Thanks to Tor and NetGalley for this eARC!
I love this series and I truly did enjoy this entry! We get to go to the OTHER school and we get to see horse girl Reagan again. Plus our BEST mermaid Cora. However, I will say that it is getting more frustrating that these are novellas! I would loveeeee more pages of all of them, but this one felt like it needed more space to introduce its new setting and to have a quest.
Will I stop reading them? OF COURSE NOT! I just wish each story had a little more room to breathe.
This series never disappoints and it's so satisfying to finally get a Cora-focused story! Where the Drowned Girls Go explores shared trauma and the difference between heroism and recklessness with McGuire's trademark lilting prose. No matter which door we go through in this series, I am always left wanting more.
*Thank you to Tor publishing,Seanan McGuire, and Netgalley for a EARC of "Where The Drowned Girls Go" in exchange for an honest review*
I always love return to the Wayward Children series because there's something really comforting about it. I liked that in this book, we got to see a school that is very much the opposite of Miss Elenor's. The Anti-Magic school was scary and depressing.
