This story has a TV producer wanting to grab her own spot in home renovation and to do so she feels she needs to spice things up and do it differently than what is already out there. She decides to add someone to the spot she already has. Levi Chance of Chance Brothers construction is good for one spot since Levi is already working for them and the producer knows he won't turn her down since they are his biggest client. To fill the second spot she goes after Marisa Sanchez who has taken over her grandfather's construction business and is also on youtube.
When the two begin to work together the sparks fly on the screen and off they must keep it closed so they both will still have a job. The longer that they work together the more tension builds between them. There is another part of a twist to the story that is reviled and it turns out to maybe ruin Marisa’s career before it starts. What will happen? Read this wonderful story to find out. Good characters along with a good story.
I had never read a book by this author before and thought I was missing out only to find out that this was her first book and what a book it is. I give it all the thumbs way up because it was good and consistent. A rarity with a first book and a the first in a series.
Renovated: A Workplace Romance by Nikki Kiley is the perfect romance for anyone who’s a fan of home renovation shows. With a tension filled backstory that guides Marisa in her life choices, and an enormous sense of family/work responsibility that motivates Levi, this couples’ HEA journey hits a few rough spots, and obstacles before coming to fruition.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book! The title and this beautiful cover drew me in and i was excited to read this book! I will be recommending this book to others for readers advisory.
This was very quick an easy read. A little bit of smut, funny and romance. Marisa and Levi were interesting and cute, though i felt that the chemistry was a bit off, maybe it was because they fell for each other so quickly and all.
Saldy this book didn‘t do it for me. I had to dnf it after only 20% because I just couldn‘t get into the story and characters which is very very unusual for me.
This story follows Marisa and Levi, who are both casted as the leads for a new home renovation show on an HGTV-like network. They have never met before, but sparks fly as they begin to work together, despite them not being allowed to have a romantic relationship due to their contract.
This was a very cute read! I like how this story was fun and lighthearted while still being able to dive into more serious topics. There was great Latinx representation and I enjoyed the conversations surrounding mental health. I wish there was a bit more character development so I could fall even more in love with Marisa and Levi, but it was still a very enjoyable debut!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I know fake couples is kind of an over-used trope in the romance world, but I think this one was a great contribution to the genre. I really enjoyed it from start to finish!
Renovated by Nikki Kiley had my name all over it from the first moment I read the book synopsis. I'm all about home renovation shows on HGTV and this book felt like a behind the scenes look at some of these shows. Marissa is preparing a new show for the Home Design Network after taking over her grandfather's construction business. Levi, who typically works with his brother, has been asked by the network to cohost a show with Marissa. While he is not into the idea, feelings begin to change. Can two cohosts run a show while hiding a relationship? This book was fun and flirty and I really enjoyed the read!
Every now and then, I like to try out new authors. And this cover of Nikki certainly caught my eye!
And it’s about a woman, in charge of a construction company, who is also a successful vlogger. Well, count me in! I loved Marisa, a strong and independent woman, who can certainly hold her own in a men’s world. From personal experience I know how hard it can be for a woman in a men’s world, so it is nice to read about it.
Levi is a cute guy. Forced too young into a father role for his younger brothers, but loyal to a fault. The chemistry he and Marisa have is off the charts. But there is so much more than meets the eye in this story and I loved the extra background stories on both Marisa as the Chance family. And now I’m of course very curious about the story of Dale and Rebecca. I’ll keep my eye out for Restored! Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Renovated is the first book in the new Chance Brothers series by Nikki Kiley. This was a new-to-me author and I really enjoyed getting to read this book. I would never have guessed she was new to writing. I really liked the uniqueness of a home improvement show leading to a romance. The main characters were charming, likable, and had many layers. Having to work together helped them to better understand each other and the tension and chemistry between them was red-hot. I loved meeting all the side characters and hope to see them in future books. I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you for allowing me to review and read this.
I absolutely LOVED Levi and marissa. What a fun easy read! I highly recommend because I’ll definitely be rereading as well as reading the others in this series. I think I found a new author to love.
I received Renovated: A Small Town Workplace Romance for free in exchange for an honest review. It was an enjoyable read. I look foward to reading something more from her in the future.
3.5 Stars
This was such a great read. The love, chemistry, trust and romance between Marisa and Levi was swoon worthy. The fact that they shared such a beautiful bond with each other and even with their respective families was really heartwarming. Both of them were ready to do anything for their families and it was so pure. The setting, side characters, plot and storyline were all very interesting to read. The setting of construction workers was quite unique and fun to read. The way Levi took care of Marisa is everything I live for and it was so so beautiful .
I cannot wait to read more about the Chance Brothers.
Thank you so much Net Galley for the review copy.

4.5 stars - Renovated is a cute, sexy, and sometimes serious contemporary romance. I love it when I get to read well-written multi-cultural romances! The heroine is a breath of fresh air. No, life hasn't been perfect for her, in fact, it was tragic. Yet, she’s thriving. She’s a queen at making lemonades out of lemons and paying it forward. The hero is sexy, loyal and just the right amount of rough around the edges. I really enjoyed this read. I hope the brothers all get their own HEA!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was amazing. I love renovation and house flipping shows, so this was a great niche romance for that. Marisa and Levi had fantastic chemistry as co-hosts as well as lovers. The characters were believable and real. The trauma and problems were heart wrenching. The characters were relatable. There are five more brothers, so this will be a fantastic series. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Nice cover and the blurb promises a workplace romance.
Marisa gets the chance to work for a tv show, a renovation show, but has to work with rival Levi. Both have reservations, but soon sparks fly... even when there is a clause in their contract..
I do think there is a bit too much going on in the story. I could have been toned down a bit, plotwise.
But overall it was a nicely written good romance with likable characters!
First thing I adored about this book was that it took no time to actually get into. Once I started reading I was hooked! An awesome small town romance with a little sprinkle of enemies to lovers -esque. This book seriosuly kept me on my toes and I am happy to recommend to all of my romance lovers out there! Thank you to NetGalley, Nikki Kiley, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this Arc!
For the most part, I enjoyed this book, the story was cute and portrayed a pretty natural falling in love.
With that being said though, I feel like this book was trying to do too much at once. We've got the renovation, the love story, trying to save a building from being torn down, friends getting drugged in a bar, media frenzy about something from Marisa's past and that is what I want to talk about. Some of this was probably just setting up for side characters to get their own books, but it was a lot to throw in one 250 page book.
*Spoilers*
First of all, who in the world is going to blame a 13 year old for her father killing her mother and then herself? No one. It is not some shameful thing that she should feel guilty about, and if she'd been going to therapy like the character said she was, it was probably something she worked on early on in that journey. I understand that she may not want to talk about it with everyone, but it's also not going to turn into some huge scandal. "Oh my gosh, people are going to think I'm a horrible person! This is going to ruin the show!" No, people are going to feel bad for you and probably watch the show even more to see how the girl turned out. No one was going to vilify her.
Second of all, the media frenzy itself was a little weird. Yes, she has a little bit of a social media following, but she's basically an unknown person starring in an unaired home improvement show. I really don't see major news outlets and talk shows picking up the story. Maybe those trashy gossip rags.
*End spoilers*
Anyway that's my rant. I really did enjoy the story, but that part bugged me.
*Thank you to the publisher for this eARC.
