Full of deep emotion, drama and beautiful, yet haunting writing even though I did think it was a little slow-paced at times, it was nothing too much that I couldn't finish. This is a must-read for any historical fiction fan, I will be reading more from Ros Rendle in the future!
This was a decent read. It had good details and was well written but I just struggled to get into it.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the chance to read this book.
It was a book of the genre I generally like but it took me a long time to get into the book and engage with the characters.
In fact I kept giving up on it and going back - most unlike me
It documents the horror of WW1 well and is obviously well researched.
Overall an enjoyable read
A romantic saga set in the period of WW1 takes us between England and France. It covers the emotional turmoil faced by those whose loved ones ventured into the unknown. A brilliant story of sisters with different outlooks on life dealing with their hopes and fears and those that they love and care for.
How family is tested and decisions made can bring those together, whilst tearing others apart. A poignant storyline with great description and visuality of the period. Well worth reading. Thank you #Netgalley for letting me read this book.
I thought this was an interesting historical fiction about WWI. At first I was not sure I felt about the book but towards the end I started to really like it. This was a duel point of views between Rose and her sister Delphi and a family friend Michael. I thought Rose was a great character and I liked reading about how before the war she was going to college and learning a lot, but then when the war hits she goes back home and tries to help. Then we have Delphi who at first I did not like. She was the middle child who just wants a husband and tries to steal Michael from her sister Rose. As the book goes on she gets better once she joins the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps. I liked how this story ends and can not wait to read more from Ros Rendle.
I have never read anything by this author before, and was excited to learn that it is part of a series! 'Sisters at War' was' a dramatic, heart-wrenching novel set during WW1.The author did a fabulous job of causing the reader to experience the horror everyone on the front lines experienced. The characters are well drawn and I followed these characters with my heart in my throat as their world is torn apart and they try to stay human. Romance, drama, and war combine to make this a moving read.

SISTERS AT WAR is the first novel in the Strong Family Historical Saga by ROS RENDLE. the story takes place during the first world war and tells us what horrors went on at that time and the way the various characters deal with what is thrown at them and the life changing choices some of them make. There is heartache, fraternal jealousy, courage and of course love.
The author gives us much detail of what happened in this dreadful time in history and she also gives us insight into the characters' emotions.
It is an interesting read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Sapere Books. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
I really do not know what to say about this book. It was a sweet romance. It was more accurate about how things were under the ww1. All the gore and heartache. All the innocent young people dying. But It has been told before.
Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion
