This was a sweet book in general, And the premise was different, but as a romance it missed the most important part, the chemistry. An ok read that could be pushed further.

Cute rom-com novel. Savannah is an editor at a publishing company and she secretly is writing a romance novel. She accidentally leaves her manuscript in the Book Nook. After she retrieves it, she finds there are notes written on the side of the margins. She goes on the defensive when she sees the criticism. As she continues, she does start to pour her heart into the mysterious editor for her book and falls in love with the mystery person.

What I truly appreciate was how this novel gave a good look at how the publishing world works from development to the actual manufacturing to the books hitting the stage for authors to meet their public. It was very interesting.

That said, what I did not care for is Savannah's family dynamics. Rule #1 - it is not acceptable to date one's ex. It is just wrong on so many levels. Then Rule #2 - to read the family is all, "Oh get over it," attitude just made my blood boil. Talk about betrayal by those closest to you. Whatever happened to "Blood is thicker than water?!" Thankfully there's a certain man who tells her, that her family and not her is in the wrong. I just couldn't get over that.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Books for sharing this e-arc with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This was such an adorably charming romance. I love any book centered around books and this one was absolutely delightful. The characters felt real, as did their connection, and it was a fun, fast read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson was such a fun premise, with a bookish setting and a fun, unique premise that was quick and easy to read. I did find that it took a bit long to get into the actual margin note part of the story. When we did finally get those notes, it was a smaller portion of the plot than I was hoping for. While I really enjoyed our two main characters and the interactions we did have, by the end I felt there were a a bit too many subplots going on (i.e., everything with Ferris) and not enough of the romance. Overall - cute and enjoyable, but not a new favorite.

Thank you to the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to love this. I truly did. But as much as I can usually enjoy a rom-com, something about this was just too much.

It reads like a Hallmark movie. Which I’m sure is something that will appeal to loads of readers. Sadly, it’s just not for me.

3.5 stars. A cute story. I thought I had reviewed it already, but I guess not. I guess it wasn't that memorable, as I can't recall many details. It was a fun, quick read.

I loved this book! I found the concept of the mystery editor really compelling and I love when people get to know one another in unique ways. A great book for people who prefer a closed door romance.

It's a cute story. Reminiscent of You've Got Mail or Sleepless in Seattle. Very PG, with just two non descript kisses throughout the whole book.
I just wanted more for a marketed adult romance read.

Meet Me In The Margins by Melissa Ferguson

3.5/5 🌟

This was a fabulous quick rom com vibe. I think I wanted a bit more spice but it was certainly a unique plot and the characters were human which grounds the whole book.

This book is about an aspiring writer, and her complicated life balancing her job as a publisher, love life, and family all while tangled in some romantic feels for her mystery ghost editor. They send written notes on her manuscript about how to sell it. She has her guesses as to who it could be along the way but we don’t find out until the end. We also meet some supporting characters in her mean bff, over active prefect sister engaged to her ex bf, and her new boss the attractive son the company’s CEO.

I really liked the story in a story, her writing made me want to read the full manuscript she was writing too. The romance part was a bit flat but the real relatable get to you someone as a friend then want to date was spot on. Friends are always the best lovers.
No spoilers but it is a happy ending!

This book had such a unique plot line that I just had to read it. I was not disappointed. Savannah was the most relatable character. Hardworking, lovable, and committed to her job. I really loved the idea of her writing her own book and hoping to get it published. The whole idea of a mystery editor helping her write was amazing and absolutely well done by the author! Will was such a great male lead in this book and I loved the chemistry between Savannah and him. I will definitely be re-reading this book soon and look forward to reading more from this author!

Savannah Cade is a book editor for a publisher who would never publish the kind of book Savannah is secretly writing- a romance. When Savannah leaves her manuscript at her secret writing desk someone begins making edits and suggestions. As notes are left back and forth Savannah finds herself falling for the mystery editor- but who could it be? And will she have the courage to follow her heart and write her story?

I loved this book about a book. A fresh and interesting angle for a romance novel where the main character works for a publishing house and wants to be a published author herself. I loved the back and forth of the notes within the margins of the manuscript and it kept you guessing about what was going to happen next.

Any book about books or the book industry immediately draws me in! Savannah is an editor who is secretly writing a book! The problem is she works for a snobbish publisher who disapproves of romance stories! When she is almost discovered, she hides her manuscript in a secret room in her publisher’s building. But soon, someone starts editing her book, writing suggestions in the margins! Before she realizes it, Savannah is falling for this unknown person!

What I loved:
🌷The banter between the main characters
🌷The dedication to family both main characters have
🌷The often hilarious situations Savannah finds herself in
🌷The conclusion .

My thanks to NetGalley and @thomasnelson for my digital copy. My thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed this book! It started out a little slow for me and was afraid it would be for womens fiction with the whole sister and ex boyfriend storyline but I was surprisingly delighted by this book! I really enjoyed the world set in a publishing house and the love between the margins that we got to see grow throughout the book! I loved their encounters and thought the banter and story line were great!

This was an adorable, enjoyable super clean romance with great bookish aspects. But it was also completely forgettable. The romance was odd, Savannah and the guy barely interacted and it was a major slow-burn. Savannah essentially falls in love with a guy through writing, and there isn't much of a connection shown between them. Someone being a good editor doesn't make them a love interest. I wanted to see the notes they write in the margins, but instead that's largely kept off the page. I found Savannah's sister and her fiancé incredibly annoying, and the fact that Savannah previously dated her sister's now fiancé is just absurd! It wouldn't happen in real life. There are some comedic moments at least. I loved the ARC room, I wanted that and the old house that the publishing firm was in to be real and nearby for me to visit. Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing for the advanced e-copy of this.

This was a cute, fun and enjoyable rom com. The pacing was great, the story was unique {love me a bookish storyline!} and the characters were likable/relatable. I was also satisfied with the ending. Glad I had the opportunity to read this.

This book was absolutely adorable. I really did like the main characters and their interactions. I did find it a bit hard to believe that the two never ran into each other in the Book Nook, and the addition of other characters affecting their story was also a little implausible; but, sometimes a story is sweet and you're rooting for them, so, it's not a make-or-break type thing. I enjoyed all the goings-on at a publishing house as I've worked in the book industry for a few years now, and the descriptions of the old building with its wallpaper and flooring were so realistic that I could feel myself walking the same hallways. All in all, it was a short, sweet, fun, lovely, light read. Would recommend.
