Positive Thinking…
An inspirational little tome and a practical guide. How to discover your own inner latent powers and how to use them in a positive way. Plenty of content and exercises, often of the visualisation method and of positive thinking.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A compelling and inspirational book, fun and well-written. I am definitely having a go of putting Uri's ideas into practice.
Self-improvement titles are not my usual read and Uri Geller is someone who divides opinion. Some think he’s a true psychic, some not. So I picked this up on a whim, not exactly sure what I was going to get.
I actually found this title quite inspirational. You don’t have to believe in the author’s claimed psychic powers to benefit from this title, a lot of the content involved visualisation techniques and positive thinking methods which are helpful and effective.
This is a short book, but an engaging one, and Geller has a good writing style which kept me turning the pages.
Use Your Psychic Powers to Have It All is a high level guidebook for beginners looking to use mind power to improve their life. It is also part biographical describing some of the events and the general background to Uri Gellers life. It is a bit self justifying but that is understandable due to the amount of controversy and doubters that have followed him. While I do believe in the power of the mind, and I think Uri is a good person, this book is a bit too high level for me. I didn't like all the quizzes and would have like the information and instruction to be a bit more in debt. I do think it is a good introductory book for beginners though and it is a good starting point for finding out more.
Absolutely brilliant book. Far from being born rich, Uri Geller grew up in a modest household, or to quote him, a humble background, and since then has succeeded both in material terms and in psychic terms mixing with famous artists and rock stars on the way to his amazing success, and he has had his fair share of trials and tribulations to boot. In the meantime he has written many books, and this is an excellent one. In this book he does his best to share his knowledge with the general reader, and in my case, mainly succeeds. I would, therefore, recommend this book highly.
Uri Geller has always split opinion, and you may think that this book is merely an exercise in self-aggrandisement, and yes, it does come across like that at times, but I am reliably informed by a friend who has actually spoken to him that Uri is actually a really nice guy. He has always been an ardent promoter of peace, no mean feat for a man from a country which is one of the least peaceful on earth, so he deserves our respect in that sense, at least.
This book is about how we can discover, use and develop the latent psi-powers that Geller believes exist within everyone in order to achieve our goals in life.
In the first chapter Uri recounts his early life and how he discovered his psychic powers. He also gives example of psychic phenomena, created both by himself and others. Each chapter includes fun exercises and personality quizzes you can do at home to determine your ability to accept and use psychic powers. He suggests keeping a diary of dreams and details how to recognise psychic events that may occur around us. There are also chapters on using the “Psi Force” to improve your love life, relationships and career, how to be healthier and happier etc.
In short, it’s all about being positive. You may not believe Uri Geller, (I’m not even sure if I always do) but he does advocate a decent way of living and above all else, he is a really nice guy and a positive force for good.
