the Peak Valley Forever series. This book is the story of Jax the youngest brother who has a reputation of being a playboy, prankster and a wanderer. Hazel is quiet, shy and thought to be a bit of a nerd. Both have recently returned to Peak Valley to be close to family and start businesses. Hazel is the photographer at Jax's brothers wedding and Jax immediately takes notice of Hazel not remembering her from school. Hazel definitely remembers Jax being her high school crush along with his reputation and wants nothing to do with him.
This was a fun read as the Colson's are a very interesting family and Burn's is a colorful character only adding interest to the story.
4.5 stars
I love Burns! The Colson brothers with their women are special as well, and Emily wins the junior set. Add to it all the small-town crazy, a touch of suspense, great banter, with a slow burn love story.
Jax has come to Hazel’s rescue more than once since they crossed paths again at his brother’s wedding. She had a crush on him in their younger days, but she is ready to settle down, and he is full of wanderlust.
Jax is busy with his new brewery, but needs a graphic designer who gets him and his brand. Can he convince Hazel to take the job? Will Hazel’s overprotective brother let Jax ask her out?
I am excited to read more in this series. So far, I think this is the best book!
I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.
4*
Jax spots Hazel at his brothers wedding and is instantly struck by her, something is familiar about her.
When Hazel avoids him he's even more determined to get answers.
Hazel has returned to Peak valley to be near her mother and brother. She remembers Jax and her younger crush but is determined to keep away.
I loved the banter between the families and laughed at the antic of them.
A lovely story and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.
Small Town Crazy!!
Hazel moves back to Peak Valley to help care for her mother.
Jax Colson never even looked her way in high school. Now he is everywhere she goes and wants to date her. He is the jokester of the family. One and done but Hazel is different.
This is a super slow burn love story with a touch of suspense thrown in
“She’s a keeper, but I already told you that.” Burns points his beer at Hazel. “Don’t screw it up.”
I love the Colson family and Burns is still my favorite although he was a little more subdued in this book.
Emily was a hoot!!
“Mom said if Uncle Jax and Aunt Hazel say its okay to go on a date with them, I could.” Emily slaps her little hands on her hips and cocks it out with a challenging grin on her face. “That means I can date.”
“I will eat any boy you try to date.” “Will not! You’re a good giant.”
I really hope we get to see a nicer side of Warren and he gets his own HEA!!
