I learnt so much from this book! Feminism and women's health have always been something that has been hidden for generations. Do you know who really invented the speculum? A french woman without a medical degree.
This book was very informative and an easy read!! I really appreciated the graphics. It was a fun read with a lot of useful information. I will definitely be recommending this to fellow women.
I'm so sorry - I only had this title as an acsm file, and it expired before I got around to reading it. My apologies!
I have given a 5-star rating by way of apology, and because I can't Give Feedback without giving a star rating.
Apologies again, and best of luck with your publications!

This was a very fun book, with cool helpful graphics, lots of fun facts and debunks of fake facts about Vaginas. It also has great detailed info, getting a “how to guide” feel to it at times (positive).
I sometimes found that it lacked a little bit of depth, scientifically, for what i wanted (but i am a scientist in the biomedical field, so...). This might be a benefit for some people! I read this close to This is How You Vagina by Dr N Williams, which goes more into scientific depth, if you’re looking for that.
Now I really feel this book takes the cake due to the amazing inclusivity! As a queer woman/person, I often feel like a footnote in these issues, so it was quite refreshing to read this (and i think it’s even more groundbreaking for the trans community!).
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.
I liked this book a lot. This book was visually pleasing and so well-informed. It covered a range of topics, all about female health -"down there".
The book is divided into different parts each section dedicated to the particular aspect of our health, be it periods or hygiene. What I liked the most about this book was how simple it was. It explained each part perfectly and carefully.
This book was very easy to read and full of useful information. It tackles lots of different topics in short, bite-size chunks. It doesn't use euphemisms or shy away from important topics which I really appreciated.
I was pleased to see that the book is aimed at all people with vaginas, not just cis women. However, although it has good intentions, there are some slip-ups along the way where language wasn't as inclusive as intended. Overall though, this is a great book and will hopefully be edited slightly in future print runs.
Let's talk about down there is a fantastic resource for teens and grown women. There are many questions we need answered, but a typical Google search brings up too much information which can be overwhelming. This book answered all those questions in a straight forward and concise format. Her responses were all empathetic and helpful. Ibalsobloved the organization of this book. I read it all straight through because I have been genuinely interested in women's health lately. However, it is easy to find specific topics if you just want to skim through to what information is of interest to you.
This book is very helpful for both teens and adults, it’s simple to understand and to remember the basic important information, I really liked it and I would recommend it to young women.
I seriously wish I'd had this book as a teenager!!
Ever had questions about your period or body that you didn't dare to ask? The answer will probably be in here. Even reading it now at age 25 I still learned way more than I was expecting to, clearly we do not get taught enough about how our bodies work. It's also a really inclusive book and the short chapters make it easy to read. Or if you just have one specific thing you want to know, it's quick and easy to find the answer.
I’ve just finished this amazing and informative book. First off thank you to NetGalley. Secondly thank you Dr Lincoln for proving everyone with a book that should be passed out in schools. While I’m certainly not the target demographic it doesn’t mean that I can read it and continue to keep myself up to date in case such questions come up with my nieces. Being educated on your own body is wildly important, being able to feel comfortable talking about topics like this is something we should all strive for. This book was laid out perfectly, got to the point and provided wonderful information. Highly recommend.
We have needed approachable, accessible, engaging and easy to understand informative guides to intimate healthcare for decades. Dr. Lincoln provides that with her new book and she does it without shame, embarrassment or stigmatization. This is an absolute must have.
I was given a free copy of this e-book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have been following Dr. Lincoln on TikTok so when it was announced that she was releasing a book I knew I had to grab it! To make it even better, it was available as a Read Now option. So thank you for the advanced copy in exchange of an honest review.
I found this very engaging and relatable. It was definitely written with a young adult/20s/30s age range in mind. It really appealed to these generations. I felt like I was learning all about the things that you would never want to ask your parents or your own doctor.
Dr. Lincoln makes it a habit to write in a way that feels safe, secure, and free of judgment and embarrassment. I highly recommend this as a book for those girls finishing up high school and exploring their 20s. I am almost 30 and felt so empowered and educated reading this book.
Thank you to the author, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This well-written, informative and no-nonsense book, written in a Q & A format, answers questions most pre-teens, teens and young adults will have about their body and their sexuality. I loved the fact that it was inclusive, never talked down to the reader and worked hard to counteract the sadly pervasive influence of shame and purity culture. Not much is included for older readers, but that is a minor failing as they are obviously not the target audience.
This book was the book i needed when i started my period at 11 before my friendship group. I learnt so many new facts that i wasn’t even aware of! The illustrations were spot on & super helpful. I’ll be recommending this to so many people!
I loved this book! I wish this book had been written 25 years ago as it would have been a really useful guide when I was a teenage girl. And even as an almost 38-year old, I found some helpful information about things that I didn't realize I was curious about. Having a daughter, and having gone through some of the books already out there about the female body, this will be the book that I recommend above all others.
This is such a well-done and wonderful book! I certainly wish a resource like this existed when I was a teen (although there was still plenty for me to learn as an adult). Very easy-to-understand, well-written and entertaining with lots of color and illustrations. I highly recommend!
Thank you, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley, for a digital ARC!
This book was great. Especially loved the graphics. Was very reader friendly and great for teens and adults alike. Great gift.
SERIOUSLY where was this book when I turned 13.. It is so easy to read and it doesn't "fluff"anything up. I think its a great book for women of any age, I feel liked I learned more about my body in the time that I read this book than in all 21 years of my life. I feel like it answered any question I ever had or pondered.. Also the illustrations are really great and insightful, but also realistic, and inclusive. I will definitely recommend to friends to take a read and I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this Arc!
Thank you Jennifer, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the digital arc of this book. I can't say how much I appreciate, I got to read this insightful piece.
I found this book pretty picturesque. Narration is marvelously natural and her writing felt like I was listening to her on TikTok. Jennifer's encouraging words were something that felt gentle and empowering. The information detailed, briefly on point, really helped me assimilate facts I wasn't aware of.
This is a must have for those who feel lost or aren't sure who to ask. I will definitely recommend this book.
A book that ive enjoyed, found useful and i recommend,to all the women out there.
I was already following on social media dr.jennifer,so when I've seen the chance to review her book i didn't hesitate at all.
Thank you for the chance.
I was surprised by the ease everything she explained, honestly i wish on my days thre was a really straightforward and uncomplicated web resource, as back then you could get a headache trying to get some information.
I'll give 5 star and i really want this book to be a help for everyone out there.
