I like Bob Odenkirk, but for some reason I could not get into his book. I think it's well written, so that is not the issue...don't know why (shrug)
Picked this up because I'm a fan of Mr. Odenkirk and I wanted to learn more about him. The book, however, focuses on his experiences in the entertainment industry thus far and he shares little about his personal life. It was interesting to learn about the processes but hose looking to learn more about the actor will be disappointed.
A memoir one can "hear" in the author's voice when reading it the old-fashioned way, but it's one I will circle back to and listen to the audiobook if the author reads it himself. (Which rarely happens for me.) That said, what a treat from an artist whose work has been a part of my pop culture existence for most of my adult life now--the SNL stuff is some of the finest I've read, almost reportorial in its detail, and all the show business nuts and bolts revealed along the way is fascinating. And, hell yeah: Mr Show. I started reading this at bedtime and woke up a few hours later to the news of the author's health scare, which may have added a bonus layer of appreciation for the book and its author.
